Heaven and Hell

The borders of heaven and hell were a strange place. These two worlds touched all the time, but only fleetingly. The briefest kiss. Darkness and light, neither could exist without the other, but they could never be in the same place either, and that made things difficult for those trapped in each realm.

Eiael was from the realm above and the shadow of her heart, Eurynome, from the realm below. Dark eyes had met light aeons ago in the early times of wars between those in the light, and those who had tumbled into darkness. Neither had stepped foot in the world of the other, they would meet during battles on the plane of forgetting, crossing rivers without name on mounts of shadow and dazzling light. Wings would carry them above the melee, above the masses of those at war, above the pooling blood of each side, mixing and melding in the dust from which man was created.

Such battles were now rare, the dust lay still. Each side knew the strengths and weaknesses of the other, and saw no point in wasted effort. Away from the cries and ululations of war, in the peace, they could only hope to meet at these rare crossings. Fingertips touching across the border, across the void. A distance both infinitesimal and wide beyond measure, where only true love could reach.

 Soon enough, the realms would drift apart, Eurynome and Eiael would go back to their own. The earth and all those on it would be between them again. Time would pass, and they would wait.

For each there was only the other. They would wait, and they would watch. One looking up, the other down, until the shifting of the worlds brought them back together again.

These outfits from Lazybones were another find for me at the Depraved Nation Block 100 event.

So different from the other 'street clothes' I'd bought there, these were worth a post all of their own. Lazybones Anna's Secret (White) and Lazybones Nina's Secret (Black) are fantastic Angelic / Demonic whichever takes your fancy outfits, a step outside the norm with spikes in silver or gold - both black and white options have both metal choices. Appliers for your Lola's mesh bewbs are also included, and the attachment parts of the outfit are all menu driven for resizing.

Down at the Sea Hole

Decades could pass without there being a night to rival this one. Years had infact, since these two, in one form or another, had been together last. In the world as is was now - such things could happen. One had remained in the city most nights, causing trouble and looking after her cat. The other, well, it was her story to tell, and it would unfold through time. One thing had not changed though the intervening years, despite deaths, possessions, insanity and a desire to shop.

That night, it had been all about the 1950s. An amusing remembrance for one, perhaps a first time thrill for the other as she pulled on the ruffled silk and net layers of the full flared skirt. Hair high, heels higher, and with Spot for company, they would find a dive somewhere in town with a swinging beat, and dance till dawn.

Oh, as much as I loved shopping for this - I am more saddened at the impending closure of the store the beautiful items came from. The Sea Hole est. 2008 will be closing at the end of May 2013. Over the years creator Drinkinstein Sorbet - who also has one of the best names I've seen in SL - has created really really beautiful clothes. The colour palate is one of muted elegance, with an occasional sidestep into summer brights. Classic tailoring and style are the norm - with a crazy sprinkling of haute couture madness thrown in - check out the Octo-dress. I can't claim any knowledge of the reasons behind the closure, but can only wish Drinkinstein the best - and as is my usual selfish way - keep my fingers crossed for a return someday.

Until then - you have until the end of May to get to The Sea Hole and pick up some bargains as items have been reduced to L$ 50 each. Here, Cadence and I are wearing the Lorette Mesh skirts from the Gatcha - L$125. Cadence is in Crimson, and I'm wearing it in Enchanted Pool.

S U G A R has done it again at the XYRoom Event!

As may have become apparent by now, I tend towards the darker, the more sinister - really - the bloodier the better for me in SL. Sometimes however, something utterly out of character comes along, and I just have to have it. Have to wear it, and not just for a few pictures for this blog!  I mean, full on, have my very dark and sinister RP character lose grip on her reality, or get high as a kite, just to be able to keep on wearing it.

This is one of those times.

Ok. That's enough of that! While they were well aware of the song, their tastes had moved on a bit. As a group of people, they were a rarity. Sisters...

Sisters, sisters. There were never such devoted sisters. There never were indeed. Devotion didn't mean however, that you had to get on all of the time.


Nine months was a long time to be in such close confines as they had endured, and the years that followed conspired to keep them together.

Mostly they could have some fun. Each enjoyed her own style, her own look above the others. They would always be as negative versions of each other, two sides of the same coin.
What's that?

Sneaky hint here - if you want different colours on each hand - wear one with the HUD - set it how you like, detatch, wear the other hand, set as you like, remove the HUD, and wear both sets. Bazinga. Glittery goodness for you fingers in a plethora of brights.

The new round at the XY Room event is coming up on March 1st - and here's a sneaky peek at some of the items involved!  The outfit is a fabulous tank dress - 'Polka Cuteness' - by Sugar. All MESH, with sizes to fit your form. The dress itself is far from all on offer. The armwarmers I love, on the band at the top are little buckles which while being very cute, give the look a little edge. Then we have the long socks. There are two options to these, just the socks, or as shown here, with sneakers too. 

Then we get to the skin... :Sugar: [1] RB Irelynd {12} F Cleavage & Teeth as shown here is a beautiful pale skin, an ode to those from the Emerald Isle. Red brows suit the tone of the skin so well, you could team it with any colour of hair really, though it calls out for firey auburn. Freckles and dimples are optional add ons to create a look that suits you. Rich green and pale gold shadow lines the eyes. Of course you can layer up whichever shadow, liner or tattoo you like from your collection - but this is a beautiful natural look all on its own.

