Plastik Men @ The Skin Fair 2015

In the darkness of the town the foghorn echoed across the port, the only sound of safety any could expect to hear at this hour. All other sounds were illicit; from the scratching of roaches and squeaking of rats in the walls, to the muffled footsteps, muted moans and snicker of blade coming from the depths of each alley.

Janus lingered here, and other sordid spots like it, each night. The heart of darkness was all he could offer at this hour, bringing a depth of shadow where it was needed, for tasks impossible, or improbable, to complete in the light. He cast no judgement, brought no crime into being. All he enabled, would be uncovered, when the time came.

Janus was a man of two faces, two sides of the same coin. Just as he brought darkness at times to all places, so he also brought light. Light didn't always mean sunshine, didn't always mean happiness, it meant sight and sight could uncover terrible things. Beauty was terrible, it could wound more terribly than hate.

He would weather the changes he brought, feeling them as keenly as any he affected.

Afternoon Of A Dragon

It was late afternoon and Uriella was quite ready for her proverbial 5 o'clock tea. Dragons had their habits, too, after all. She decided to assume her human form... those tiny wee teacups were not designed for claws, and she didn't want to break the last pieces from her mum's tea set. Uriella wrapped her long human fingers around the transparent bone china cup, and she sighed with relief. Winter was coming. She knew that... but she was fiery, ready and prepared.

Forest awakening

Deep in her heart was the forest. In the heart of the forest she dwelt. Pines and sentinals formed a near impenetrable barrier around the border; stray trees grew here and there, camouflage in the wilderness. Through the labyrinth of  thickets and thorns, near the centre of the forest, the trees grew less dense. Needles gave way to broad leaves, boughs and branches spread under sun and moon. The clearing ringed a tarn, neither deep nor broad enough to be called a lake, but it brought life to the whole wood, and to her. Each season she woke, covered in fallen leaves or encased in ice. The creatures of the forest scuttled over her skin rousing her from slumber. Water dripped from her hair as her bare feet curled into the leaf litter and loam. Sun and moon beams dappled her skin as she moved slowly around the clearing, her touch caressing bark and fur as she came back to life. Flames flickered, kindling into being on her horns, lighting up the night. Fully awakened, fully alive the forest around her bloomed or withered as was its season. In the clearing she held her court. The throne's eyes were open, the time for judgement was at hand. All the business of the forest must be conducted before the moon waned, and her candles guttered. So little time each season to take in all the beauty her energy created. The woods were so beautiful. She would take the time to enjoy them.

Vengeance in the woods

Arianna had searched the forest. Weeks had passed since she had heard from her elder sister. While this wasn't unusual in itself, her sister had been in touch so often lately, bragging of her new house. "Oh you should see the windows, they are so clear, clear as glass." She rolled her eyes, as line after line of script in her siblings cramped, arthritic hand slid through her mind's eye. "The walls, so straight, not askew and tumbledown like your town..." So she lived in a town, near to her friends, and yeah, the area wasn't exactly enticing to many, but Arianna loved it, so what? "My pride and joy is my new stove." her sister had bragged, "Not an easy thing to keep running, woodfired as it is, and the chimney going up through the roof. Those gingerbread tiles will have to be replaced at least every five years." Rounding the bend in the path, she stumbled, and came to a halt. The house, so beautifully rendered, was in ruin. Sugarwork windows smashed, gingerbread tiles sliding away from an enormous burned hole in the roof, the door, a masterpiece of the chocolatier's art hung from its candycane frame at a crazy angle, and inside...

Leading away from the destruction were footsteps, four small, and two huge.

Fantasy Faire 2014 - The Wind In Her Hair

Míwil Delimbiyra adored flying. She could never understand her elven brothers and sisters who always opted for a much more traditional way of transportation... walking on the ground. Maybe because they were actually her half-brothers and half-sisters, Míwil's mother being a fairy, a light, fragile, fluttering creature who couldn't stand the dark woods and one day simply disappeared? Míwil mourned her mother for years... then, one day, she discovered the beauty of flying. The wind in her hair... the feeling of freedom. "Thank you, Mother..." - she thought and soared up in the cool night air, towards the full moon and the stars.

