Fantasy Faire 2017 - The Butterfly Wrangler

Other towns had rats and mice for vermin… the City of Purple Dawn had butterflies.

Each year, when the first buds started blossoming on the pink-and-blue Dreamcatcher Trees, the elderly and experienced inhabitants of the City of Purple Dawn pulled out their protective hats and veils from the wardrobe, because they knew the butterflies would swarm in very soon... and when the butterflies swarmed, they meant business.

When the situation became really desperate, and the inhabitants of the City of Purple Dawn could not leave their homes because there were butterflies everywhere, hanging from the trees, walking on the ground, fluttering in the air, the Council of the Wise knew it was time to call Her... Their saviour and benefactor, the Butterfly Wrangler.

There she came, a beautiful and calm woman, quietly humming a mysterious tone, a cage with a few captive butterflies in her hand. The sea of colourful insects parted before her; then their swirling dance slowly changed as they started following the Butterfly Wrangler, one lepidopteran after another, then dozens, then hundreds, then millions. 

The Butterfly Wrangler was leading them out of the City of Purple Dawn, her figure became small in the distance, surrounded by a dancing and vibrating cloud of colours... and the inhabitants of the City of Purple Dawn sighed, pulled out their brooms from the cupboard, and started cleaning up the streets after the invasion of the flying six-legged vermin.

Farewell to the Fantasy Faire 2013

The week of the faire, the great coming together of such disparate races and peoples, was coming to its conclusion. Their work, for now, was nearly over; though it never truly ended. All the wares, along with the hopes and dreams of designers and merchants would be packed up, and taken back to their homes, their own lands. As the sun began to dip, the warm stones of Magnificat harbour made an excellent place for Fiammetta to sit, and watch the others as they took their leave.

It was always such a sad time, this departure. The week of the faire had been as joyous, and as poignant as ever. Strangers coming together in the name of a good cause in lands so beautiful few would ever want to leave, but when they did, it would be with new friends, comrades in the fight they all faced. This remarkable, fantastical world held so many wonderful people, it warmed her heart every bit as much as the sun warmed her skin. Watching the boats sail smoothly from the harbour, a soft breeze picked up from the centre of the Fairelands, helping each to their homes. This was the wind of change that they inspired, each year it was stronger and it would continue to grow. Sending the tresses of her hair dancing, the wind reminded them all that by working together, this was a fight

they would win.

Oh I am going to miss this place!!!  Thankfully, these items are coming home with me!

Fantasy Faire 2013 - The Green Queen

The Green Queen surveyed her realm with quiet, content happiness. The land was flourishing under her benevolent rule, and the people prospered. She walked around in the castle garden, caressed a tree leaf now and then. Everything felt so... alive, vibrating, growing, multiplying. The Green Queen kneeled down and touched a flower. She was serene, yet a shadow of sadness veiled her heart. Her time in the realm was so brief.

Indeed, she was to abdicate in a few weeks and her throne would pass to the Golden Queen... who, when her time came, would surrender the lands to the Red Queen and she, to the White Queen. The Green Queen was still sad, but when she remembered that the White Queen's reign would last but a few months and then she would ascend the throne in her full emerald glory again, she smiled and caressed another leaf.

I've known of the existence of the two guys behind "22769" for quite a long time - I always pay attention when a friend, whose habits don't include showering anybody with easy compliments, speaks of someone in the highest terms possible. Alas, it also seemed that Paco Pooley and Manuel Ormidale would focus their attention mainly on modern clothing... well, they treated steampunk fans to some tidbits from their "22769 Vintage" series now and then, but that was all, as far as fantasy stuff went. Yet, a flicker of hope scintillated in the horizon... Paco and Manuel wear elf ears, together with their jeans and t-shirts and sneakers! And indeed, the call of the pointy ears has proven too strong to ignore, and this year 22769 have their store in the Fantasy Faire, filled with goodies for the fantasy folk to enjoy.

... and you two, you will continue the vintage line, will you...? Pretty please?

Eyes: "Komodo Eyes" in "WisdomSage" by Sterling Artistry - this beauty is also a FF exclusive (85 L$) that you can find in Silverr's shop in Titans' Hollow.

