Go With The Flow... Flower With The Drow!

Irrolin eyl’Zebeyriina was a powerful Drow magician and a priestess, the pride of her mother and her entire family. She was tall and slender, she moved with fluid grace, she was perfectly trained in the art of warfare… but her most dangerous weapons were her bright intelligence and her ability to cast arcane spells and curses with the lethal, smooth swiftness of an arrow shot from the crossbow of a seasoned warrior.

Yet, it is written that even the best may be bested. One day Irrolin engaged in a magical duel with an unknown Drow and, despite the legendary ability of her race to resist hexes and jinxes, she felt rather weird after the duel was concluded. She annihilated her enemy... but why was he smiling so oddly while he was slowly turning into grey dust and black pebbles? Irrolin got her answer the following morning, when her mother started shrieking after the first glance cast upon her daughter, and her family promptly banished her from their splendid residence in the Underworld.

She was covered in flowers... terrible, disgusting, colourful, smelly, sticky, living things from the Upperworld! So Irrolin spent the rest of her long, long life in an Upperworld forest, she bred big, poisonous spiders for a living, and everybody who just hinted at her being a “flowery Drow” found themselves turned into a toad or – when Irrolin was in a particularly foul mood - something definitely worse... like a potted geranium.

The “Wear Gray for a Day” event has entered its second week. While many SL residents already prepare for the forthcoming Fantasy Faire and there are so many other shopping events still running, please find some time to hop over to the Wear Gray sim and leave a few Lindens in order to assist research into brain tumour diagnosis, treatment and care. I also thought brain tumour only happened to „others” until a friend was diagnosed with it… happily married, mother of a baby boy, at the age of 32.

What Shall I Call You?

Nuwwananiyeh grew up in a world where shapes and outlines mattered, but people had no concept of „colours”. In order to describe a dress, a landscape or a tasty dish she had been talking of „edgy” and „soft” and „square” and „rotund” things all her life… until one day she suddenly decided to follow two birds that somehow appeared in the meadow not far away from her residence.

She was so enchanted, even mesmerised by the two winged creatures that she followed them without giving a thought to the occasional perils that might have arisen. Nuwwananiyeh was running and running.... until she sobered up and realised she was standing in the very middle of a desert, a flat and plain land, and there was something really odd about the landscape. It was.... “colourless”....? Nuwwananiyeh was rolling the word on her tongue. “Colourless”. And she was, in comparison.... “Purple”....? Yes, that was the proper expression! She was dressed in “purrrrpleeee”.... and Nuwwananiyeh was laughing by now. “Purrrple...” .... “reeeddd”... “blueeee”? The new words were frolicking around her like kittens, and she was blissfully happy. “Yellloooowwww....?” – she laughed and pointed a finger at the Sun.

PeKaS Designs Gorean has a solid reputation in SL for offering a vast spectrum of Gorean fashion for both men and women. Yet, now and then, some “unexpected” items appear on the Midnight Mania boards at PeKaS... something utterly modern, or something out of the mainstream, like the Lady Purple Spring dress that can pass for a lovely Victorian gown, provided you wear the modesty shirt layer that I’ve neglected to put on. :) I particularly like the amazingly detailed, frilly and flowery tournure, and the elaborate flowers in general; and the Crazy Hair Hunt 3 gift by Orage Creations just completes this fresh Spring look.

The Huntress And Her Prey

Adira was an experienced huntress, but she was a ranger above everything. She loved the woods, be it Winter or Summer... every season held some unique charm for her. In Winter she enjoyed the soft duvet of white snow that covered the ground, the silence and the sharp sunlight twinkling on the frozen pond. Spring was the season of rebirth, with the birds chirping and singing, and the fresh, crispy smell of the wet earth under her boots. Summer was bountiful, offering her berries and mushrooms... and Autumn was golden, sleepy decay.

Whenever hunger and necessity called for it, though, Adira became a killer. Armed with her sharp knives and accompanied by her pet raven who served as her scout, she dived into the forest... and did not leave until she had her prey. A rabbit, usually, or a pheasant... and very, very seldom even something bigger, like a young deer.

And today Adira was walking the hunting path again. Her pantry was empty, so was her stomach... and it looked like Black Claw, the raven, smelled something as he was hopping on the shoulder of his mistress quite impatiently. “Shhhh.... let’s go and see what it is, shall we, Clawie?” – whispered Adira, and sprung forward...

