Fantasy Faire 2017 - DragonFish

Dragons live in the sky. Mermaids live in the water. Everybody knew that in the Land of Infinite Magic... except for Chilrideoss The Brave, a majestic green dragon, and Muirgheal, a dreamy mermaid with the loveliest purple scales ever seen in the deep quiet waters of the Land of Infinite Magic.

One day Chilrideoss The Brave felt very thirsty (spitting fire for an entire day easily dries the throat of even the most heroic dragon, you know...) and he descended from the skies to the seashore. Dragons can drink saltwater; actually it is their preferred thirst quencher, as salt makes their skin thicker and shinier. Muirgheal was playing in the shallow water exactly at the time Chilrideoss arrived.

The rest is history in the Land of Infinite Magic. Love at first sight between two very different creatures with lovely scales, a secret wedding, and the birth of a little girl, majestically green and silkily purple, the proof that sometimes love indeed conquers all.

Hair: “Petula” by Analog Dog. All right, I’m cheating a bit with this hairdo, as it was last year’s FF item... but the “Merida” tresses offered by Queue at this year’s Faire are equally beautiful - 375 L$. Visit Queue at The Hill!

Fantasy Faire 2017 - The Well

The Well was always there. Its sweet cool water was the source of life, and no inhabitant in Faireville had ever questioned the fact... until Lothoellan Flowerfields arrived. Nobody knew where she came from: one day she just walked into the marketplace, greeted the shoppers and vendors with a smile, then moved into a dilapidated cottage at the end of the lane leading to the pastures.

“How deep is the Well, exactly?” – Lothoellan asked the bystanders one day, while she was weighing a juicy apple in her hand at a stall in the market. Nobody knew the answer. Nobody ever tried to measure how deep The Well was, or find out how the water from it tasted.

Lothoellan laughed when she found out how ignorant the inhabitants of Faireville were. She quickly walked to The Well, dropped a small bronze coin into it, and waited for the splashing sound that meant the coin reached the water... only that there was no “splash”, not after a minute, not after five minutes, not even after an hour.

For many years thereafter the inhabitants of Faireville took turns in bringing food to the ragged beggar woman who never left the brim of The Well and was standing there day and night, leaning towards the depth, listening and murmuring, “Now how deep is this well, exactly...?”.

The “Kira” set is a delicate masterpiece... but which jewellery set created by Plurabelle Laszlo is not like this? Dress: “Seasons Fae” Spring by Gypsy Wolf Creations – 275 L$. This pastel dress is so pretty that I would be quite happy to wear it in RL, too! In addition to being lovely it’s also a donation item, so visit Chaddul Ro quickly, and buy your own copy!

Wings: “Wings of Illusion” by Moondrops – 500 L$. This pair of softly fluttering jewel wings also has a HUD with several metal and wing colour options, a “must have” for the fashionable fae! You find Moondrops at Raven’s Perch, and you can be quite sure your money will be well spent because the wings are a RFL donation item.

Protecting the Fairelands : Fantasy Faire 2015

Travellers from other lands had always noted a change in the tides approaching the Fairelands. Waters were no calmer, but the waves had a new quality, a texture, as though the magic of the Fairelands themselves were dispersed below the surface. A strange tide; these visitors thought, even as their vessels were carried toward the docks and those tasked with defending their destination. Warm breezes from the Fairelands carried the scents of the different territories down to the shore. Standing on the docks in Vallacia, her eyes on the horizon, she was blessed with company on the breeze. Tiny butterflies alighted on her face, wings lightly brushing her lashes as delicate tongues dipped and lapped at the fine covering of salt on her skin. She kept up her watch, there were always those attempting to reach the Fairelands who had no business there. The arrows in her quivver would fly true. The arrow nocked to her bowstring was sharp to cut through air and water, though it would never wound a target. It carried a greater power than death, forged as it was from pure hope. It would prove an impenitrable barrier, protecting the Fairelands and all those within.  

The Fantasy Faire always goes by far far far to quickly. Today is the last day already!

The Green Mire II - A Journalist's Perspective

The word was that the two boys who had gone missing from the Green Mire swamplands all those years ago weren't dead... Not so urban legend whispered that they were alive somewhere, just perhaps not here. Some talked of alien abduction, others of kidnapping. The old drunken journalist down by the swamp certainly was of the latter opinion. Lately he's been talking of proof though, waving around a shabby letter, a promise of information and more for those two grieving families. I had to take the chance when he wanted help, if only I had known where it would lead me and what I would find...  

I still want to believe... The Green Mire II is the much anticipated conclusion to the interactive game playable at the beautiful new MadPeas SIM. The original storyline continues, taking you now on a grid-wide search down two alternative paths - the Journalist and the Believer. Each path costs L$100, for this you receive a HUD; a notebook / portfolio which page by page will guide you across the grid, offering a clue for each location. Each must be completed to move on to the next. Once you reach the end - all is revealed to cynics and believers alike along with all of the amazing prizes! (Not all of which are shown here by any means!)

Underground : Men Only Gacha 2

The underground was the crossroads of the modern world. Thousands upon thousands of people streamed through doors and turnstiles here each day, and each night. From train to train, small gaps, down here it was never silent, never fully still. Always the hum of the rails, the skittering of rodents and other animals... Winter or Summer, the only changes down here were the temperature, the posters on the walls and the graffiti which covered them. Tag over tag, spraypaint colours marked the seasons. Cold bit hard, heat sweltered; all those moving through the stations felt the effects. Wrapped up in layers just to peel them away. A person could bump into anyone down here, packed in tight, strangers as close as lovers. For most, uncomfortable in the dark, cooped up with so many others, the station was an extension of the subway train itself, merely a space to travel through, to get from A to B. A rare few paused, taking their time, unlike others with solely nefarious motives. Pickpockets aside, there were some who watched people, just as readily as those high above, seated in sidewalk cafes. Human nature on display. And always... always, the footsteps.

Flair For Events presents: Men Only Gacha 2 (MOG2).

Men Only Gacha (MOG) features over 50 designers of male items - many designers with multiple gachas at the show, which runs from Feb 1st to 15th 2014.

Good male items seem hard to find - and as I'm only ever really buying them as gifts, or for the boy blog alt, I tend to stick to the few stores I know who do what they do exceptionally well. A gacha event however, much like a hunt, gives easy access to a range of designers who's stores I would not otherwise have stumbled into. Gachas of course tend to offer items at a reasonable price, meaning even if what you get is not to your taste - no biggie. It does happen of course - that's the gamble of the gacha. Here, for example, I got a great shape / skin combo from Mr Bloch. I also gambled on another shape gacha, and received a shape that just isn't a style I would use. Being a gacha item, it's no mod - but also no problem - as I won't use it, it's still transferable, so can be given away to someone who might.