Demons in the blood at the Fantasy Faire

Hathaema dwelt in a blood red world, it was all she saw through eyes of pure plasma. Each pulse within those around her sent a fresh wave of life through her. As the moon pulled at the sea to form the tides, so she was pulled by the rhythmic beating of others' hearts; she was mostly blood after all. She would argue that she was Blood, Blood with a capital B, its signifier, its emblem, its Queen. She was the blood of everything, the vitae in animals, plants and other more obscure creations. Ancient blood and bones, compressed over the centuries to be released at last, burned in engines, her latest altars. This oil, this newest form of her blood coated her skin, shining with the sheen of a puddle of gasoline. Moving through the world, wherever there was a pulse, she would be. Tongue flickering in the darkness, seeking out new blood, new ways of using its energy. Her cloak, fuelled by the millions of warmblooded beings wrapped around her, maintaining her heat as her wings extended, readying her for flight, tonight she would meet more of the cold machines who ran on her essence.

Fantasy Faire 2013 - Prickly Rose

She was given the name "Rosalee" and it determined her destiny from immediately after she'd been born. Can someone practice any other profession than a rose fairy's, with that name? Of course not. Her loving mother pampered little Rosalee, taught her grace and manners... better to say, she tried to do so, she made every effort possible, she insisted, begged and threatened, to no avail. Little Rosalee was a tomboy. A tomfairy. A reckless and stubborn thing.

"What shall we do with Rosalee?" - the almost rhetorical question hovered over the deeply worried fairy community like a black cloud with a promise of thunderstorm. One of their own, proven so inadequate for the task! "Imagine Rosalee pollinating a rose! Ha! Stomping over it, more like!" - grumbled the elders, until...

... until, at one of the weekly assemblies, the oldest fairy granny asked out loud something that first caused a deep silence, then some astonished murmuring, then the happiest and loudest cheers the fairy community had ever heard. What the oldest fairy granny asked was rather simple, "Do dog roses have a custodian? If not, who would be more able to handle their prickly thorns than our beloved Rosalee?"

When I opened the blogger package I got from Jackal Ennui, my first thought was, "Please, someone make a dress and a pair of boots like these IRL, and very very soon!" I particularly love the tendril-like pattern on the gothic doll corset set and the matching bolero, and the delicate embroidery on the boots tells us that the patient creator spent many, many hours working on it.

Then, when I opened another box that De La Soul Charlie dropped on me with love and compliments, I immediately knew I had to combine the sophisticated elven dress and the slightly macabre Kno'hr horns. I'm not sure I'd like to wear them, too, IRL... but in the fantasy world delicate and spooky match quite well.

Dragons dance at the Fantasy Faire

Nagendra danced in the darkness...

Deep down under the snowcapped peak of the mountain was her home. The doorway, the only way into her realm, was hidden away behind broken pines and shattered rock; a most unassuming, and forgettable cave.

Few found it, those that did were unlikely to return to their own worlds to share a tale of what they discovered. She would steal out in the darkness to seek what she desired. Gold and jewels were rarities these days, even in the high wilderness, much that had been plundered from the earth now lay locked up tight in iron chests. Prizing the beauty of gems and metals, such actions seemed a crime, and while crimes in general were none of her concern, Nagendra certainly enjoyed righting that particular wrong.

Here, deep under the mountain, she kept her own trove safe... out of the sight of others of course, but always on display for her. The movement of the earth, soft scratchings of rats and deep muffled booms of drums in distant dwarvish caves would occasionally send a pile of coins toppling over. Minute changes in the delicate balance started a soft note ringing in the hollow crystals she wore at her ears and neck. Gold slithered over pearls and jewels as riches beyond measure settled into new resting places. This gentle sound sent a shiver through her, tail flexing as plumes of flame licked her fingers. Raising her hand, eyes that rarely needed light to see would survey each alteration, each movement. This fire was hers, this treasure, hers also.

Life in Atlantis - Part 2

As Jaimie tended the gardens, and maintained the kelp forests that obscured Atlantis from many a prying eye, Isabelle had her own areas of expertise. From the surface, she would barely be seen; her colouring, all those tones of teal, turquoise and blue in her fins helped her blend seamlessly into the waves. Up at the surface, near the border with the world of air above, she was the eyes of her people, capable of sounding the alarm while any approaching ship was still safely out of sonar range

As night fell, and others took over the watch, she would sink back down to the ruins of the old city, still the heart of Atlantis. Just as they had when the city had been in the air, fathoms above where it now lay, moonbeams still focused on the town square. Their light dissipated through the depths, but Isabelle still shone. Phosphorescence, energised by her time in the sunlight near the surface, brought new light to the deep.