... and tomorrow morning I’m telling you what she found.

The outfit is very well done, and I particularly like the small elaborate details, such as the hand stitching on the riveted belt, the soft paisley pattern of the underskirt, the coil of rope hanging on the belt and the second knife half hidden in the left boot.

Thor

Luckily it was winter. Else the scream of anger which was running through the mountains would have woken more than some birds. Luckily the bear in a nearby cave had problems with its ears else it would have been massivly disturbed in its hibernation. Thor was really angry. So he was on his way home. Frozen waterfalls started to move under his feet. Ice floating like cold lava. He was tempted to smash his hammer into the liquid but on the other hand he knew that he could split a mountain and he was still controlling him enough to keep himself from doing so.

With an other jump he made his way down. This was the fifth mountain he crossed. And there were some more to come. With every step he became faster and the hammer in his hands felt lighter. He was on the way to fight a giant. The huge one had dared to insult the one the god loved. Now he would have to fight. Maybe that had been the reason for his missbehaviour. Many had tried to gain the god's hammer. But none of them ever had been successful. It would not be different this time. Thor knew this. The giant learned it on the hard way.

Steam the hunt is running for the sixth time now. 22769 takes part in the hunt and they created a great thor steampunk outfit. It comes even with a hammer. The other parts of it are a vest, fitting trousers a belt and a chestpart. All of those in typical steampunk colours. The chestpart contains some glowing lights and of course gears. The skin used comes from Fallen Gods Inc.. Its the angelus skin which is great for heros. Wasabi Pills made the hair. This is the male version of the dragon hair.

Bella Bella!

What's not to love about this whole look?! The gown just speaks for itself, it's a divine colour which has brought me many compliments, the texure is fabulous and detail meets the standards that I have come to associate with Vero Modero. the hat does not come with the dress although it looks like it was made for this outfit, that's all thanks to the fact that it comes with a colour change hud. Now if hats are your thing then you MUST visit  'Xen's hats' as there are so many different designs to choose from.

As for the shape well surely only one as curvy with such a pretty face can only come from one place? yep that's CS shapes. This particular shape has lots of thigh! but as is customary with bodies. from CS shapes it's all in proportion.

A taste of SL & a splash of the black market

There are some truly spectacular exclusive creations that have been released recently and I want to share just a few. Firstly I've always been a fan of Dreamscapes creations and I can't be enthusiastic enough about this weeks releases for The Taste of SL event (more details found at HERE) all the furnishings are part of the event so do be quick to bag a bargain! The Fireplace with cage books & candles are on offer but if you wear your TOSL group tag you will get  'Frames & more' free!

Next I want to gush lots about the skirt! I can without any hesitation say that this is the most beautiful, wonder skirt that I've ever owned in SL. I know that mesh can produce such incredible creations however try as I might I just cannot see mesh, regardless of what viewer I use & I was utterly convinced that this skirt by 22769 was mesh. I'm thrilled to say it isn't!! I can wear it! it has such a vintage feel to it with the most fabulous William Morris style print. It also has a high waist band (not best illustrated in my pics I have to say) and what's more is you can detach the bottom prim to make a pretty parachute style knee length skirt ..ahhhhhh fantastic!! It's only available until 13th December though as it's an exclusive design for The Black market event.

For the love of wool & leather

I'm in love with new releases at Love especially the cowlneck scarves. I a penchant for scarves it has to be said and I especially appreciate the range of print textures on these scarves, sometimes we need a nice pattern to jazz up a plain outfit not just a choice of colours rather than a plain scarf with colour options. The leather skirt is also a new release which I had fun mixing up with the wool tights & Jumper.

The Classic Ugg boots are also a new release from Skifija. As usual with Skifija footwear they come a colour change hud and so your Ugg boots will colour match any outfit that you wear. Unfortunately Goran (the mastermind behind Skifija) has discovered recently that some of his items have been copybotted and sold on the Marketplace. It's tricky to know whether your items are legitimate when you buy them from the marketplace and so I know in future that I shall go straight to store instead!

To catch a snowflake

Should the approach of winter be bleak? no! it should be full of wonderful vibrant winter colours! and I love nothing more than fabulous shades of purple and pink! and that's one reason that I was drawn to these amazing boots from Kristica created as a special limited offer for XYROOM (events run for 3 weeks before rotation)

This divine unisex hair is a current group gift at Dura and the scarf is also a group gift at SMS which comes in 2 colours with and without the brooch option. Gotta love this jumper which is a luckyboard item at Bonne Chance, there's also a mens version in green on the boards.

