Twisted Reunion

At the furthest reaches of the winding gravel track lay the church. So far from the town it seemed impossible that it had ever been a regular place of worship for the number of people it could comfortably hold. Its grandeur and inexplicable presence made all the more remarkable by the constant shimmer of twilight which began on approach, darkening the closer any visitor came, regardless of the direction, or time of day.

Here in the dark, there would often be nothing to see, nothing to hear besides the soft scratchings of vermin, the gentle cries of the bats high above. At other times, strains of organ music drifted on the air, while candle flames set the stained glass in the windows glinting. The curtain of the confessional drawn back, the mouldering velvet covered wood of the seat within creaked as it took the weight of one a far cry from the priesthood. The book fell open with spine cracked familiarity, murmured words and the chill air filled with the blooming scent of roses. Tap, tap, tap, the impatient drumming of fingers waiting to be joined by the beat of another's heart.

Long cold candles combusted, illuminating the living and the dead. Their warmth carried the aroma of roses with the spark of flame, drifting over rosewood and all it contained. Old bones, life regained. Silk spun centuries earlier rustled as it began to move.

"Reunion... " A twisted prayer had brought them here, the concluding word at the end of countless experiments, trials and searches. Could it finally be true... Eyes which had long gazed only only the stars, the firmament of eternity took some time to resolve on the reality of shadow and stone. Could she see him now? Would she know him again?

Three cries from her birds etched in wood were all it took. Final forgiveness found in the the resumption of their eternal kiss. Their danse macabre would begin again, within the walls of their sanctuary, in their own private midnight.

Leeeeeeeeeeeetttttssssss..... TWIST AGAIN!

That's right my darlings of darkness, the Twisted Hunt is back again, ready to bend your brain and your camming abilities to find the right demonic cube from the its dancing denizens of decoys... ok seriously enough with the alliteration. You know the drill! It's the hardest hunt in Second Life, and for that, one of the absolute best. This year the colour of the hunt is a beautiful Burgundy Wine, and the theme - Victorian Gothic.

Jack or Jill

It had been a long day. It had been a long hard day. It had been a long, hard productive day. They had trawled through almost a hundred stores, searching for just the right items, catching up each like a prize. feet were aching, eyes were sore, night had fallen, and morning sun now licked the edges of the windows. Hunting for bargains was only ever the start, once you found everything you were looking for, you had to haul the loot home, open it up, and try it all on.

New clothes, accessories, a whole new look - theirs just for the taking.

For the uninitiated - Depraved Events each year host Jack or Jill - a gridwide hunt of two paths, male and female, each with around 50 stores to search for a prize. Prize items range from shoes to skins - and everything in between - especially in this round - socks! Also shown - not part of the Jack or Jill hunt - but certainly useful for many of the prizes - are the

 Slink Female Feet (AvEnhance). These MESH beauties boggled my mind at first - as I tend not to read instructions - just get all stuck in, and end up with no legs, then grey legs, then no legs again - but WOWZA. Once I got things sorted out - these have totally taken over from my other Slink feet which are all now a few years old. The look is great - the HUDS are intuitive, and it was easy to colour match. Appliers are being made by an ever increasing number of skin designers - and now clothing specialists are getting in on the action. The Stockings shown above from C h a r y are a look I really love - half on - half on the foot, giving a realism so rare until now in SL!  The feet are available on Markeplace - or at the Slink mainstore for L$675.

Hotrod

The revving of an engine, and the squeal of tyres on tarmac would always split the night...

Hotrod shone in the darkness. Not just from headlights burning in the night, bathing her in a glow as they swept roadways and buildings, but from the flames licking her curves, part of her being. She was older than she would ever look, meticulously maintained, a classic beauty, still more than capable of setting pulses racing. When she emerged into the world, she had first proven her worth to those who knew her, running the gauntlet of lawmen, carrying precious lillicit whiskey across the border. Speed and agility were her hallmarks, while some of her fellows had been caught, locked up and away, this had never been her fate. Over time, laws, and the world around her had changed, but her popularity only grew. Still lauded for her past triumphs, her beauty was now revered. Racing along highways, and in her work at the garage, people would stare, open-mouthed. Their admiration and care kept her going, in a world of boxy sameness, of safety and computerised sensors, she was real, was raw and dangerous. Forever a challenge to life and limb, in leather, chrome and flames.

 More years ago than I really care to think about (back in 2007) a very good friend of mine had made some tatts, these are they. On one occasion only, she showed them off on a blue skin. She looked like a bad ass hotrod, possibly not what she was going for, but the idea has been lodged in my mind ever since. In a revamp of her store, she is re-releasing some of her classic designs, so I had to try an recreate the look to share with you all here. While the flames look good on all skintones, for me, it will always be the dreamcar, my flaming blue hotrod.

I utterly fell in love with this skin while I was searching for one that would do for these pictures. Trawling marketplace and browsing my usual favourite stores had nothing that would do, and then I found Rue. I dont know when Id wear the skin again, but I couldn't not buy it after trying the demo. L$600 seemed steep for a skin I'd use in one blog post, which many people can attest to, as I was whinging for hours about struggling to find a reasonably priced alternative, but on opening the box - I was amazed. Not one skin as I'd thought, but 19 versions, a SHAPE, and three make-up options. From expense to complete bargain in one box opening!