Danielle, just like her sisters, spent time at the ruins when she could. It was important to their survival to have food, and to not be found and treated as curiosities of course; but without their history, none of that would matter much. This was where she excelled. The ways her people had swum flowed in her veins. She studied their ancient texts, long since transcribed onto stone tablets capable of enduring under the water where ink would not. These she would care for, replacing or recarving when salt and tides blurred the edges of their words. Of course, much of their history was passed from Mer to Mer, their stories and songs pieced together threads of fact and myth, weaving the fabric of their people, and all those they met. All histories can be shared, and Danielle could spend whole tides conversing with the whales or the starfish. All these lives came together in the heart of the city, forever remembering their pasts, and looking to their futures.

Fantasy Faire 2013 - One Wee Goat

Marjoriana considered herself a smart, no-nonsense girl. In summer, when the whole village worked in the fields and the old women entertained the kids with spooky stories about the creatures that lived in the woods, Marjoriana giggled, wrinkled her nose and tried to look superior. Nobody would feed her that, for sure. Dancing lights that sing a lullaby so you fall asleep for a century? Sweetly smelling mushrooms that taste like strawberries, but after you eat one your skin turns scaly like a snake's? Bah, and bah again, Marjoriana thought.

One very hot summer afternoon Marjoriana became so thirsty that, instead of going back to the village well, she decided she would look for some water in the woods. The "enchanted" forest looked peaceful and the girl soon found a pretty spring, the water was sweet and Marjoriana was quickly sated. "Well, y'know-all aunties, what do you say now?" - she giggled, stood up, and started walking back, towards the village... but she stopped immediately as she didn't know where those cloppity-clopping noises came from. Then she looked down her feet and started screaming like a banshee.

I don't really believe in "destiny" but I admit I was quite amazed when I first read the list of the designers whose work I was to show you during the Faire, and I found the names of Baldur Darkwatch and Vital Tigerpaw, the owners of "!Completely oBVious!", on it. It was an act of divine justice, more like... because I still have a bad conscience about a gift I didn't blog during the last Medieval Fantasy Hunt. It was a splendid Elven warrior lady outfit, created by Vital; what left a deep impression in me was not only the outstanding quality of her work but also the accompanying notecard, in which Baldur and Vital politely apologised for the imperfections and promised to do better next time. Then my RL became busy, the hunt ended, and I've had a remorse ever since... until now. Smoke and Flame at the Fantasy Faire

Burn baby burn... It was no disco inferno  sweeping through the forests that evening. Music curling with the smoke around tree trunks as they blackened, then began  to glow, was the hot rush of air, carrying with it the screams of those creatures and plants not quick enough, or just unable to evade the flames.

Each step she took, the earth would bake, rocks and stones melted into magma at her touch. Anything her long tail brushed against turned to smoke. Spreading her wings, she seemed every inch the destroyer of worlds. These misunderstandings made her chuckle. People weren't so wrong... just a little shortsighted. Sometimes life needed a little trauma, a little danger, a little damage to be able to bloom to its most beautiful. Her fires brought forth new growth, cleared away all that was damaged, lighting up the night with the inferno. At the dawn, new shoots would break through the scorched earth, and life would begin again.

Darkness strolls through the Fantasy Faire

Out in the darkness she strolled through the mists, Ghaun'dril was light of foot, though her heart was heavy obsidian. Moonlight filtered through the high canopy of trees, gilding with silver the bats taking flight to feast on insects in the night. Dark creatures moved in the dense undergrowth and she was one of them. Pale spiders streamed from camouflaged positions in the tresses of her hair to scatter before her.
These, her many legged minions out to collect what they could to add to her cache, myriad eyes searching for stones glinting in the shadows, the telltale glow of riches within.

Avarice was no sin to them, they did only as they were instructed, her every whim catered for with minimal fuss. Ghaun'dril had few whims really, the burning desire in her dark heart was to furnish her lair with as many crystals as could be found, this passion overrode all else. For the spiderfolk, there was safety under her care, her hunger for these gems could not always be sated peacefully, and her shadowy ministrations let many of their kin grow beyond nightmares. They served as guards as well as treasure hunters, and each dawn, as they returned to the depths of the lair, she would sit in her throne, and weave with them the stories of the night.

Fantasy Faire 2013 - Dragons Never Give Up!