Now I hate to blog items that are no longer available and it annoys me when I see other blog posts that do as it always seems to be that I only want the item that is not available! however sometimes you put a look together and it's only when you go in store to make a slurl that you realise this error. The great news is in the case there are similar alternatives available. The trousers were a halloween gift at Pesca which are no longer available, however there are some very similar ones in different shades if you like the style. Likewise with the skin (former Zombie popcorn hunt item) but if you want a great freebie gift skin, and you do follow the slurl below the eagle eyed amongst you may still be able to catch the recent zombie popcorn hunt item which although has finished now is still in store.

Miamai has just recently released their latest Blacklabel-Collection named Chod, and I immediately fell in love with it. Black pearls, embedded in luscious, almost ethereally arranged folds of sheer cloth, fur and delicate lace are the main themes of those carefully crafted items - and a lot of dark glamour. I particularly love the overlong 'goth-sloth' sleeves which also look stunning worn without the rest of the jacket, and the loose-sitting and wide pants are not only comfortable, but also rich in detail and continue the jacket's theme, making them a perfect match.



The Begtse-pants are available in both black and white, whereas the Skanda-jacket comes in black only. Aviation

Yes Aviation and how ironic that I chose to stand by a train to pose you may well think? if I told you that aviation made it's greatest early progress in the 1920"s yes yes i'm in Berlin 1920's here....where is this going? I don't know let's get back to the fashion!

So the outfit  is named aviation - Oh wow and do I love it! it's a cleverly thought out design i'd say It has all that 1920's feel to it I could really see Harriet Quimby wearing this one!  and also my fellow blogger Sian, I think this is right up her street! there are 4 colours to choose from including a really nice citrusy one.  The boots fit perfectly too and match the belts and trim (from one of my favourite stores Les Petits details) they look like they were designed to go together don't they?

Unicorn Plague

Daewyn was surprised when suddenly an unicorn appeared in front of him. He had seen something white walk through the gras but he thought it would be a very big sheep. But then it stood in front of him. The hooves making nearly now sounds. The animal seemed to glow. And it walked closer to Daewyn bowing its head in front of him. Daewyn did not know what else to do than starting to stroke the head of the unicorn. Caressing its fur playing with streaks of its mane. He was surprised how much he liked the feeling he had when stroking the unicorn.

Daewyn had heared about unicorns but he supposed that they would not exist anymore. He had learened that they would be as mystical creatures as Dodos. So being curious he started to read and then he started to blush. Although the skin of his kin was dark and covered with scales he knew that his cheeks were glowing like a fire in the middle of the night. It had felt good to stroke the unicorn but he knew that if anybody would see it with him that person would know the secret he was hiding for ages. Daewyn was virgin.

It was hard enough that some people laughed about his love for well made battle boots. He had more than one pair of boots, which made him to a collector of boots in their opinion, as a
decent warrior was supposed to have only one pair of boots. Nobody cared about the fact that he was the only guy in the army who had no athlete's foot. They prefered to laugh about the three pairs of boots he owned. And now they would know that he was a virgin. Daewyn hoped that the unicorn would not visit him again. But the unicorn did not share his hopes. It visited him again as virgins were rare and it liked being stroked. Of course he had not planed to be a virgin. Being very young when joining the army it was difficult to meet decent women while he was traveling from battle to battle. He could have gone to prostitutes as the other soldiers but in his opinion this was wrong.

Daewyn was desperate. Being proud he did not want to be mocked at by his companions but the unicorn started to come around everyday. When one of the other soldiers found footsteps of it, Daewyn decided to leave the army. His plans were to go back to his lair supposing that the unicorn would not follow him to the cold north. So he quit the army. He was not to sad about having to do that. He had been much longer in the army than he had planed anyways and only because he enjoyed the fighting so much. So he went on the journey to get home again. But of course the unicorn followed him. In the following time it caused a lot of trouble especially when Daewyn talked to women he liked.

