I Am Aries

Her head ached. More than that… her head wanted to explode with pain. But what can you expect when you’re after the umpteenth attempt to break through a door by – literally – ramming it? There were times when she actually hated her job, albeit the profession she chose fitted her perfectly. There were times when she felt like fish in the water... now that was a mixed metaphor, she thought a second later, given that she wasn’t fish. She was ovine, with a pair of beautifully curling horns, and sheep seldom swam. “Ooohh... it’s starting again!” – she was silently howling as the dolour hit her forehead one more time. “An hour, maybe an hour and a half, and my shift is over!” – she thought thankfully, and she gave in to the excruciating pain.

The soldiers had been attacking the castle relentlessly, for days and days. They used a battle ram to bring down the main gate. The heavy instrument broke into pieces but not before it smashed through wood and iron, allowing the conquerors to pour in the fortress. The siege was over, the weapons were dropped for a while, and nobody cared about a destroyed battle ram lying in the moat.

I might have mentioned now and then that one of my absolute favourites among SL avatar creators is doubtlessly Alpha Auer. A fine romance? [7]

She had been horrified at the thought of wearing stolen goods, and immediately reported the matter to the police. It was to be an extensive investigation, which meant that she was forbidden to leave Paris until the thief was caught, as she too was a suspect in the crime.

Gascon knew that she had no part in the theft, as the family heirlooms had gone missing a year before she arrived. With dwindling funds and no work on the horizon, Gascon kindly offered her work at the Restaurant, and a small room to rent, until the investigation was over.

She was grateful for this generosity , and worked hard and long hours. Her hard work had been noted, and earned her the respect of her co-workers, the customers seemed to take to her too, they adored to hear the stories of her travels She relished her new position, for the first time in her life, she felt part of something. She'd always been more than happy to be a free spirit, but had somehow always felt an observer of other people's lives, someone on the outside looking in., but here she felt like she was on the inside and she liked that feeling.

She felt mixed emotions, as the investigation reached  it's conclusion. Relief that she was no longer a suspect, and that the jewels were able to be returned to their rightful owner, sadness at knowing that the arrangement that she had at the restaurant must now come to an end, and shock at who was involved in the crime.

It turned out that the thief was a woman by the name of Petunia Pooley. She was a dancer at Le Moulin Rouge next door who had taken quite a shine to Gascon, they had become friends , but she had mistaken his attention. One evening she had slipped into Gascons bedroom, and prepared to seduce him. He was quite shocked by her brazen approach , and ordered her out of his room. It was this humiliation that made her seek her revenge, but that was only the start of it......

No one remembers when it all started, when the sun's light slowly began to fade and made room for a neverending night whose twinkling stars shimmered like fat, white maggots on a black shroud the city had been woven into. Some people wondered and asked question... and they started to disappear; first the curious ones, then the grown-ups, one after another, whilst their houses began to rot and their civilisation was in decline, while creatures with tentacles and foaming mouths rose from the swamp and otherworldly chants could be heard from the partially burned church. The only things that never changed were the sparkling stars above, the intense smell of salt water wavering through the forsaken streets and the city's kids piercing stares from within the shadows, lurking and patient, magic sigils on their skin and a ghostly light flaring in their empty eyes...


It's the 16th week of Luna's blogger challenge - that makes four whole months! - and the shade this week is teal. While searching for a fitting inworld photo site, I once again ended up in one of my favourite sims, Innsmouth. This place keeps fascinating me with its Lovecraft-inspired, spooky atmosphere and provides a great background for roleplay or gloomy pictures - play around with windlight and water settings some - and don't forget to switch on sounds!

As usual, I'm being a little late following my gorgeous fellow bloggers, but better late than never. Since I'm undead by choice, I hope you'll bear with me that I rather present my Look of the Night than showing off my daytime-PJ's... this my second post and I don't want to scare you all off in the very beginning.

Anyways, on the clothes! I picked a tee that's been one of my very first purchases, a nicely shaded piece you can get at *BOOM*. It comes in a set of 4 different versions, from solid to ultra sheer, is unisex and available in a rainbow of colours, so you can layer different shades quite nicely. And all that for a steal deal of only 50L$ per pack!

The lickable latex pants with ankh-pattern landed in my shopping bag at Sn@tch's last sale, come in pants- and underpants-layer and are even transfer, so if you want to gift them, they're really a nice addition not only to your clubbing wardrobe. You can pick from a great variety of motives and/or colours, from gothic to punk.

I paid Spider Productions a visit yesterday, and that's where my boots come from. Both textures and prim work are outstanding, and the buckle flaps can be made invisible via menu so you get an entirely different look. Unfortunately, there are no demos in store, but the boots are mod in case you need to make adjustments (and actually fit me well right ahead).