The attack came so quickly that Dracoylea and her people didn’t notice the invaders until it was too late. The humano-dracoids were peaceful beings who lived in harmony with Nature and one another. There were some brawls in Spring, when certain young males were way too eager to mate, and it was dangerous to approach a dedicated mother during the hatching season… but, apart from that, Dracoylea and her fellow villagers enjoyed a happy life.

The attackers came from outer space. Their spaceships were huge metal creations, they stank of overheated engine oil, their voices creaked like a sword on a grindstone... and they wore armours of heavy, battered metal. Dracoylea and her people were frightened, but the terror lasted for a few minutes only. The mothers promptly herded together the hatchlings and they run into the woods. The men and the unmarried women picked up their swords, maces and lancets. They were to defend their home. Dragons never give up, after all.

The 2013 Fantasy Faire is up and running on eight breathtaking sims! Just that you get an impression of what it is like, I’m showing you a few splendid items that you can purchase there… and when you buy a FF donation item from any of the special vendors it also means that the sum you pay will finance cancer research IRL. Do you need more prodding, folks…?

When I received the blogger package from Kouse Singh I just stood there with my mouth open and I immediately knew I had to do justice to the splendid ethereal gowns so characteristic of Kouse’s Sanctum. I needed a unique skin for these lovelies, and when I started nagging Charlie Destiny, the owner of De La Soul, that he should give me something worthy, he not only listened to my pleas but promptly dumped a big box on me (ouch, my head still hurts…). :) Together with the marvellous Ceredil Candace skin I was also given a pair of pointy ears that I adore maybe even more that the skin itself. The eyes are from another generous and fantastic creator, Silverr Andel, Lord of the Thousand Peepers; I’ve been wearing his feline and dragon eyes in SL for ages and now I almost feel naked without them. The elaborate staff comes from a Magician’s secret shop… Talevin Whelan looks like an adult Harry Potter and indeed, his staves, wands and portals aren’t less magical than any Hogwarts stuff. Fantasy Faire 2013 Is Around The Corner!

... just reminding you, good people, whether you be imaginable or unimaginable critters, fluttering, swimming, walking or galloping in whichever life, First, Second or Umpteenth... the Faire is coming!

... actually, it's just around the corner. Be ready, miracles can happen, you only need a wee pinch of pure faith. You have that somewhere in a half-forgotten drawer, in an old chocolate box, or in your hearts, don't you...? Just look for it and you'll find it, I'm sure.

... Oh my, now let me don my butterfly wings, dragon eyes and magic wand as I've just been summoned to Fantasy Land, and promptly. Meet you there, all of you! Just do as I do, close your eyes, and... see?

Fantasy Faire 2012 – A Splinter Of Amethyst

„Ugh!” – Splinter felt disgusted and itchy at the same time. A dress to wear… with wings! What an annoying situation! She was a Blue Steel Spook, after all. The traditional job of her kind was to stalk around in the pits and scare the hell out of those fools who wanted to find something valuable in the ancient mines. Those silly Gemstone Ghosts, on the other hand... Bleah, what a gang of softies! They flap around and whisper instructions to the scroungers, so they can find a rough diamond as big as a pigeon’s egg. A bunch of namby-pambies... who have captured her and forced her into becoming an Amethyst Ghost in order to redeem herself.

Someone knocked on the door of her cell and she heard a chirpy voice. “Hurry up, please! An adventurer has just arrived, he is dreaming of a really big piece of amethyst, so it’s your turn to guide him! No kicking and no pushing, and you’re not allowed to call him a ‘blind idiot’, either! Whispers and fluttering wings only, you hear me?” Splinter didn’t even deign her of an answer. “No kicking, huh?” – she thought. “Then just watch him fall over his own leg... on a huge piece of amethyst, all right, but he will crash and ouch. Big time ouch.” Splinter left to perform her duty, with fluttering wings... and a broad wicked grin on her blue steel lips.

Spyralle products by Kerryth Tarantal are based on a simple yet truly brilliant idea, one of those that make you smack your forehead and shout, “Why haven’t I ever thought of that?” Kerryth has imported fractals in SL, and she’s made a great job of it. It’s a pity Benoit Mandelbrot, the father of fractal geometry, has passed away in 2010... I’m quite certain he would have enjoyed these Spyralle creations quite much.