The Niberath boots from Wasabi Pills come in a set which contains them in three colours. They are well sculpted and have of course an resize script. It is amazing how martial and beautiful they look at the same time. But this is a general attribute of all the armours from Wasabi Pills. When looking closer at the boots the little flourish decorations are seeable which have been carved into them. For the pictures I combined the boots with parts of the white death armour and the Thalion hair from the same store. The unicorn is available at Studio Sidhe. It comes with several inbuild poses but it is also possible to use it just as an element of a picture.

Drow Sailor

Nisrama was not sure if it had been the right desicion to leave the caves of her homelands. But she was not doing well between the other Drow. Nisrama was very afraid of spiders. Not the best fear to have when Lloth is your goddess. After having managed to hide her fear for years her sister found out about it and Nisrama had to flee. Now she was wearing an outfit which was too big for her and had just been told to scrub the deck.

Of course she was glad that Captain Silverscale was willing to accept her as jack. But his name always irritated her. Nisrama knew the old sagas about Silverscale the dragon who fought in the battle of the nothern mountains. After somebody stole one of the eggs of his mate he ran berserk in that battle and killed an half army with his breath. It turned out that the egg had been stolen by other dragons and not by humans. The guilt of having ended so many lives was too much for Silverscale. He disappeared. Some of the sagas said that he would have transformed to a human form and would punish himself by living among them. But Nisrama was not brave enough to ask him.

22769 takes part in the Skulls'n'Bones Hunt. Their gifts are pirate clothes. The outfits contain trousers, a shirt, a belt and a bandana which is not on the pictures I took of the outfits. The linnenshirt comes on several layers and it is possible to resize all primparts of the outfit. The hair comes from Wasabi Pills. The one on the upper picture is the Juliette hair. This hair has a short pony and two little bangs at the side. It is good to wear while working on something as the hair won't be blown into the face. The one on the lower picture is the Thalion hair. This hair is perfect for elves or other fantastical beings. The Wasabi Pills store has been rebuild so its nice to take a look at it. The music there is also always great. The skin and the ears on the 1st picture are also a huntgift. They are the gift from LoveCats in the Midsummer Nights Dream Hunt 2. The gift also includes a make version of the skin. The skin on the 2nd picture is the Terra arkanum version of the Scales skin from Fallen Gods Inc. .

Jennifer

Well folks meet Jennifer she is the latest shape release at CS Shapes and I love her! Jennifer has been designed with a Brazilian body form in mind, so she is tall, leggy and has fabulous curves in all the right places & as you can see has the perfect pout! Where better to pick up a skin to match the shape than Shine who caters for Brazilian type skins. I've blogged Shines skins before and they're fantastic (p.s there is an mm board & luckychair there too).

If you're not familiar with CS Shapes then you should be because for me Xanthe Audeburgh gets the proportions absolutely perfect and I'm sure you'll agree we've all tried making our own shapes & it's much harder than you would think. CS Shapes has both male & female shapes & there are demos to try out so you can find the perfect you!

 Throughout my whole time in sl I kept the shape I made for myself  on my very first day, until  that is, I picked up Lana at CS Shapes at the surf N skate hunt. What  occurred to me  most about having this new shape is how great other skins looks on it, I'd tried so many skins in the past that didn't seem to suit my shape, REALLY!...sounds odd I know but it's true, so it just goes to show what difference a greatly designed shape makes!

This look is inspired by a friend who was saying that she wanted a new look, a kind of girl next door look, and I guess we have our own spin on what that look should be. I'm not even sure where that term comes from, but essentially it's an innocent, pure decent kinda girl, so my interpretation looks like this! I missed you dear blog

Arghhh I've been having internet issues for the best part of a week and although things have improved, they are still unresolved, but at least i'm back up & running in the world of blogging! oh and how I missed it. Well canIi apologise straight away if the quality of the pics isn't as good as it could be, but I was so keen to get a post published that I haven't devoted time to editing the pics...hope that doesn't defeat the object to much.

 In my first post for a week I wanted to give you a daytime  & night time look. I'm gonna be living in these dungarees! I absolutely LOVE everything from sheepdoor ! it's all unisex & so the dungarees are a great idea for change your gender challenge especially since they are a free group gift!

