Enchantment

The sands in the shallows were soft, the water warmed by penetrating sunbeams rippling across the low forest of kelp, shifting and rippling in the gentle tide.

Naia liked to spend the early morning hours in the pale blue light; resting, letting the exertions of the night and the depths ease out of her muscles and mind.

Even now, she faced away from the shallows, away from the safety of the city with its temples, homes, and schools; to where the light and warmth met the drop off. Naia appreciated the work of all those behind her, as they relied on her and her companions. As she had grown her childhood fascination with the deep had become an obsession; her silver colouring made her an ideal candidate for the Guardians. Now daily, she built her strength in the safety of sunlight, preparing for the excitement of new discovery and dangers in the deep.

Enchantment is a quarterly shopping event with a fairytale theme. The fairytale chosen for this round is The Little Mermaid. Creators design exclusive items matching the chosen fairytale. There is a hunt, with exclusive gifts, all you have to do is find all the shells. Info and hints are available at the landing point. There is also a fairytale ball, costume contests and photo contests, as well as live performances, and art showcases. Enchantment is open from August 14th until September 4th.

Palace of Tears - Fantasy Faire Quest 2014 (No Spoilers!)

"Ooowh"

The dull ache in my head was what had woken me... or was it the damp? Lying here I was becoming more aware of both with each passing moment. Drinking with the Fairefolk? I should have known better.

"Oh gods..." I moaned, right hand rising to press against my temples, fingers and thumb massaging slow circles as my left explored my surroundings, sliding through sodden grass into a pool of water, emerging with, of all things, a toad. Its skin was slimy and cool beneath my touch. A soft smile curled the corners of my lips, despite the pounding in my head, as I couldn't be too far from home after all. Opening my eyes however, I had no memory of this place.

Bringing the toad closer, the soft scales of of my own skin reflected in its swamp black eyes, I kissed it gently. Long moments we regarded each other, neither of us shifting form to match the other, no fairytale romance this time. Bending to return my latest non-prince to the marshy ground, writing etched on the back on my hand swam in and out of focus. Blinking, I tried hard to clear my head, finally able to read what was scrawled there... It, and other details of the previous night came flooding back.

"The Jolly Crocodile..." A sigh escaped my lips as memory returned in painful swallows. I would have to go back. I had unfinished business with a human there, one who had been propping up the bar all night.

"Aloysius Fimbleby."

Fimbleby had matched me, and others of the crowd drink for drink that night. There was something about him though, something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Perhaps it had after all been water in those bottles he drank. As the hours went by, he seemed at least as sober as when I had arrived while I was certainly not. There had been something about a bet, a wager or challenge? I had to head back to the area near the bar to find out what I had let myself in for. Something floated up from the depths of memory just as my bare feet stepped from marsh to sand, Fimbleby's voice echoing in my ears. A clue... A bargain had clearly been struck last night.

Walking through the dunes, feeling eyes upon me, I felt somehow this barfly was able to see my every move. Perhaps he was. Following the clue, I searched the surrounding area for what it could mean. As I came upon what I felt for sure was the answer, snapping my fingers and naming it aloud in triumph, my voice was answered by Fimbleby's as though we had been in conversation all along. There were clues, he said, clues he would give if I journeyed throughout the Fairelands. All riddles had to be answered and only if I succeeded would he give me a golden key. Of what this key would open he gave no hint, other than it would be worth my while. How could I refuse? I had already begun...

The Palace of Tears is this year's immersive hunt at the Fantasy Faire.

You can purchase the HUD at the landing point of any of the Faire SIMS for L$250. The HUD will tell you in local chat exactly what you need to do, and where you should head. There are cut scenes as well as inworld text, which can pop up in your SL viewer, or externally on youtube. Each SIM of the Fantasy Faire has it's own riddle for you to solve - I've made sure not to include any spoilers here! Once you have solved them all, you are ready for Part Two - which should go live today at noon SLT.

My favourite thing about these hunts is that they truly showcase the amazing work of the SIM creators. Shopping can get a bit tunnel vision, even in these surroundings. This quest ensures everyone taking part really sees each location, and can appreciate all the hard work put in to make them so beautiful. The Autumn Effect

Some other highlights from this excellent Depraved Nation Hunt!

Of the best things about autumn, Christophe would have found it hard to pick just one favourite. They all interlinked, as all natural things would do. The days were shorter, so the nights, and the twilights were longer, that beautiful tone which bathed the woodlands, making long walks that little bit magical. The world was sighing after a busy and productive summer, the trees and the creatures settling down, preparing for the long winter sleep. The nip in the air meant he would wear his woolen jumper, knowing she would want it later when night fell, but for now, with the mellow light dappling the glade amid the falling leaves, she would still be dressed for the last of the warm days...