The fabulous “Rhapsody” gown is a RFL donation item at the Fantasy Faire that comes with a pair of small matching wings, yet I’ve decided to pair it with another donation item, the amazing “Rhapsody” fractal flappies... and if you really want to move in for the kill, wear the matching “Rhapsody” mask as well :).

I’ve shown you the “Beatrice” skin in soft pale Gold by De La Soul here, now it’s time for another tone, the greyish-blue Chrys. The tattoo pattern around the eyes is the same, yet the steely hue gives the skin a very different aura... brrrr, you feel a bit cold when you look at it.

Fantasy Faire 2012 Preview - Ullabellatrix

The memory of her nanny always made her smile. “You must be very careful, my sweet little Ulla!” – she used to say, with a grave expression on her wrinkled face. “After sunset, the woods swarm with the most dangerous creatures, people say... those lucky who have lived to tell the tale, that is. They speak of six-legged polecats that spit fire, birds with poisonous feathers, and...” – Nanny’s voice was usually reduced to a hoarse whisper by now – “... there are ruthless, walking golden statues, too, who will kill you in an eyeblink! Promise me you will never walk in the woods after dark, my sweet child!” And little Ullabellatrix promised.

Oh, poor Nanny... she was a foreigner who never truly learned to know and love her chosen homeland. Why didn’t she notice, then, that her ward’s skin was slowly turning into a pale gold, as it customarily happened to the princesses of her House when they approached womanhood? “... and I bet she never counted Fuzzball’s legs, either...” – Ullabellatrix chuckled, then she whistled to her faithful polecat, she patted the deadly feathers of the bird perched on her shoulder, and began her night patrol in the wilderness.

The 2012 edition of Fantasy Faire is around the corner, and look at these beauties that will hit the shelves in a few hours!

Elvenbreath by Selina Forder was among the very first fantasy shops I stumbled into in SL as a noob, and now I have the pleasure to show you one of her exclusive FF items, “Ulabeth”. It is a beautiful ranger/hunter outfit in soft fawns and orangey golds, rich in elaborate details such as the medaillons on the shoulder strap and the belt. The strap, the skirt and the boots come with a resize script, so be you tiny or tall, you’ll be able to wear “Ulabeth” as if it were your second skin.

Talking of skins, “Beatrice” in Gold by Lerochelle Destiny of De La Soul stunningly complements Selina’s outfit. I love the delicate tattoo pattern around the eyes, and I only added a lip tattoo layer of my own because I’m too much of a perfectionist, and not because De La Soul products need any correction. :) “Beatrice” will be available in other fantastic gemstone colours, too, of which I’m going to show you some more very soon.

The waiting deep ones

Pym was waiting. When the sun would have gone done they would attack. So from time to time he swam up from the ground of the ocean, where they waited, and looked to the horizon.

In a corner his mate Illyra was waiting. Her fish was of course with her. They were both ready and waiting. Pym knew that Illyra had sharpened her weapon for hours. She even sharpened the horn of her helmet. Pym had done the same.

They were four on this mission as on all missions, two couples. Pym did not know the other couple well but he hoped that they would be good fighters. They looked like that at least. Their fish were aqua Kois and of course they looked very much like their fish.

Pym had admired their jewlery but of course their weapons were much more intresting for him. Theirs seemed to be made of many layers of steal. The koi-merrows normaly served an other god.

But Hotaka and Hotara had been corrupted when they found an ancient statue in a deepth. Pym knew said statue. He had placed it some centuries ago, not long after the time before he got transformed into a sailfish merrow.

Most koi-merrows had black red and white scales. Hotaka and Hotara also had those colours when they hatched and they always had been merrows different than Pym and Illyra who were born. Getting in contact with the statue of the god the two sailfish merrows served changed the kois.

Now that the statue had been stolen Dagon their god and master was in rage. Normaly the god would have been pleased because more people might get in contact with the statue, but the thiefs knew what they had found and even worse they were able to protect themself from its powers, which had been woven with words into it a human would not be able to imagine. So they were sent to get the magical artefact back. With a energetic move of his tail fin Pym swam down when the sun disappeared behind the horizon. It was time to hunt and to kill. Nobody should think it would be possible to anger Dagon without having to pay for that.

