The Twisted Hunt 2013 Spring - Alice On The Run

Alice knew something weird was going on in the enchanted realm behind the Looking Glass. Not that the land and its inhabitants had ever been what people usually call “normal”, not at all... but what Alice noticed was well over the edge even by their standards. The Caterpillar gave up smoking because, as he told Alice, it was bad for his health. The Mock Turtle applied for university because he wanted to become an actor and be called The Authentic Turtle. And the Mad Hatter... better to forget about him. He decided to open a luxury shop where he sold dresses to the Red Queen and her court.

“Beware the jabberwock, my girl!” – Alice heard a raspy voice while she was brooding under a gigantic mushroom, generally feeling abandoned and alone. “’Tis his work! Beware! Run, Alice, and don’t look back!” “Who are you?” – Alice asked. “Oohhh... I’m the Terrible Jubjub Bird, only that I’m un-jubjubbed... I’m harmless now and need someone to feed me!” – answered the mysterious speaker who, as Alice saw, was nothing else but a small mockingbird in a cage. In this very moment Alice heard a distant growl... and she knew the Jabberwock was close. She picked up the cage and started running through the forest of mushrooms, towards the Looking Glass.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you also wish to lose even the rest of your sound mind, jump on the band wagon of the Twisted Hunters! The principal rule is that there are no rules and clues, shop owners can be as wicked as they’ve ever wanted to be and they may hide the prizes anywhere, under floorboards and in chimneys... so that you may feel really really rewarded when you pick up the right damn lil rotating cube after hitting on the umpteenth decoy.

The pictures were taken at the Nitroglobus Gallery that hosts the psychedelic installation titled “Eyeworld” by Roni Saunders until mid-March. Beware, there be no Caterpillar but lots and lots of mushrooms...and eyes...

Come Back To Me - The Enchanted Frost Hunt

Hrotswytha Frostgarth looked through the window and shivered. She was indeed an ice witch, but the blizzard ruthlessly raging in the outside world was too much even for her... and she was also deeply worried. Her beloved pet was outside, somewhere in the snow, trying to find his way home. Oh, Hrymwyr was so bold and stubborn, and enjoyed wandering alone in the wilderness so much! Now he was in trouble... because even the stamina of the boldest and most stubborn stag is eventually consumed by the wind, the frost and the ice.

Not far away, Hrymwyr was to lie down in the snow... the deadly snow, which was so inviting and soft, it beckoned him and whispered, it offered him a cosy feather bed. Yet, in the last second, he pricked his ears and stood still. Hrotswytha was near, he suddenly realised, and she was reaching out for him. Hrymwyr started walking, and at a faster pace. His task was simple now. He must return home. Hrotswytha was waiting.

A borrowed PC and some very limited time in SL... what could I do? With much luck and friendly help I rushed through The Enchanted Frost Hunt by MadPea and boy, was it worth it! You must buy a HUD for 10 L$ at the starting point, but it’s really a symbolic sum if you look at what you receive in exchange. The gifts are simply amazing and I’m truly sorry I can show you only a very few items here! Just to tickle your curiosity a bit more: do you remember Ceri the friendly giantess who was a regular at The Tides during the 2012 Fantasy Faire? Well, you can become just like her, because you find a complete set of Colossus avatars, outfit included, among the endgame gifts. The hunt is on until December 22nd, so you'd better run... errmmm... slide or skate for your HUD!

The Huntress And Her Prey

Adira was an experienced huntress, but she was a ranger above everything. She loved the woods, be it Winter or Summer... every season held some unique charm for her. In Winter she enjoyed the soft duvet of white snow that covered the ground, the silence and the sharp sunlight twinkling on the frozen pond. Spring was the season of rebirth, with the birds chirping and singing, and the fresh, crispy smell of the wet earth under her boots. Summer was bountiful, offering her berries and mushrooms... and Autumn was golden, sleepy decay.

Whenever hunger and necessity called for it, though, Adira became a killer. Armed with her sharp knives and accompanied by her pet raven who served as her scout, she dived into the forest... and did not leave until she had her prey. A rabbit, usually, or a pheasant... and very, very seldom even something bigger, like a young deer.

And today Adira was walking the hunting path again. Her pantry was empty, so was her stomach... and it looked like Black Claw, the raven, smelled something as he was hopping on the shoulder of his mistress quite impatiently. “Shhhh.... let’s go and see what it is, shall we, Clawie?” – whispered Adira, and sprung forward...

... and tomorrow morning I’m telling you what she found.

Outfit: Black Cat Bones „Storm” that also includes the boots – Lucky Cage prize for this week (0 L$). The outfit is very well done, and I particularly like the small elaborate details, such as the hand stitching on the riveted belt, the soft paisley pattern of the underskirt, the coil of rope hanging on the belt and the second knife half hidden in the left boot.

Necklace: Fallen Leafs „Spiritweaver” – Lucky Chair prize (0 L$).

Hair accessory: Caverna Obscura „Elven Hair Sticks” – gift in the shop (0 L$).

Shoulder pet: Montagne Noire. It was part of a previous Twisted Hunt prize, and it’s not available any more. However, if you’d like to have your own pet raven, drop me a line, because it’s copy/trans. :)

Skin: Rockberry „Megan” A Natural – Lucky Chair prize (0 L$).

Hair: Alice Project „Persuasion SE” in Brown – Lucky Board prize (0 L$). The hair is rigged mesh, the giftbox contains three sizes and two alpha layers, plus the hairtips are tintable.

Hairbase: Analog Dog „Black” – free gift package available in the shop (0 L$).

Eyes: Sterling Artistry „February Caramel” – former monthly freebie, but I’m sure you’ll find something quite similar in the shop. :)

Mechanic

The yard looked like it had been left alone for years. But Isobel did not care at all. This was the space where she wanted to make her dream come true. An own car repair shop. Of course the area was a bit wild but she knew that she was able to defend herself and of course she was aware of the fact that men mainly came to her because of her look. But she knew what she did. For sometime she had been working for other car repair shops. It had always been tricky to make her co-workers trust in her abilities. She hoped that it would be better when she had her own shop. Her old boss was quite annoyed when he recognized how many customers he lost after she opened her store.

The zombie popcorn brand is in a new round and as always there are some nice items sold there. The skin from Skintimate is one of those. It has some makeup around the eyes which give it a serious expression. The pack contains the skin in three skintones. In combination with the mesh hair from Alice Project it creates a look which reminds me on italian girls. But that might just be me. The hair comes not only with a meshpart there is also a flexi part included which could be worn with the hair to make it look even more realistic. The top and the wristlets come both from Culto. The top consists only of prims and was surprisingly easy to fit. The necklace comes from Virtual/Insanity. Its a very sweet item and can be tinted in several patterns and colours with the help of a menu. The trousers are available at Acid and Mala. And the pose comes from CheerNo motion.