Dress: "Evelyn" in Aqua by Les Encantades. Anouk Haiku and her brand, Les Encantades, are another new discovery at the Fantasy Faire. When I first arrived to her shop I couldn't believe my eyes: the gowns and outfits were beautiful, available in lovely gem colours with very pretty detailing, and the prices were more than reasonable... so I started shopping with a certain frenzy, I must say. :) The gown I'm showing you here is available in the main shop only, but "Les Encantades" has some beautiful RLF donation items in one of the cheerful little huts at Wiggenstead Mooring - pay a visit there, and pick up either the "Giulietta" gown in Ruby, or "Edda" in Summer, in order to donate to RLF (200 L$ each).

Fantasy Faire 2014 - Minoan

The sun was setting and the first torches were already lit. The High Priestess adjusted the last fold of her heavy ceremonial dress. She felt the weight of the ancient crown on her forehead and the weight of duty on her shoulders. The latter was much, much heavier, she thought. She also took the golden sceptre... although it was a mere symbol and not a real source of power, but the ceremonial rules required her to carry it anyway. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment... then she was ready to enter the Labyrinth. The Minotaur was waiting in the dark.

Those two pointy-eared guys at 22769 did it again! I was already squeaking with glee when I could see their creations at the last Fantasy Faire (I'm still in love with those elven ears...), and now I'm amazed how their mastery in fantasy art has developed in a year. They were already excellent at making modern clothing and furniture; now, in an eyeblink, they conjure up shoulder pet dragons and spectacular crowns from nothing. Paco and Manuel, I soo told you that you must continue with your fantasy line... it's an absolute success, you urban elves. :)

Staff: Snoodle's Inferno Fire Staff Version 3 - a RFL donation item (149 L$). I confess I didn't know anything about Yap Snoodle until he sent me a polite message - which is very nice, coming from a practising goblin :) -, asking me whether I was interested in blogging about his goodies. When I received the Inferno Fire Staff I was quite happy I had said yes. It is a pretty mixture of moving and fixed parts, and it can be much more than an accessory, as the staff also allows to be scripted for combat. Yap's tent, full of interesting gizmos, is at Mourningvale Thicket - definitely worth a visit!

Pose: "Symmetry" by HelaMiyo, and old and absolute favourite (25 L$ for a single pose, 100 L$ for a pack of five poses).

Fantasy Faire 2014 - Twilight Huntress

The most dangerous beast come out to hunt at twilight. She knew that since she had been born. Her mother taught her well. The noises, the smells, the slight changes in the air ... foreboding and also forewarning signs for a huntress. She prickled her ears. Could that be... an Amphisbaena? No, she should have heard some soft hissing if it were. And those shadows? Just some tree branches, or... were they antlers? Maybe a Peryton...? She took a deep breath and began her long and patient stalking after the magnificient creature.

The list of designers participating at this year's Fantasy Faire is more than impressive, and a pleasure to read... so many old friends and acquaintances, and so many new creators that all offer their lovingly crafted pieces for a good cause!

Fantasy Faire 2013 - The Green Queen

The Green Queen surveyed her realm with quiet, content happiness. The land was flourishing under her benevolent rule, and the people prospered. She walked around in the castle garden, caressed a tree leaf now and then. Everything felt so... alive, vibrating, growing, multiplying. The Green Queen kneeled down and touched a flower. She was serene, yet a shadow of sadness veiled her heart. Her time in the realm was so brief.

Indeed, she was to abdicate in a few weeks and her throne would pass to the Golden Queen... who, when her time came, would surrender the lands to the Red Queen and she, to the White Queen. The Green Queen was still sad, but when she remembered that the White Queen's reign would last but a few months and then she would ascend the throne in her full emerald glory again, she smiled and caressed another leaf.

I've known of the existence of the two guys behind "22769" for quite a long time - I always pay attention when a friend, whose habits don't include showering anybody with easy compliments, speaks of someone in the highest terms possible. Alas, it also seemed that Paco Pooley and Manuel Ormidale would focus their attention mainly on modern clothing... well, they treated steampunk fans to some tidbits from their "22769 Vintage" series now and then, but that was all, as far as fantasy stuff went. Yet, a flicker of hope scintillated in the horizon... Paco and Manuel wear elf ears, together with their jeans and t-shirts and sneakers! And indeed, the call of the pointy ears has proven too strong to ignore, and this year 22769 have their store in the Fantasy Faire, filled with goodies for the fantasy folk to enjoy.

