Fantasy Faire 2017 - DragonFish

Dragons live in the sky. Mermaids live in the water. Everybody knew that in the Land of Infinite Magic... except for Chilrideoss The Brave, a majestic green dragon, and Muirgheal, a dreamy mermaid with the loveliest purple scales ever seen in the deep quiet waters of the Land of Infinite Magic.

One day Chilrideoss The Brave felt very thirsty (spitting fire for an entire day easily dries the throat of even the most heroic dragon, you know...) and he descended from the skies to the seashore. Dragons can drink saltwater; actually it is their preferred thirst quencher, as salt makes their skin thicker and shinier. Muirgheal was playing in the shallow water exactly at the time Chilrideoss arrived.

The rest is history in the Land of Infinite Magic. Love at first sight between two very different creatures with lovely scales, a secret wedding, and the birth of a little girl, majestically green and silkily purple, the proof that sometimes love indeed conquers all.

Hair: “Petula” by Analog Dog. All right, I’m cheating a bit with this hairdo, as it was last year’s FF item... but the “Merida” tresses offered by Queue at this year’s Faire are equally beautiful - 375 L$. Visit Queue at The Hill!

Skin: “Opal” Black Brows by 7 Deadly S(K)ins – 299 L$. “Opal” is a beautiful pearly white skin; you can choose from four packages with different eyebrow tones in the shop of Izara Zuta at San Mora, and they are also a RFL donation item, so again... your money is spent really well!

Fantasy Faire 2017 Sneak Peek - Faerie Queene

She couldn’t understand how she ended up in the chilly winter forest. How could her own people ban her...? Or was it Chancellor Thornheart who plotted against her and some spineless courtiers just followed his lead? Queen Flutterwillow shivered. Whoever cursed her picked the harshest and cruellest one for a delicate Flower Fae... the dreaded “Expeliatis” that ejected her from her kingdom and transported her to this wilderness of ice and snow. Yet, after a second or two, Queen Flutterwillow stood up, grabbed her magic wand, and conjured a swarm of colourful butterflies from thin air. “They will keep me warm until I arrive...” – she thought, lifted the hem of her gossamer gown, and started marching along the forest path covered in snow, towards home.

“Sparkly Wand of Butterflies” by Talevin’s Designs. This apparently innocent and delicate wand can cast a spray of magic dust, also send your target several meters into the air, and even summon a jar full of butterflies that will trap your target! Talevin’s s shop is located in The Hill sim, go pay him a visit, it’s worth the walk!

Fantasy Faire 2017 Sneak Peek - The Priestess

The priestess Ashera Sylstina was ready for the evening ritual. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and gently bowed towards the setting Sun first, then towards the slowly raising Moon. She was truly grateful for the day that was ending… the Mermaids were happy and content in their deep cove beneath the Temple, the Crystal Fountain was quietly trickling, the Dragons of the Iron Mountains were happily chasing sheep in a faraway realm… Life was good. The priestess Ashera Sylstina touched her High Crown, and a pleasantly warm feeling rushed through her body. The Goddess, who once gifted the first Priestess with the artifact, was content, too. „All is well…” – she whispered, and slowly walked back to the Temple across the Crystal Bridge.

Valkyrie - Ember's Cauldron Shopping Event

“Hlanhildur, Daughter of the Gods”. A warrior maiden, a divine being, whose noble duty is to select and bring her chosen heroes, killed in battle, to Valhalla. Yet, when she joined the group of Valkyrie apprentices, nobody told her openly about the race of the heroes she would accompany to the table of Odin. She just presumed they would be human. When Hlanhildur finished her Valkyrie training her first mission was to fly to a battlefield in darkest Dwarfheim, and bring back the soul of the bravest... bear, that fell while defending his homeland from the invading dwarves. Hlanhildur sighed. Today was the day of the great battle between the High Elves and Dragons... and she was not ordered to choose the soul of an Elven warrior.

The fantastic „Filling The Cauldron” fundraising event for Elicio Ember might be over, but please don’t forget that many creators still participate in the „Ember’s Cauldron” shopping event until 16^th April, and they still offer beautiful donation items created in support of Elicio!