She knew as she made her choices that morning exactly what she would wear, the warm tones matched her mood, and the technicolour foliage they would walk through. The sun flooded her rooms, warming the air. It would be cooler out in the woods, but they would stick to the sunlit paths at first. As the evening drew on, he would let her borrow his jumper, she knew it, and grinned to herself with this knowledge. For now she could relax into the soft carpet of leaves, resting her head in his lap as the spiders hiding in the leaf litter emerged, spying with their many eyes their fellows, inked into her skin.

With mists and mellow fruitfulness, autumn lured even the most urban of foxes out into the wilds of the woods. Their city clothes stood up to the task remarkably well, her hoodie was thick and warm, the leather of his jacket kept out the chill and the damp. Jeans, as ever, were suitable anywhere, though Sam would occasionally whimper when the drop crotch of his jeans snagged on a bramble. Anya chuckled softly each time this happened, catching his hand to pull him free. They had avoided the rangers, her smoking would not go over well at all, though she was convinced it would take days of intense flame to make any difference to the damp carpet of leaves beneath their feet. They had walked for hours, taking in the views, and searching for conkers, soon it would be time to head to the clearing, and join the others at the bonfire, but for now, this tranquil world was theirs.

This was the celebration, the feast of the food they would bring, the ceremony, symbolic as it now was, of the last golden night before the long darkness of winter.

As someone who actually has a 'latex'-folder with many subcategories in their inventory, I couldn't help but to snatch up this purdy huntgift of squeaky red goodness that is +DV8+'s contribution to the Dark Future hunt. You receive both outfits shown in the picture in one single hunt item, so there is no extra search to find a hot club-outfit for your boy- or girl-alt in addition.



The male item, Reznik (in firebrick) consists of shirt and pants, whereas the female prize, Merciless (in blood), features a futuristic looking bodice with shoulderpads, stockings and gloves. I'm always amazed how well +DV8+ manages to pull the latex look off, so this outfit will surely become one of my favourites in my Saturday-night-party wardrobe.

This is most likely the least fitting headline I've ever chosen (apart from the fact that it includes the word 'drow'), but the line simply got stuck in my head when I was working on the picture, and in the end I couldn't resist to actually use it. Ahem, back to the topic! This super-generous and detailed outfit, or rather avatar, is AC Design's contribution to the Supernatural Hunt, which will be running until May, 31st.

The male gift includes everything shown in the picture, except the hair and eyes, and I took the liberty of showing different variants of how to wear this really nice set of roleplay-gear. You also get the weapons (bow and quiver, unscripted), ears, horns and the tail, the skin and the golden stripes on a tattoo layer. The female outfit is much more revealing, with merely a harness of golden straps covering your bits, but I believe it's possible to mix and match both sets in case you want a less unveiling look.

A little hunt-quickie post about the [:Where is...HunT:] and two unisex items I found so far (I just started out, but I couldn't resist blogging them already!). The hunt runs from May, 1st - May 22nd and you are looking for... a donut. Cynful is the starting location, and there is also an inworld-group you might want to join in case you're getting stuck.


Shown in the picture are the prizes from [NV], a pretty cool sculpted baggy pants in a subtle brown/yellow/blue colour scheme (resize scripted) and ::Para Designs:: Vermin sleeve tattoo you will receive in dark, medium, light and solid shades. This mech is the gift from the hunt at sick and sick5. The hunt is exhausting, the sims are big and chaotic but also worth seeing. You hunt for 10 databoxes (5 on sick and 5 on sick5). You only need to touch them and then you ll get a part of the mech.

I do not really know much about mechs but in my opinion it looks good.
The mech comes with a hud. It allows to activate a sword and a machine gune. Here a picture of the muzzle flash.

Blue Monday

I was very excited hearing about the Excalibur hunt. And when reaching shop 6 i was very glad having gone to that hunt. I got this wonderful gown there. I love the colour. The dress is floriated. I was also very glad that it has a resize script because before using the resize possibilty it caused a unwanted pregnancy. The designer told me that this was the first medival dress she created and im looking forward for more from her.

Valentines playtime with 22769

Hopping over rings at a playground i found at a new german shop called 22769. This playground is really fun. They also got stuff like a canon which shoots you over the whole sim and a trampoline there. And they got a valentines hunt. On the sign is written that the hunt starts at the 12th but i found the gifts today.


There are two outfits. One for females which even comes with a little hat. And very very sweet socks.

Magic & Romance Hunt

If you have enough of your roleplay dresses the Magic & Romance hunt is a hunt you should attend. The hunt runs from 1st of february till 7th of March. A lot of fantasy shops take part in it.
I'd like to show some of the hunt items.

First of all i want to start with Kouse's sanctum. There i found this nice gown. It comes in a short and a long version and is very pretty.

This dress reminded me on the Fables comics. Bluebelle and the unveiling of the secret what bluebelle wears under her dress. The dress comes with various versions of the flower basked, two versions of the stockings (blue and white) and even a shape. Its the hunt item at Deviance.