... and you two, you will continue the vintage line, will you...? Pretty please?

Fantasy Faire 2013 - One Wee Goat

Marjoriana considered herself a smart, no-nonsense girl. In summer, when the whole village worked in the fields and the old women entertained the kids with spooky stories about the creatures that lived in the woods, Marjoriana giggled, wrinkled her nose and tried to look superior. Nobody would feed her that, for sure. Dancing lights that sing a lullaby so you fall asleep for a century? Sweetly smelling mushrooms that taste like strawberries, but after you eat one your skin turns scaly like a snake's? Bah, and bah again, Marjoriana thought.

One very hot summer afternoon Marjoriana became so thirsty that, instead of going back to the village well, she decided she would look for some water in the woods. The "enchanted" forest looked peaceful and the girl soon found a pretty spring, the water was sweet and Marjoriana was quickly sated. "Well, y'know-all aunties, what do you say now?" - she giggled, stood up, and started walking back, towards the village... but she stopped immediately as she didn't know where those cloppity-clopping noises came from. Then she looked down her feet and started screaming like a banshee.

I don't really believe in "destiny" but I admit I was quite amazed when I first read the list of the designers whose work I was to show you during the Faire, and I found the names of Baldur Darkwatch and Vital Tigerpaw, the owners of "!Completely oBVious!", on it. It was an act of divine justice, more like... because I still have a bad conscience about a gift I didn't blog during the last Medieval Fantasy Hunt. It was a splendid Elven warrior lady outfit, created by Vital; what left a deep impression in me was not only the outstanding quality of her work but also the accompanying notecard, in which Baldur and Vital politely apologised for the imperfections and promised to do better next time. Then my RL became busy, the hunt ended, and I've had a remorse ever since... until now. Well, it's been a long day...

So they said at the end of each day, and the end of each night, as they traipsed in, singly, and in pairs, filling up the booths and barstools at the Supernaturella Café.

Nyx and Electa had been friends for many years, having met right here at the end of another long, and long forgotten days work. The Café was out of time, having rested, in one form or another, exactly where it lay through time out of mind. The faces frequenting it altered, new ones came, old ones faded, or burned all the brighter for their years. None of them came here for the coffee, that sludge had not lasted so well, but it passed the time while waiting for friends, warming hands that passed through the ether to lead the living, for fair reasons, or for foul. The demon and the ghost were often on the same side, the overruling passion of mischief uniting their goals. Still, sometimes each would do what was right and good to their own eyes, putting them in opposition, but work was work, and at days end, their friendship was stronger than anything.

As the evening drew on, they were joined at the sticky, coffee-ringed table by other friends, also longstanding patrons of the Café. Few places attracted such an eclectic clientele, it was a place to rest after all, to replenish, where causes and concerns, and battles for souls and lives were left outside. Ezriel and Kip had shared many nights, many drinks, and even more laughs in this rusty old Café. Sliding over the vinyl seats, resting weary bones in the company of their mates. As the last Buddy Holly track flipped into play in the old jukebox, the evening of relaxation, of sharing stories in safety wound to an end. Rising, they headed outside, arm in arm, ready now to find more fun in the darkness, as the 'CLOSED' sign was flipped in the window.

Make your bones

There were many ways to do it, but it always had to be done. Until you made your bones in the world, you were nothing. There would be risk at all times, but this rite of passage meant something to anyone recognising the sign of it.

At first glance, a casual observer would not know of her status, of what she had done. That was the point of course. At this stage of her career, she needed to be able to blend in with the crowd, hiding her hard won markings under clothing to pass along the streets in the smarter areas of town. These forays into smart suburbia funded many a decadent habit, and with the access to businesses, and abodes that the relevant costumes gave, along came ample chance to case future crimescenes. This innocuous facade was easily discarded back on her own turf, when she would return to clothes chosen according to her taste and style.