The Forest Guardian

Laerornel Treesong eyed the suspicious bump protruding from the smooth and even forest floor. „Oh, those pesky moles!” – she thought - „They are up to no good again…” As Forest Guardian, she was supposed to keep the little parcel of ground in pretty neat order… no disorderly vines spreading their sneaky tendrils wherever they wanted to, no red poppies in the ocean of white flowers. The bump moved again, almost invisibly, yet it moved. Something green appeared among the soft clods of deep brown earth. It was not a mole. It was... a plant. It had something colourful, like a bud, on the stem that drilled through the earth with determination. “I should uproot this rebel!” – Laerornel Treesong murmured to herself; then she stood still for a while. “Maybe I’ll do it tomorrow. Maybe it is an unauthorised plant... but it might also happen that it’s utterly beautiful”. She tiptoed away from the newcomer in the forest, already looking forward to next day’s visit at the silent and peaceful patch among the trees.

Spring is indeed around the corner IRL, too… so why not to wear something fresh and green, with flowers and tree leaves?

In the Golden Delta - Fantasy Faire 2016

Anput's role had never been an easy one. Though, of course, if you ever did meet a god whose role was, she would advise you to lift the curtain, as likely behind it there would be a charlatan pulling on strings, and releasing coloured smoke to dazzle any susceptible audience.

She waited, the tap tap of her foot against sun warmed stone was never in impatience. She would wait forever, knowing that for many, her waiting would be far too short in duration. The soft beat of toe and heel resonated like a heartbeat, one which would continue throughout eternity; from the first vagueries which had brought her into being, long past the last breath of any who believed, and worshiped in what were now the old ways. Once gods were created, they endured; continuing in the tasks assigned to them.

Anput attended each who came to her. There could be a thousand a day, an hour, a minute. Each captured her full attention and care. The single self a mirage, able to gently hold each hand, guide each soul. She could shine in the darkness, be the focal point of a shadow in the midst of blinding light. She alone knew the weight of the feather against which each heart would be judged.

Relay the news...

Relay and Fashion for Life in 2013 is a massive event, with some of SL's best designers putting what are often exclusive objects, items and outfits up for sale to raise money for the American Cancer Society. You can find the  Fashion for life SIM here.

I do have to say that I'm concerned that the organisers may not be making the most of the event. Following the link on the SL login screen, or by searching for the event, you get to the SIM above (often under the floor). Here, you can find the gatchas - where you randomly get one of several different versions of an item by paying a low low price. This is of course, great - but this is all that many visiting the event seem to find.

I was walking around for ages, buying from the gatchas, and searching for the stores. Many MANY others (so it wasn't just me not knowing where to go) were doing the same, confusion about the lack of stores was leading to annoyance.

To make things clear - the seven SIMS around the main Fashion for Life SIM, named and styled after the seven wonders of the ancient world are where you find the stores. I tp'd to one as a last gasp hope before giving up and leaving.

THERE THE STORES WERE! I started imming those who had been similarly frustrated in the main SIM - and sadly many were too annoyed at the time they had spent there already to want to go shopping. This is potentially a massive loss of revenue, so if you go, PLEASE let those around you know!

I've not even made it to all of the SIMs yet - I will be back, most likely with enough new stuff for another post.

Relay for Life 2013 is on now!  Here in RL, Cancer Research UK has just begun a new style of ad campaign to raise money for the cause. Very different to earlier campaigns, focusing on the sadness, and hope that go hand in hand with a cancer diagnosis, this is all about fighting back. It's positive, it's inspiring, it's time. Go shopping, spend all you can, get fantastic stuff while donating to the most worthwhile cause of all. Life.

Hi Folks! My name is Zorah and I'm new to writing on a blog. Another one of my favorite stores has this lovely gem FREE! It comes with the dress in Jacket/Shirt/Undershirt layers, and the bottom in pants and underpants! And the skirt isn't one of those little prims stuck between your legs, its an actual sculpted skirt which looks rather nice! And to complete the look is my Baxies, which are one of my favorite accessories!