Circus of Cats

The cold and dreary days and nights of this circus were done. The humans, with their whips, cages and silly clown cars were gone, perhaps dragging some different mountain of canvas to other unloved patches of ground on the outskirts of towns that never quite made it onto maps. 

Now the Circus of Cats went only where suited its performers, namely anywhere warm. The crowds would turn up wherever they decided to perform.

Jinx had taken the ringmaster's jacket from its former owner, along with the canvas from which he had fashioned his trousers, in lieu of cash money owed from a final hand of poker on the night they had won the whole enterprise. The whip he had thrown away, no need for it now they were working for themselves.

Sasha had kept hold of her costumes from their lives before. No matter what the situation, she would never have worn anything she hadn't liked. Besides, most of them were sparkly. No good for the workout before the show, that demanded comfort every bit as much as she demanded style. Favouring pink, which contrasted so nicely with her own colouring, the heart motifs pleased her, the sweetheart of the show.
Now the cats of the circus had become the Circus of Cats, in charge, and doing as they liked, as cats of all kinds are apt to do. Feline grace made the most difficult tricks and moves look easy, and yet still they would practice. Sasha trying out new routines, settling spins, twists and turns into muscle memory as Jinx worked on speeches to whip the coming crowds into a frenzy. This tom was a born showman. Mimicry of the blustering performance of his predecessor made her laugh, and would bring cheers from the crowd once they filled the old bench seats. For now, they would enjoy the atmosphere in the tent, in the brief moments while the other cats were carrying out their own preparations, the baited breath silence made their time alone together all the more special.

Love Hurts

As the day of the Saint rolled closer and closer, love was in the air. Valentine had never set foot here, few would by choice. Few, but some. The darker alleyways are sometimes the best places for some lovers to meet, after all, who would look to find them both there?

The demon and the angel had met there once by chance, many years before. The alleyway had grown no cleaner over time, though at least the body of the one whose soul each had come to claim that fateful night had gone. Food no doubt for the rats which scurried ceaselessly between crates and trashcans. Love like this was not something that could be explained, too close to hate as it was. They should loathe each other, and certainly, each felt nothing but repulsion for all the other stood for. Despite all of this, love was what it was.

Whenever good and evil came together, there was bound to be violence. Angels would do all they could to be good and fair, and Demons likewise to be destructive and evil. Violent passion drew them back there each time, despite the inevitable pain that would follow.  Far from these opposites of feeling, emotion and nature cancelling each other out to some even keel, sparks would fly, and blood would flow.

Each time they met, there would be love. At each meeting; pain. The cycle continuing on and on throughout the ages.  As they loved each other, the Angel would give up his heart, and the Demon, she would eat it...

A space oddity...

YYYAAAWWWWWWNNNNNNNN!!!

It had been a long day alright, with lectures and seminars, then time in the research library, all before the hours volunteering at the planetarium. Even after the long days work Estella could lose herself in the stars, tracing their paths across the manufactured sky, enlightening those who came to see the show. Educating without ever boring, her passion for the subject shone through. As happy to talk through complex theories as she was to create stories to inspire young minds about other worlds, but now her day was done, it was time to sleep.

Closing her eyes, the world never went away, rather it opened up into her dreams.

Transported across lightyears to where she felt free, she would dance through the cosmos. Stepping lightly on belts of meteors, she could move without gravitys restriction, tails of comets brushing through her hair as she gazed on sights unseen. Planets passed by as she traced the orbits of moons, learning things about the universe and herself that she could never explain. Worlds everywhere would turn, as would those on them, in their dreams. Estella would stay here as long as she could, galaxies spiralling in her eyes.

Uh oh....
  Of course she had known better... Even as a young elf, it had always been...
           
               "Rachael, stay away from the sleigh!"
                                                                                "Rachael, stop messing around in the snow!"
                                                "Rachael put that reindeer fawn down!"

It wasn't like she had never been told. It was just that she didn't want to listen. Listening to the don'ts just wasn't fun.

Crashing the sleigh... well. Accidents happened.

The reindeer were all safe, if not entirely steady on their feet yet, after she had extracted them from the various trees in which they had landed. The sack, as it blazed, contained no toys destined for good boys and girls... part of the reason she assumed the whole thing had gone up in flames so quickly was the sheer amount of lumps of coal due to be taken to the naughty and bad. Really, she reasoned, she had done the whole North Pole a favour, discovering this safety flaw without anyone getting hurt. It had been one helluva ride on the way down too!

As an elf, she didn't feel the cold. Even out here in the depths of whichever snowy forest she had landed in, the furry hems of her dress kept her warm, the flaming sleigh playing its part as a source of heat, and also, she hoped, as a beacon to let anyone looking for her find her before too long. While it burned she had time to play in the snow, creating displays with her elf magic that amused her, all the moreso as they would never have been allowed to grace the official tourist photos of the pole. This accident was turning into a good night off!