Of course, back in the district her bones had brought her, low cut clothes that showed off her signature ink were fantastic, but not something she always felt she had to wear. Her bones, hard earned, were hers to display. They demanded respect from others, anyone looking twice knew what she was capable of, what she could achieve. This brought trouble from challengers, and admiration from acolytes. As meaningful and beautiful as these macabre designs were, she didn't mind at all.

Here is the first in a series showcasing some of the designs currently available at +REDRUM+. There's a lot of MESH items, which are available in the range of standard sizes, so if you are willing to shape yourself to fit these, there are some fantastic designs. Here, the Wolf is one of a range of dark themed and grungy tops, paired with jeans, textured with x-rays of the bones they conceal. Of course, I love the Ribs tattoo, clear and concise detail, shown here on a full tattoo layer, two other versions included.

The small town folk may well have heard about them, notorious as they are. They had made headlines, evaded convictions, escaped the gallows.. and ended up here.

Alyssa, the eldest of The Three, had charm and grace. Her skills lay in flexibility of body and mind, she ensnared the weak with a glance, and bent the most steadfast to her will with a smile. Accused, and found miraculously innocent of several high value confidence tricks, none of the millions that had been 'lost' had ever been found. Rumour has it that she keeps the keys to several safety deposit boxes tucked inside her boots. Don't step too close as you watch her bend and flex before you on the balance balls, that glint in her eye will do you no good...

Bella, the second of The Three, stalked the shadows at the edges of the day, and came into her own as night fell. Her skills lay in dexterity and stealth, she could pick a pocket, and lift your wristwatch with ease. In the darkest of nights, it was rumoured that she could blend into any crowd unseen. When her luck did not hold, and the cold metal of handcuffs graced her delicate wrists, as with her elder sister, she evaded the noose by means fair or foul. Come a little closer, watch her spin on the hanging hoop, but mind your valuables are still with you if you leave...

Celeste, the youngest of The Three, had the air of innocence and sweetness. Her skills lay in beguiling and insinuating herself into the psyche of her victims. She could break your heart with a single tear, and wrench it out just as easily with cruel fingers. The bloodiest of The Three, her freedom may surprise you, warrants and dark suited agents follow in her wake, each trying, unsuccessfully thus far, to connect her to her crimes. Enjoy her skills as she twists and balances on the chair, should you see her again, beware...

Go With The Flow... Flower With The Drow!

Irrolin eyl’Zebeyriina was a powerful Drow magician and a priestess, the pride of her mother and her entire family. She was tall and slender, she moved with fluid grace, she was perfectly trained in the art of warfare… but her most dangerous weapons were her bright intelligence and her ability to cast arcane spells and curses with the lethal, smooth swiftness of an arrow shot from the crossbow of a seasoned warrior.

Yet, it is written that even the best may be bested. One day Irrolin engaged in a magical duel with an unknown Drow and, despite the legendary ability of her race to resist hexes and jinxes, she felt rather weird after the duel was concluded. She annihilated her enemy... but why was he smiling so oddly while he was slowly turning into grey dust and black pebbles? Irrolin got her answer the following morning, when her mother started shrieking after the first glance cast upon her daughter, and her family promptly banished her from their splendid residence in the Underworld.

She was covered in flowers... terrible, disgusting, colourful, smelly, sticky, living things from the Upperworld! So Irrolin spent the rest of her long, long life in an Upperworld forest, she bred big, poisonous spiders for a living, and everybody who just hinted at her being a “flowery Drow” found themselves turned into a toad or – when Irrolin was in a particularly foul mood - something definitely worse... like a potted geranium.

The “Wear Gray for a Day” event has entered its second week. While many SL residents already prepare for the forthcoming Fantasy Faire and there are so many other shopping events still running, please find some time to hop over to the Wear Gray sim and leave a few Lindens in order to assist research into brain tumour diagnosis, treatment and care. I also thought brain tumour only happened to „others” until a friend was diagnosed with it… happily married, mother of a baby boy, at the age of 32.

