On the way to the north

Her colleagues hated her but Dr.Dr. Phd. Ignatia Fleckenstein was the most popular and experienced scientist when it came to penguinlanguages. Her parents had been antarctic explorers so at the age of five Ignatia found out that penguins were as smart as humans and that it was possible to learn their language. At that time she evn had the impression that they would be smarter as humans. But as soon as she became a bit older she found out that also penguinparents didn't allow their children to stay up late and to eat as much as they wanted to. After having learned to write Ignatia wrote her famous first book with the title "First words for penguin friends". Of course the scientific community did not take her serious but soon they had to change their opinion. Some more people learned to communicate with penguins and were really surprised about their culture. But somehow they never managed to become as good in understanding them as Ignatia did.

I love elegant unique clothing. This dress from Leezu has a very unique cut because of the form of the collar and the black white pattern is calm because of its colours and at the same time very brisk. The skirt is included in three versions and the system parts come on all layers. Its possible to edit the primparts. The gloves belong to the Ansiotropic jacket from Miamai, which I blogged some weeks ago, I really like the primparts. It is of course possible to wear the dress without leggins or tights under it but I choosed to wear it with the dewi pants which also come from Miamai. As the outfit is black and white its great to add some colour so the red leather boots are a great contrast to the dress and the gloves.
The pose used in the picture comes from Captivity Co. It belongs to a set which will be released soon and has the name Velvet Curtain Collection. That collection of poses is being created for fashion pictures and will be released soon.

In Which Sian Rises to Three Challenges and Lets You Into a Secret

Sian's going to let you into a secret: when she first joined Second Life, she wanted, for various reasons, to make a boy avatar.

Which is why, when her display name is "Sian Pearl", her actual username is "Sion Pearl" (If you are not from the UK and/or do not know Wales, you may not know that "Sion" and "Sian" are the Welsh versions of "John" and "Jane" — they're pronounced "Shaun" and "Shaahn").

To her disappointment, Sian discovered that it is much, much harder to make a satisfying male avatar (one that doesn't look like a pimp or a drug dealer, anyway) than it is a female one. And so she gave up and reverted to being a girl, relying on the fact that no one on SL knows Sion is actually a boy's name and changing that pesky "o" to the distaff "a" as soon as Display Names entered the grid. Eventually, Sian made a male avatar, but honestly, she liked being Sian better.

After a great deal of work, however, Sian finally managed to step up and succeed with Dagmar Haiku's Change Your Gender for L$0 Challenge. This took ages and ages. Like, weeks.

Here's Sion Pearl. Sion is 30 years old, is proud to be Welsh, and finds the zombie slicers useful for Saturday nights in Newport. Sion's a bit sad that he couldn't find a nice black skin for free, but he's got some leads and might still have another go.

Shrugging with a little relief back into her accustomed form, Sian found out yesterday that her previous statement that the Dark Future Hunt was over was very much exagerrated, and that it had one day to go! Since she was home poorly, Sian, who is not normally one for hunts, scooted around the hunt locations, nabbing a good three quarters of the gifts.

Sian will no doubt blog a few gems from the hunt in the next few days, but just wants to share her clubbing kit from yesterday. Sian thinks it's hot and this is her in her house just before she went out for a dance at Club Industry.

In Which Sian Goes Replicant

This is Sian. She's sort of new here.



Mostly, Sian wants to look like the future, and usually ends up looking shiny and glossy but when our cybernetic heroine fell hard for a harlequin recently — and where can you say that other than in Second Life? — she wanted to soften her look a bit.



And that's how Sian discovered Leezu Baxter's store, and fell in love with Leezu!'s (the exclamation mark is part of the name) strange, frilly yet timeless designs. She never looks quite ordinary in these clothes, and to her surprise and her sad clown sweetheart's delight, Sian came out looking like a replicant from a non-existent remake of Blade Runner, or a secretary from the Haus of Gaga.



Sian doesn't think that Leezu Baxter intended her clothes to be futuristic and cyberpunk (and actually, they go just as nicely with Sian's witchy look) , but the combination of frills and futuristic stylings, Louis XIV meets cyberpunk, makes for a striking and interesting look.

Fins and Scales

Some myths say that the merpeople are cold and wet and that the life they live in the deepths of the seas is boring and without beauty. Those myth are wrong. The culture of the merpeople is impressing. They grow special flowers in their garden and they know how to make wonderful dresses out of fish which is only raised for that. The merpeople keep most of those dresses for themself but some make it on the surface.

LeeZu takes part at Fashion for Life and they have wonderful dresses as donation item. The dress on the first picture reminds me on a betta with all the colourful fins. Although i m not sure if black betta exist as the scales of the dress are black. The shades of black and dark magenta fit well together. The idea to mix flowers, fins and scales is unique in my opinion and i have to admit that i love the dress and enjoy walking around in it. It is also a great item for roleplay as you always could say it has been made of giant fish you hunted or is something your family owns for centuries. I only had to adjust the top and the gloves a bit to make the dress fit my avatar. So maybe it takes about 15 minutes on a posestand to adjust the dress but its definitly worth to take the time for that.

This white black dress also has a very unique cut. Which is mainly created by the collar. The dress could be worn just as top or with one of the three included skirts. On the picture you could see the dress with the sculpted skirt, the other included skirts are a sculpted one with some flexi parts over it which look a bit like a lace and have the same pattern as the rest of the dress and a babydoll skirt. The sleeves are also sculpted. If your avatar is only 1,96m in high heels as mine you will need to resize the dress also. But it is easy with those skirts and the collar. It did not take much time. What i really love is how classic and modern this dress is at the same time. And i was really surprised when i recognized that this dress, although the skirt is longer than a miniskirt, goes pretty well with overknee boots. I really like this combination. Of course it also fits great to high heels.

This white dress also comes with three skirts. The top has a very open cut. I liked the skirt with the bows best as it is cute. The other two skirts are one with tealength and one which is short but without the bows. This dress reminds me very much on spring but it might also work well in summer as it is very open and its not very likely to sweat while wearing it.

This is the black version of the above dress. It has some white squares on the skirt which make it look more intresting. It also comes with three skirts. This one is the tealong one. This dress lets me think of an artist who might wear a sophisticated dress.

All those dresses are donation items that means if you buy them the money will go directly to Relay for Life and help to find a cure for cancer or at least make somebody happy while having a horrible time in his or her life.

Trying to walk down a glass staircase is never easy at the best of times, especially when teetering around in heels and being aware that you're wearing the the shortest of shorts! ok ok they're hot pants and aren't they just the most amazing hot pants you've ever seen! I felt super glam in this outfit today that I just fancied walking around the most populated areas jiggling my little bottom ...well that was the plan but lag made me walk into a river instead! no so glam pfft!