Today is the last day of the fantasy faire which is a pity but there is still the chance to see the wonderful builds and to get some of the awesome donation items. For example these avatars from Tekeli-li. When hearing the name of this store the first time I had to shiver. Tekeli-li reminded me on the mountains of madness, a book written by Lovecraft I should not have read. Tekeli-li is a great store for items which are fantastic, well made and absolutly different from the average second life fashion. The merfolk avatars are available in a male and a female versions and look very much like the fish they are based on. The aqua ones are based on koi and the purple ones on sailfish. They come with an ao, different to mermaid avatars those avatars swim like a shark swims and not like a dolphin. The sets include a shape, the skin, and all the prim and system layer parts. It is possible to use an other shape as all the primparts but the fish pet are mod. The sailfish avatars come with prim parts which look like an armour. The koi ones come with great jewlery and as the sailfish the set it includes a weapon which is called Naginata, the sailfish have a harpoon. All sets include a wearable petfish which is animated.

Strawberries with Ice

Ines was an ice fairy. She only knew snow and ice. Her wings were made for the cold climate. Normal wings would break if they would be covered with ice. Ine's wings were more flexible. Ice fairies were also a bit rougher than other fairies. Ines family were hunter. They hunted big moths which lived in icecaves in the mountains. Those moths had amazing wing which were like leather. The icefairies used them to create stunning dresses with them. The parts they did not need, for example the legs, they exchanged for cloth. It was a calm life and Ines liked it.

But one day she found a iced strawberry at the shore. She had never seen such a fruit before and was very irritated by it. Ines poked the strawberry with her finger and pulled it back quickly. By mistake she licked over her finger and was stunned. The glimps of sweetness was nearly too much for her. The icefairy used a knive to cut a little piece out of the strawberry and ate it. It was intense but also seemed like it would be even more intense if it would not be frozen.

It was a tough desicion but at the end Ines decided to search for the source of the strawberries. She also supposed that they were a good item to trade although she did not really know what would be worth to be traded against a strawberry. She flew for a long time until she reached the summerlands. It was very warm in her opinion so she took off her dress. And then she found fresh strawberries. Ines slowly picked one of the red fruits and put it in her mouth. The taste was amazing she had supposed that they would taste better when they would be fresh but she had not been prepared on this taste. It was so tasty and exciting that even her wings started to glow in shades of red and pink. Ines never went pack to her cold homelands instead she stayed in the summerlands and became the most famous strawberry grower which ever existed. If a strawberry is very tasty its most likely one of Ines strawberries.

The blue gown, which looks like being made for elves, is one of the donationitems from Demons and Angel's.It is very well textured and has an intresting cut. The belt has a shield on the front side which has the colours of the corset. It looks like the skirt and the sleeves are made of heavy cloth. So its a good elegant gown which could be worn in winter or colder areas. The set even includes boots.
Demons and Angel's has also a great outfit for men in the silent auction which will end at saturday.
Material Squirrel created those wonderful wings as donation item for the faire. They are available in many colours and four designs. The wings come in packs which contain ten different colours. They all come of course with the Material Squirrel wing hud and the possibility to touch them. The ones on the upper pictures are a bit darker in the colours and might fit well to a fairy which is not as jolly as a fairy with colourful wings.
The skin is the azure version of the Crystal Fae wings from Fallen Gods Inc.. I love the colour and the elegance of the skin. They are only sold at the fantasy faire yet. The modesty cover made of wings is a gift on the faire from Fallen Gods Inc. too. For this post I used one of the Fae versions of the skin. Those have wing textures in the face and on the body.
This version of the hair from Wasabi Pills is a donation item one. It has been made to fit the crystal skins perfectly.
Even the butterfly on the third picture is a donation item. It flys around the avatar and comes from Angelwing.
The big strawberry comes from Rebel Xtravaganza. Its made to sit on it.

Teal gift

Standing at home and thinking about cookies. Its a good time to get cookies. The fantasy faire is still going on and people there are always willing to give a dragon some cookies. For those who are not into cookies and like dresses better this dress from Blue Blood is great. Its a dollarbie on the fantasy faire and comes in a great green. The top has ruffles and so do the sleeves. It is possible to mod all prim parts so that they fit well. The socks with the heart pattern are just cute. The pink face tattoo is one of the gifts to the crowning of the princess at the enchanted mysts sim. Its an unisex tattoo in purple the colour of relay for life.

Insilico and Crystals

When Etain wandered over the water like he used to do it nearly every day he had no clue about what was going to happen on his small planet. He was just walking around playing with the water which seemed to react like a living creature on him. Etain was a crystal fae and the rocks around him were his creations.