Gardener

Drow, when beings which weren't drow heard that word it made them shiver. They knew that the ones who lived deep in the mountains were more to fear than the worst giant. A long time ago Druunak had been a drow and he agreed. It was smarter to flee from them although it was hardly possible to escape them. As all of his kin he had spend his youth in dark caves somewhere under the mountains always in danger. The next drow was always the next possible killer. For some time he enjoyed it. The silent killings, the intrigues and the parties - which only lead to more killings and intrigues. But then he started to get bored and saw no sense in playing the typical games. Although it were games which could cause his dead he simply wasn't thrilled anymore. Searching for more deepth he made his way up to the surface.

First the bright sunlight hurt his eyes. Everything else would have been surprising. After a while he started to wander downhill and was soon amazed by all the flowers and trees he saw. The naturewas totally different for him. He also met people well met would have been wrong he saw people but they ran away from him, in his opinion they were pretty slow. But then he saw a man working in a garden and approached him and the man didn't run away. The man was old for a human, which meant he was a child for Druunak, but a child with knowledge he wanted so the Drow became the apprentice of the gardener. And finally found something which was better than killing for the sake of killing and more power. Slowly people even got used to seeing him working in the garden. But always when somebody got killed he had to deal with people singing a german song "Der Mörder ist immer der Gärtner".

22769 takes part in two events for men at the moment and for both they created mesh items. For the 3rd round of the narcissus room they made a green hipster jumper. The way the folds are designed is awesome. As the shirt is made of mesh it comes with a alphalayer. It should fit any avatar. The slacker pants are designed for the Mens Departement event. They do not need an alphalayer and are perfect to wear in the morning or when walking around in a casual way. The mens.department event will start at April 7st. There is a group you can join to get more informations about it. Even the poses come from 22769, they were a gift for the bloggers who took part in the 22769 in the blogs exhibition.
The crazy hair hunt runs currently for the third time. The blonde hair with the flowers is the gift from (red) Mint. Its one of the few gifts in the hunt which also go for men - at least thats what I have been told - and is really pretty. The hair comes with a resize script and the gift includes a version with and one without particles.

Wrong Mermaids

The waves stroked her feet while she wandered over the water. It was typical for her kin to wander over the water. All of them were great swimmers and even able to fly when they were in their true form. But of course it was more fun to surprise sailing humans. When she was younger she sometimes had pretended to be a mermaid with a lack in singing abilities but after a while it bored her. So she started to climb onto anchoring ships. Of course humans were always a bit irritated by her horns and ears but they always supposed that they were kind of decoration and of course they were sure that she somehow had managed to get into the ship before they started sailing and not that she found them in the middle of the ocean. Depending on the age and the gender of the sailors she started to tell them stories. For example that she would be the secret daughter of one of them. When she found sailing couples she normaly pretended to be the secret lover of the woman. It was always entertaining and she did not need to sing to have some fun with humans.

Evie's Closet is a great store when it comes to fantasy outfits for females. Their items range from fairy dresses over gowns for humans to mermaid outfits. This nymph dress is in-between. It consists of primparts which seem to be made of a very thin fabric and of a scale layer for the bottom and the top. It also can be worn without the systemlayer for the top but then it is not possible to wear the outfit on a pg sim. Included in the set are also a gem for the forehead and armpieces which have been made of pearls. The top was first too big for my avatar but the creator recommended to put a resize script into it, which helped and so it was possible to make it fit at the end. Evie's Closet has a 50% sale going on at the moment so its worth to visit the store and to have a look at all the fantastic dresses.
The long hair comes from Magika. It consists of two parts which makes it possible to wear it even with a rather bouncy ao. The set also contains a mirrored version and it is possible to dye the streak at the side in a different colour than the rest of the hair. The resizescript which is being controlled with a hud resizes both parts of the hair at the same time. That means its very easy to adjust the hair to the avatar.
The ears come from the Plastik. They have a bunch of tiny keys hanging of them.

Voodoo

The lunar phase was perfect. Xylia had spend some nights on building the voodoo doll. The spells would have worked as well at an other time but being able to use the full power of the moon was of course better. For the ritual she allready had put some blood into her face. Now she only needed to wait for the night.