Another one of my favourites stores ( yeah I know I have many but there's so much great stuff out there!)  is Awram Viie and If you haven't already, get down there A.S.A.P for the latest luckyboard offerings. There are 2 dresses and this is one of them, oh but do beware this one barely covers your modesty :)

Acharon

Acharon enjoyed his mornings. It was the rare time when he could spend some moments alone. The best was he did not have to made any desicion. His mornings were planed or more he had a strict schedule of actions he performed after waking. Standing on the floor of his pyramid formed temple only he and some of his servants entered, he looked over the capital city of his empire. He was the Hybrid. The living god of the empire, the creature which was able to understand all the inhabitants of the land around the big river and the one who reigned all of them. Nobody ever tried to fight this system.

Of course only few knew that he was the 24th hybrid. Most of his subjects believed that the country had been founded by him. And that he also created the two races which lived in it. The human like noori and the reptilian saya. Acharon used to adress them with words like "my beloved children" or when he spoke with a saya "my beloved breed". But of course it was him who was the child of two races and not the father. Before the first hybrid had been created the noori and the saya nearly managed to kill each other completly. They were not able to understand the needs and reasons of the other race. The talents and abilities of each race were very different but their powers were equal, and they knew how to use their strenghts against the weaknesses of the other race. The noori usually attacked in the mornings, the reptilian saya were slow at this time of the day. They needed the sunlight to heat the thick blood in their veines but when having spend some time in the sun they became faster than any noori. Of course they used this against their foes. When some noori decided to try to darken the sky to keep the saya from the sunlight it was enough for some of the noori leaders. Being aware of the fact that the war against the saya would abolish both races at the end they started to try to communicate with some saya. They first formed a parliament in which both races would decide and create laws together but unfortunatly it didn't work to keep the humans and the reptilians from fighting against each other. So a small group started the hybrid cult.

They were very smart noori and saya and they knew more about the minds of their fellow beings than they wanted to know. And they hated to abuse this knowledge but they disliked the war more. It was them who created the story of the hybrid which created both races and it was also them who spend a lot of time with experimenting to create such a hybrid. Their cult grew slowly which allready brought a bit more peace to the land around the big river. And finally they managed to create the first hybrid. He hatched from an egg which had been layed by a human woman. After having been taught by both races he was ready to reign. So the priests of the hybrid cult started weekly ceremonies in which they called the hybrid and in the fifth he appeared the first hybrid appeared. He only had to open a hidden door and to walk into a room but for those who watched it looked like a miracle. So they respected him without that he needed to fight for power. The cult had managed to make the people willing to follow the hybrid. Acharon was one of the few who knew the whole story and he was aware of his duties. It was his existance which kept the peace but in the mornings he enjoyed the chance to bath alone in the river and to forget the weight of his position for a moment.

The idea of silks for men was alwas an idea I could not really follow. Until I put together a male avatar and tried the silks vom Al Jamal. The details of those are amazing and they cover everything which should be covered in public without hiding the beauty of the rest of the body. AL Jamal does not only offer silks they also sell fitting jewlery. For those who want to test the look of silks on their avatar there is a gift. Its the purple silks on the picture on the middle. Although it is a gift it has many details. I like that the ring which holds the loincloth isn t fully closed. The Aarat silks on the first picture have gems on the front. They are as all items from Al Jamal available in many colours and the colour of the gems always fits perfectly to the cloth of the silks. The armbands and the harness are designed to fit to the silks. The loincloth looks like being attached to the wire which holds the gems together. The Susa silks on the third picture look elegant with all the gold which has been used to create them. They also have gems on the front but at those silks they look like having been put on a plate of gold. The jinn cuffs go very well with those silks as they are also created by using gold. Fitting to the Susa silks is also a chestpiece available. The gems which have been used for it are the same as the ones on the silks. All the items from Al Jamal come with a resizescript. They are non copy but trans and include a giftbox in case that they should be a gift for somebody. It is worth to visit the store as they play very nice music there.
Fallen Gods Inc. is also a store where always nice music is played but of course the music is only one of the reasons to visit the store. An other important reason to visit Fallen Gods Inc. are the skins and other items which are sold there. The skin used in this blog entry is one of them. It belongs to the hybrid series. It would be more correct to speak of scales and not of skin in when it comes to the skin which has been used in this blog entry. It is available in several colours and even more face options. I liked the terra arkanum version best as it has intresting patterns on the forehead.
The hair comes from Wasabi Pills, it is the branch version of the maeve hair. I like the colour contrast of the hair in powder and the earthcoloured skin. And it amazes me that this very long hair goes so well with a very male looking avatar. So here the list of the used items.
