Skin Fair 2015 - YumYums Hope Equinox

Down on the farm, everything was peaceful in the dusk at the end of a long day. The sun held warmth in its rays, for the first time since the winter. Grass bleached by months of cold crackled dryly under her feet, frost still clinging in tiny shards where shadows lingered. Steam rose in wisps from the crooked slats of the fence.

The old tyre swing moved in the gentle breeze like a metronome, marking time as the minutes passed. She had worked all day, there were endless jobs to be done while the earth slept, preparations to be made for the rebirth of spring. Spring, the hope promised to the world, a blessing fulfilled each year was marked with suitable festivity. As the season finally turned, and the equinox approached, the night of celebration and hope was at hand, it was time to get ready, it was time to dance!

The Skin Fair 2015 is presented by: Pale Girl Productions & Essences and runs from Friday 13th to Sunday, 29th March.

I have been bubbling over with excitement about this for about a week now. The event is as amazing as ever. TWO sims of stores, showcasing exclusive and outstanding designs from Second Life's best creators. You can expect a number of blog posts as I rave about the goodies on offer!

There is a script limit on the sims to ensure the shopping experience is as lag free as possible.

Featured here is the .{yumyums}. {Honey} Hope [Ginger Brow] Cleavage.

This skin is one of five tones available in this beautiful new skin from YumYums. You can try Cocoa, Creame, Honey, Latte and Porecelain. Each skin comes with an epic HUD for just about every applier you can shake a stick at, here I've just made use of the SLink Hands and Feet - the HUD also caters for Lola's, Phat/Cuteass, The Mesh Project, Maitreya, Loud Mouth, Nyam Nyam, PXL, Baby Bump and Soul Kissers.

Each skin comes with a fantastic array of options - with and without cleavage for black, blonde, brown, ginger and no brow.

There's an Alpha layer to remove system eyelashes, and a myriad tattoo layers for freckles, brows and blush.

Last Days of Fantasy Gacha Carnival - Lotus Dawn

The delicate pink buds were slumbering in peace… but one, especially if „one” was a Lotus Nymph, could perceive a soft, it-is-just-there stirring among the silky petals and gently arching stems. Nymph and flowers sensed in unison that something was going to happen, and soon… Dawn, the sunrise, the first warm rays of light, the beginning of a new day, growth and flourishing. The Nymph caressed the nearest lotus bud, and the bud caressed her back… then they both turned, in happy anticipation, towards the golden orb slowly rising in the East.

The soft pearly white skin by Fallen Gods is one of the rare gacha prizes at the Fantasy Gatcha Carnival. What makes it even more precious is the fact that Alia Baroque and Charlie of Soul have recently started collaborating on making their lovely creations compatible, so from now on the amazing Fallen Gods skins are going to have an applier for Uni ears! And, as we all know, Uni ears are the absolute dream of fantasy creatures in SL, be it Elf, Drow, or Mer... proudly strutting an FGI skin. :)

The final shopping day at the FGC is the 15th of March, so you still have a few days to visit the machines and tempt your fortune… maybe they’re going to be gracious with you as a farewell gesture.

Into the Forest : We Love RolePlay - March 2015

In the middle of the forest two hearts beat as one. This was their way, and the way it had always been.

Their way of life had come under threat before. Centuries earlier strangers had come, driving into their coastline, setting their trees screaming with axe and saw, churning and biting the land in an attempt to render it like the one they had left. The land rebelled, fought back with spiny plants, biting insects, poisonous frogs. The strangers were put off, the scars they left lasted decades.

They had come again, these strangers, this time from sea, land and sky. The people of the forest were few, but fierce. They would join their surroundings, sliding easily through shadow and dappled sunlight. The strangers would not see them coming, footsteps masked by soft calls of bird and beast. River and land working with them, their way of life would survive.

Creepy Kawaii - Last Day!

Jane, Jane, Impunity Jane, locked in the toybox, time and again. The nursey rhyme; formed from the book which had inspired her name; echoed around toybox, and the dusty attic in which it now rested. It had followed the box from room to room, child to child, a horror handed down through generations. In the story, Impunity Jane was saved from confinement by Gideon. There had been no such hero for this Jane. Over the years her strings had slackened, her reach extended, her anger deepened. All those in the box had learned a thing or two through the years. Each child, good, bad or careless affected the toys that they own, just as toys would shape them. Dexterity and logic, colour and form were all learned from blocks, bricks and tiny intricate clothing. Decades had passed since they had learned anything new, the lid had been closed and not reopened. They learned from each other, in the gloom, good and bad. Factions were formed and territories claimed in the wooden box that had become their world. Jane had grown, claws and all, in bloody battles of tangled strings and flying stuffing.

Now these scuffles were over, they were ready. Cute and dangerous, ready and waiting...

Buried

The signs were posted all around, clearly marking the land surrounding the cemetery as off limits. There had been warnings from the townspeople, but these had been ignored with a polite nod by the corporation. Such warnings always were.

They were digging for financial gain, boring down into the earth, biting through grass, sod and stone. They found more than they bargained for. They had kept clear of the cemetery sure, with its imposing stone wall cutting through the woodland. The fragile wooden pegs outside the wall, an undulating boundary marking out some local superstition were much easier to brush aside. Shovels cut through earth, and came out, fingers gripping the blade.

The corporation should have listened. The woman who had been Patricia had slept beneath the earth for years, being woken like that, anyone would be angry. The others had been too, which of course, is the last thing the people of the town had wanted. The screaming had woken so many. Still, she mused... there really had been no call for the axe. She had just been trying on some of the things in the home which had once been her own. Even through the vague mists of consciousness, that had hurt to pull out. Now that the screaming had stopped, locals having taken to the hills, her headache was fading. She and her fellows would enjoy the spoils of the living for a while before climbing back down to sleep. You can join them down there, all it takes is a little bite...


Madpeas current game is BURIED, a SIM hopping thriller for the modern age. Follow instructions on the game HUD to take you into the world of geocaching, and an investigation where the stakes escalate fast. Setting out to locate Lily, a missing writer, a voice on the phone leads you on until safety is just a memory. There is no turning back.

One Billion Rising 2015 in Second Life - Underwater Sisters

The mermaids sensed that one of them was in pain. They could always feel when there was some trouble with any of them... they were all sisters, after all, connected at various levels of existence. Now a beautiful, sparkling, slim creature was crouching in pain at the bottom of the sea. "Her prince left her. She gave up everything for him... and he just left her, for one of those pale, two-legged Earthlings..." - the eerie, soft mermaid voices shared the story, then they all gathered around their sister and slowly took turns in embracing her. She was one of them, and she was not to be left alone.

The beautiful mermaids are the "daughters" of claudia222 Jewell, who is one of the many excellent artists with an installation on show in the One Billion Rising in Second Life sims on 14 February 2015.

... and what is One Billion Rising about?

"One Billion Rising was the biggest mass action in human history. The campaign, launched on Valentine’s Day 2012, began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than one billion women and girls.

On 14 February 2014 OBR called on women and men everywhere to harness their power and imagination to rise for justice. In 2015, OBR are calling for a revolution for change."