The 5th round of the zombie popcorn hunt started yesterday and as always the prices are amazing. The green hair comes from Iren. It has a resize script and the cut is nice. Belote has the dress with the fitting stockings as huntgift. It comes on several layers. Virtual Insanity made a piercing for the lip which has pretty textures. The skin is a huntgift from the Plastik in the macabre hunt which ends today. There is also a male skin in the gift and the female one comes with several cleavage options. The set also contains blood on the tattoo layer. The tattoo on the neck is the gift from Needful Things. The boots are available at death row designs. Epic made this very cute Voodoo doll backpack.

Vacations

Kernin enjoyed the time at the beach. Normaly he managed to go once or twice a year on holidays. It was great in his opinion. He spend his time with relaxing on the dock. Sometimes he fished or used the boat to mow over to the riff where he collected shells.

His holidays were the only time in the year in which he was able to wear jeans and shirts. It was the only time in which he was able to wear modern clothing at all. He loved it. It was so different and definitly worth traveling for a long time.

But as one of the seven elven kings he needed to be sure that nobody would see him while he wore clothing which had been created by humans for humans. Kernin sometimes wished that he would be able to stay away from it. Once his brother had caught him in jeans. Luckily Keron wasn't intrested in being king himself else he would have abused the knowledge about his brothers love to human clothes. Instead he helped Kernin to travel through the planes to the only place where he could wear what he loved.

At the 25th July was the birthday of the owner of the Plastik and she made an awesome gift to her group. A bag filled with skins, outfits and more. This blue skin is one of those. The bag contains items for both genders and is still available in the old groupnotices of the Plastik Group. You only need to open them and to save the attachment. The tattoo is an other gift from this group. The green eyes are currently a freebie at poetic colours. And the hair is also a freebie. It comes from Exile and is normaly for women but looks also great on guys. The clothing comes mainly from 22769. They have nice items for mens which are easy to combine. The prim parts are mod and come when they have been created by using more than one prim wit a resizescript. I like the black silk shirt very much which is causual and elegant at the same time. The baggy shorts could be combined easily with any t-shirt. The espandrillos are brand new and available in many colours.

Two suns

They danced again. It was that day when the leaves and the flowers were covered with a golden glow. The one day in the year they were close.

Iaor and Iasha the twin suns. Nobody ever had expected that there would be twin suns again. There had been twin suns before but all of them created chaos. They tried to be more beautiful than the other one and started try to shine brighter than their sibling. Because of their silly competitions they devasted planets and uncountable beings were killed. But all of those twins had the same gender. So Iaor and Iasha were different. They managed to work together. And once a year they met to dance a whole day together. The twinsuns needed this day to make desicions together. While the beings on their planets stared up to the now visible stars.

The temple of Fallen Gods Inc. has been rebuild and reopened. To celebrate this the fortune teller returned so that it is possible to find your soulmate at Fallen Gods Inc. again. When finding that person you also win the wonderful Aureum skin. The skin is golden and well shaded. The pack contains a male and a female version of it and even fitting clothing. Storm and I picked both white hair to combine it with the skins. He choosed Lust which is currently in the sale at Magika and I used the from Wasabi Pills. The silks he is wearing are the special edition silks for July from Al Jamal. They come with a resize script and are very detailed. The rainbowsilks are available on the Deviance lucky chair.

Doll Spell

This morning when i woke up i feel odd. Suddenly i realize i wasn't able to move as i usually do. Little by Little i stand up and move one foot at the time. I feel my skin tight... I was so confuse, i looked for the mirror and i cound't belive it what i saw. My mouth was wide open, and, and...
OMG I WAS A DOLL...
I look closer and i found out i have one eye grey and the other purple, this thing in my back, and i wasn't able to fit my shoe in my foot... I was close to tears and looking for an explanation, i was confuse, and.... then it hits me.
A few days ago i was making some work for my class of ancient history, about celtic spells and this page felt out of the book, it was a poem. I took it but it wasn't the poem what call my attention, but how it looks in the girls body. So i decided to do it in my body, a new tatto to complement the ones i already have.

I call my mom and ask for money because i need and I make the appoinment at Plastik tattoo salon. I have to say the girl did a great job, and she is soo nice. But then this, i think is related with the poem..

So I took the phone and called my teacher and ask about the poem, and he explained to me that it is an old spell that turn little girls into Dolls....

So now i have this something in my back, a tattoo i cannot take off, and omg did i mention i am a doll...
