Relay and Fashion for Life in 2013 is a massive event, with some of SL's best designers putting what are often exclusive objects, items and outfits up for sale to raise money for the American Cancer Society. You can find the Fashion for life SIM here.
I do have to say that I'm concerned that the organisers may not be making the most of the event. Following the link on the SL login screen, or by searching for the event, you get to the SIM above (often under the floor). Here, you can find the gatchas - where you randomly get one of several different versions of an item by paying a low low price. This is of course, great - but this is all that many visiting the event seem to find.
I was walking around for ages, buying from the gatchas, and searching for the stores. Many MANY others (so it wasn't just me not knowing where to go) were doing the same, confusion about the lack of stores was leading to annoyance.
To make things clear - the seven SIMS around the main Fashion for Life SIM, named and styled after the seven wonders of the ancient world are where you find the stores. I tp'd to one as a last gasp hope before giving up and leaving.
THERE THE STORES WERE! I started imming those who had been similarly frustrated in the main SIM - and sadly many were too annoyed at the time they had spent there already to want to go shopping. This is potentially a massive loss of revenue, so if you go, PLEASE let those around you know!
I've not even made it to all of the SIMs yet - I will be back, most likely with enough new stuff for another post.
Relay for Life 2013 is on now! Here in RL, Cancer Research UK has just begun a new style of ad campaign to raise money for the cause. Very different to earlier campaigns, focusing on the sadness, and hope that go hand in hand with a cancer diagnosis, this is all about fighting back. It's positive, it's inspiring, it's time. Go shopping, spend all you can, get fantastic stuff while donating to the most worthwhile cause of all. Life.

The books did not like swearwords. It was something Eyleen should better have kept in mind. Now she had strange feeling that her skin was changing. She did not dare to stroke with her fingers over her cheek, else she would have felt the pulsating slimy material into which her skin was transforming. There were enough warnings about swearing around books. Swearwords were seldom used in books so books easily had the need to defend themself against the possibility that a swearword might get into them. Eyleen would need to apologize for having sweared maybe then the books would take back their spell so that her skin would be fine again. Likka House sent out a halloween groupgift. Its a top with fitting skirt in two versions. The primparts have a resizescript and the top with the flower should go well with jeans as well. ND/MD take part in the second haunted forest hunt. One part of their gift is a female skin with alienlike spots on it. Beside the skin the gift also contains a female shape and fitting eyes. The skins from ND/MD are all very well made so this hunt is a chance to get one of theirs for nearly no lindens - all huntitems of that hunt are 1L$. The hair is a groupgift from Dura.
So if you haven't checked out Likka yet, shame on you! You've got such great outfits just merely a hop skip and a jump away! With prices WORTH that jump! Its a rez day sale over there, and let me tell you, these outfits are hooooot! And quite snazzy too. I've taken the liberty to photo a few of the outfits awaiting you!
And here we have Dolothy, a nice little striped top with a long and very swishy skirt. Comes with a cute little choker and a broach to add that little dab of sophistication.
Ahh Blanca, who can't help but look innocent and pure as the driven snow in this frock. Its topped with bell sleeves and lace in all the right places! And topped with a pair of wings found in the same store!
Last but not least my favorite of the outfits I've shown. It might be the pink checkered top, or the adorable top hat, but this outfit has it all dark gothy feel with class.
I often use maid outfits in roleplay as my roleplay character helps in a store and thinks that she needs kind of an uniform for this (and because it makes me giggle). So i always like it a lot when finding a free maid dress somewhere. This one is a 2o minutes camping item from likka house. It comes with many prim parts which have a resize script. Under the skirt the avatar wear white long undies with prim legs. The dress is striped and the frills always look prefect.

This praise ferrets and beavers tops are from 22769. I like ferrets as well as beavers, although i secretly like ferrets a bit better so i thought those two free skirts would be a good reason to show off those shirts again. The long skirt will be on the pesca lucky board until tomorrow. The short one is the groupgift from couverture.

I d like to mention some free stuff i found in the last days or well some of it have been groupgifts so i could stay at home and nibble at my toes.

Jumping through the garden to train to catch a little nasty and fast dog at the roman sim. The Otukimi hunt started today on the Roman sim. You hunt for a little dog. The items are hidden on tricky places but its do able. Some great stores take part in the hunt. Like Tomoto, likka house, Lika Ruby or 129*129. The outfit on the first picture is the gift from honey kitty and named moon bunny. The hunt will end at the 26th September. The starting point is here. The gifts are hidden all over the sim. Most hunt items are not hidden in stores.

Likka house takes part in the twisted hunt. I was expecting a dollie dress but was surprised with a hot black lingerie like outfit. It comes with a vest and some bands for the legs. Sometimes when opening boxes strange things happen. For example i was all excited when i saw that likka house is taking part in the No Strings Attached hunt. So i quickly went there and grabbed the hunt item. A pink dress with cute bows at the arms and the calves (if you like to see all hunt items a friend blogged them). Later i won a great gothic outfit at one of the Aliza Karu lucky chairs. And when i tested it i only took off the skirt and the system parts of the Likka house dress and got a strange mix of black, white and pink i like. She stands in the garden and smirks. She just finished stealing all the black roses from the neighbour who is always grumpy and annoying. To prevent that he finds the roses on her land she sewed them all on her favourite black dress. Some days ago i told a friend, that i haven`t seen a dress which really impresses me for a long time. I was wrong. This dress from Likka House really impressed me. Its cute, elegant and playful at the same time. And i can`t imagine how much time the creator needed to put all the black roses at their places.
