Institutional Art

First days back at school were always a little different. Here at the Institute of Arts, where designers mingled with mystics and critics, things were perhaps a little more different than usual.

The mid afternoon gloom of mists rolling in off the lakes set the tone for those congregating on that side of the campus.

Rather than be restricted by medium, the institute was subdivided by muse. Kindred spirits of poet and sculptor worked side by side for the glorification, or damnation of their inspiration.

Dark played with Light in the minds of the artists as much as it ever did on canvas. Friendships and collaborations shifted with the refilling of each coffee cup.

Cigarette smoke curled into the mist as circles of glowing red embers danced with the flow of conversation, never to fall beneath the grind of a heel. This place, and all those in it were works of art.

There's something about this shade of teal that I just can't get enough of. I'm not a fan of blue in general - as in, it would not be my favourite colour - though I can certainly agree it has its uses. But this teal shows up in so many things I see and think innately beautiful. It also goes insanely well with this beautiful skin!

The whole styling of this lot pleases me immensely.
