Dancing through the Fairelands

I spent a few lovely hours walking through the Fairelands, filming their beauty. Suddenly, I remembered the Poppet Paper Doll Avatars... They are made for dancing! Then, the travellers video of himself dancing all around the world swam up to the surface of my 2am mind... Here's my dancing poppety tribute to the Fairelands 2015. Enjoy!

Fantasy Faire 2015 - Forever Sprite

Sea Sprites live forever... or, better to say, they live for a very, very, very long time. Jerrilynn Whitefoam was a mere toddler by Sea Sprite standards, but a curious and adventurous toddler all the same. She wasn't entirely content with the underwater universe her parents and grandparents and great-grandparents used to enjoy. She wanted more. She wanted adventure, and experience. This is why she decided to rise above sea level one bright day... and she was so very lucky. She met a weird, winged critter floating in the air. She called herself Fidget Heartweb, a Nature Fairy... and she gifted Jerrilynn with a pair of amazing... stunning... wings! So absolutely useless under water... yet Jerrilynn donned them proudly, like a medal. Her medal for Adventure. Her medal for Being More Than a Sea Sprite. And she was happy because of this, for the forthcoming five hundred years under sea level.

I should have shown you this outfit ages ago, at the very beginning of the Faire... then, as usual, RL intervened. However, the Fairelands are still there for a few hours more, the crowd is definitely smaller, so you still have the chance to grab a beauty or two in the very last minute.

Sakura - Spring's hope - Fantasy Faire 2015

In IchiGo IchiE the sakura were in full bloom. The delicate flowers appearing from bare wood heralding the start of spring, of life's miraculous return from the depths of winter sleep. Méi awoke with the flowers, her long slumber at an end. 

The world inhaled, the chill of the air warming with each passing day. The spirits of spring and rebirth unfurled as she moved, hopping at first from branch to branch, running along swaying twigs with a sure step. Méi would not fall. Her own wings would keep her aloft, those and those of her companions surrounding her would carry her from bough to bough.
  Bringing life and beauty to the world was never easy, there was always a struggle. As her steps brought buds from the bark of the trees she considered this, as she did each year. These blooms were life, they were beauty, they were ephemeral. They were joy to all who saw them, they called for enjoyment, for delight in life as long as it lasts. Méi flew among the trees, bringing life for life's enjoyment. Each flower a bloom for the future, made possible by the growth of the past.
Two posts in one day... I know - testament to my lack of organisation. 

This post was planned, but the message it contains reached a new level of personal this morning as I was writing, thanks to another post, and conversations in our second life. So this one is for Ursula.

The Fantasy Faire in 2015 has so far raised L$ 6,268,699  That's $ 25,075! All for Relay for Life - The American Cancer Society. The more money raised, the more research, the faster new techniques and treatments are developed, the faster we find a cure. 

So go - the Fairelands will fade back into the mists for another year at the end of today. Enjoy the Sims. Bump into the talented and generous creators. Complete the hunt and be so covered in prizes you won't see daylight for a week. Hit up the donation kiosks. Cover bail for those characters locked up by the Pawlice. Shop shop shop! The Relay for Life vendors are clearly marked, all the L$ going to RFL.

Protecting the Fairelands : Fantasy Faire 2015

Travellers from other lands had always noted a change in the tides approaching the Fairelands. Waters were no calmer, but the waves had a new quality, a texture, as though the magic of the Fairelands themselves were dispersed below the surface. A strange tide; these visitors thought, even as their vessels were carried toward the docks and those tasked with defending their destination. Warm breezes from the Fairelands carried the scents of the different territories down to the shore. Standing on the docks in Vallacia, her eyes on the horizon, she was blessed with company on the breeze. Tiny butterflies alighted on her face, wings lightly brushing her lashes as delicate tongues dipped and lapped at the fine covering of salt on her skin. She kept up her watch, there were always those attempting to reach the Fairelands who had no business there. The arrows in her quivver would fly true. The arrow nocked to her bowstring was sharp to cut through air and water, though it would never wound a target. It carried a greater power than death, forged as it was from pure hope. It would prove an impenitrable barrier, protecting the Fairelands and all those within.  

The Fantasy Faire always goes by far far far to quickly. Today is the last day already!
