The current round of "A Tattered Page" is dedicated to Ray Bradbury and his masterpiece collection of short stories, The Martian Chronicles. I was a teenager when I first borrowed the book from our local library... and I've been re-reading the melancholic and deep stories again and again, ever since that day... and rather often I am not at all proud that I belong to the barbaric human race.

The picture was taken at LEA10, where Whiskey Monday is currently building her ever-changing project, aptly called "Nothing Endures But Change". Very gently she also left a pose stand there, crammed with many gracious poses by Flowey; I took the occasion and picked "All I need" for my snapshot.

Crazy Hair Hunt 3

So many outfits, so many moods, so many roles to play. Each demands its own hair to complete a look, a victorian gent with a pink mohican may look cool, but not so authentic (having said this, it may be a look I work on in future).

This is why I love hair hunts. Doing so many hunts, often I find that there aren't that many hair stores included, which is disappointing given the number of great creators out there. When it comes to hair, I have my favourite creators, and one of them - RedMint - included the store list for this hunt in their group update notice.

  How does your garden grow? - by ZsaZsa - MESH

This mesh hair is exactly the kind of thing that makes me love SL hair, and hunts in particular. I would rarely - not never - but rarely have the inclination to go looking for hair like this, but having found it, I love it. The colours are so bright, cheerful, and most importantly, it actually works as hair, rather than something daft I've plonked on my head. It inspires the fun loving, wicked pixie, who sneaks about in the garden, moving the shears, protecting the wild flowers from the gardener's hands all before riding off into the sunset on the back of a white rabbit.

This Multihues pack is a limited edition release for CHH3, and contains five new combination colours, created especially for the hunt. Helpful NC is included, detailing possible modifications to colour of metals, gems, and gem's glow. Also some nice information about the inspiration behind the hairstyle. This hair makes me long for a flowing white toga, and some ruined temples to wander while I recite poetry beautiful enough to drive souls to distraction.

Becoming an Orb

She had spend the days with wandering around. And she had changed from day to day. She had been a fairy, a mermaid and she had been in her true dragon form. But now the time had come to become finally something different.

It was time to become an orb. And so she got finally transformed only floating pure esscence. Flying weightless and sparkling. She had lost all her boundries and was just light and contentedness.

Last night the story of Ilear and her crowning ended at the Enchanted Mysts sim of the fantasy faire. The gifts in this quest were great and they are still available. Many stores put items on the platform in the middle of the mysts sim. The white dress from Caverna Obscura is one of those items. They are sold in relay for life donation vendors and you could pay as much as you like to get them. They start with one linden but of course you can donate more to help to find a cure. Alia Baroque, the owner of Fallen Gods Inc. wrote a blogentry on the Fallen Gods Blog to the end of the story which is definitly worth reading. The fantasy faire will end at midnight so take care to visit if you have not done that yet.

The waiting deep ones

Pym was waiting. When the sun would have gone done they would attack. So from time to time he swam up from the ground of the ocean, where they waited, and looked to the horizon.

In a corner his mate Illyra was waiting. Her fish was of course with her. They were both ready and waiting. Pym knew that Illyra had sharpened her weapon for hours. She even sharpened the horn of her helmet. Pym had done the same.

They were four on this mission as on all missions, two couples. Pym did not know the other couple well but he hoped that they would be good fighters. They looked like that at least. Their fish were aqua Kois and of course they looked very much like their fish.

Pym had admired their jewlery but of course their weapons were much more intresting for him. Theirs seemed to be made of many layers of steal. The koi-merrows normaly served an other god.

But Hotaka and Hotara had been corrupted when they found an ancient statue in a deepth. Pym knew said statue. He had placed it some centuries ago, not long after the time before he got transformed into a sailfish merrow.

Most koi-merrows had black red and white scales. Hotaka and Hotara also had those colours when they hatched and they always had been merrows different than Pym and Illyra who were born. Getting in contact with the statue of the god the two sailfish merrows served changed the kois.

Now that the statue had been stolen Dagon their god and master was in rage. Normaly the god would have been pleased because more people might get in contact with the statue, but the thiefs knew what they had found and even worse they were able to protect themself from its powers, which had been woven with words into it a human would not be able to imagine. So they were sent to get the magical artefact back. With a energetic move of his tail fin Pym swam down when the sun disappeared behind the horizon. It was time to hunt and to kill. Nobody should think it would be possible to anger Dagon without having to pay for that.

Today is the last day of the fantasy faire which is a pity but there is still the chance to see the wonderful builds and to get some of the awesome donation items. For example these avatars from Tekeli-li. When hearing the name of this store the first time I had to shiver. Tekeli-li reminded me on the mountains of madness, a book written by Lovecraft I should not have read. Tekeli-li is a great store for items which are fantastic, well made and absolutly different from the average second life fashion. The merfolk avatars are available in a male and a female versions and look very much like the fish they are based on. The aqua ones are based on koi and the purple ones on sailfish. They come with an ao, different to mermaid avatars those avatars swim like a shark swims and not like a dolphin. The sets include a shape, the skin, and all the prim and system layer parts. It is possible to use an other shape as all the primparts but the fish pet are mod. The sailfish avatars come with prim parts which look like an armour. The koi ones come with great jewlery and as the sailfish the set it includes a weapon which is called Naginata, the sailfish have a harpoon. All sets include a wearable petfish which is animated.

Tekili-li has several stores. Their mainstore is at their own sim which is also called Tekili-li. They also got a store at Arkham, which is a Lovecraft themed sim and definitly worth a visit. Their meravatars are also sold at Tokebi.

I am a fan of all kind of tattoo-layers and collect them with an almost scary passion, so it was a 'must go' for me when I heard about Aitui's Halloween special: one of their hairbases with a shaved in spiderweb motive - for only 50 L$! You can find it in their hair department right next to the other hairbases, and the pack consists of 5 different versions, including one for the girls.


The unisex necklace I am wearing can be found on Tekeli-li's dollarbie wall and is part of a set that also includes earrings. It goes well with fantasy- and casual outfits and has been made out of a mixture of regular prims and sculpties. As usual with Tekeli-li jewels you can change gem-, metal- and leather-colours and switch glow on and off.