EX-121 had no idea that being like Etain might exist. She was to busy with herself to think about faes at all. Since the emotional revolution EX11-03 had caused the life of EX-121 was not like she wanted it to be. EX-121 was an android as EX11-03 but she had the task to work in a bar. The barbot filled the glasses with the drinks the humans ordered and EX-121 brought those drinks and some snacks to the tables. It was not intresting but she did not mind that as long as she just was a robot and not infected with emotions.

EX-121 was not very glad about having emotions but it seemed as there was no way to get rid of them. Her work started to bore her and it became even worse as the barbot started to develop a strange behaviour. He had been programmed to make some naughty comments to entertain the mainly male guests. But now with emotions and the resulting free will he seemed to enjoy those comments. He made jokes about the look of EX-121 and even asked her to show him her circuit boards. When he started to tell her every day that a S would be missing in her name she had enough and decided to leave the town, the country and the planet.

EX-121 managed to convince a small spaceship to bring her to an empty planet and to pick her up after a year. They managed to find a nice planet on the starmaps. But during the flight EX-121 became suddenly very weak. She was running out of power and needed to charge her batteries. Being build to work on a surface she was not able to deal with the light in space. So they decided to stop at a small planet which seemed to be covered nearly completly with water.

The android sat down moving so that as much light as possible got in contact with her hair. The hair consisted only of solar cells. They were one of the most important inventions for the robot technologie. But they seemed to work only in an atmosphere which was similar to the one on good old gaia. To quicken the charging process EX-121 switch-off some programms if she would have been human she would have been asleep. That was how Etain found her.

He had never seen such a being like her before and she had also never met a crystal fae. Both very surprised. EX-121 gasped "hello" and touched the leg of the fae by mistake. That touch suprised both. Etain realized that the android was made mainly of silicium a material he liked very much. And EX-121 recognized that her circuitry somehow reacted on a strange way onto the fae.

He picked her up and hugged her tight. And the android was surprised but she liked it. Then he showed her the rock part of his planet. The robot was not sure if she would survive getting in contact with so much water. But without both of them recognized it EX-121 started to change. Crystals in her platines moved and her even her skin started to change.

The latex which covered most of her body disappeared and similar crystals as on Etain's skin appeared on hers. Even her eyes stopped looking like being created by humans and when the spaceship which had brought her onto the planet tried to contact her EX-121 was not able to recognize it. She had lost most of her artificial components while her mind stayed like it had been.

EX-121 was amazed when her boots disappeared. Now she had feet and was even able to feel the ground under her with them. Etain and she talked and talked. At the end they fell in love for each other.

When walking over the water in the mornings EX-121 sometimes thought about changing her name. But although the crystal fae had not been happy in her past as android, she kept her name as it was the only thing which was left from that time.

Fallen Gods Inc. sponsor the Enchanted Mysts sim of the fantasy faire and created also new skins for the faire. They are called crystal fae and available in three colours for both genders. Of course there are many versions of them in the colours itself. The female ones come in cleavage versions and "normal" versions. I love the wings the fae versions have on the legs and the body. The opal versions come with a glow which looks like some crystals shimmer and the opalfae skins mix both. Of course there is also a pure version of the skins available which comes without the wings the shimmer.
As seeable in the story the skins work for much more than only fae roleplay. They are currently sold at the Fallen Gods Inc. Store at the fantasy faire. I had the chance and honor to interview Alia Baroque the owner of Fallen Gods Inc. for the website of the Fantasy Faire.
The purple latex outfit is the donation item from Ezura at the fantasy faire. It is the purple version of the digi outfit I blogged some time ago. It comes with three different skirts and on all layers as the other versions. For those pictures I coloured the glow of the boots first took them off and coloured then the glow of the rest of the outfit. So I was able to have two kinds of glow.
Wasabi Pills is the creator of that wonderful long ponytail hair. It comes with a resize script and fits also smaller avatars. The hair is available in many colours. There is also a version with twigs in the hair available which I blogged yesterday.
For this post I used poses from the posefaire and the one with the close-up of the faces is from Studio Sidhe from the fantasy faire. The pose on the 5th picture is called "Don't Leave Me" and comes from PNP the one on the 6th picture is called "Catch Me" and comes from the same store. The pose on the 9th picture comes from gi poses and is called Hold Me.
