In the Shadows...

Everyone knew what the warning signs were, yellow and black, taken from nature they spoke to the limbic system residing deep within the most evolved creature; Danger lies here. Signs could be misleading, even while they told the truth. The fences around the area carried a charge, enough to give a body a nasty jolt, but other shocks could be found here as well. Throughout history her kind had been depicted in the light, a situation in which she rarely found herself. Why would she be there? What would she do? There was nothing for her in the light, everything necessary was in darkness. Who was there to save in the light? Who could she hope to help? So here she would stay, walking the darkness, revelling in the shadows deepened by her light, showing others the difference.

Some called her wonder woman.
She was no Amazon, had no intention of being one.

So Peter Parker was her squeeze... it wasn't like she could fly her invisible plane everywhere!


Sad news my friends. One of my favourite designers Iokko Molko is closing down YumYums. I first stumbled into her world on the Zombie Popcorn hunt - years and years back. A fabulous hunt, and Sugar - the most exciting skin store I've had the good fortune to ever stumble into. The gift from Iokko at Sugar from that hunt remains my everyday skin - it suits Vyl so perfectly its hard to put on anything else. Sugar went, as did Iokko for a while, then back with a bang with YumYums, for years now I've been proud to blog for her and her store. Her skins are amazing, her clothes and accessories fun and innovative.  It will be a loss, but for you all, until the end of July, a steal - everything at the store has reduced prices - I urge you to grab a bit of this beauty for yourself while you have the chance.

Skin Fair 2015 - YumYums Hope Equinox

Down on the farm, everything was peaceful in the dusk at the end of a long day. The sun held warmth in its rays, for the first time since the winter. Grass bleached by months of cold crackled dryly under her feet, frost still clinging in tiny shards where shadows lingered. Steam rose in wisps from the crooked slats of the fence.

The old tyre swing moved in the gentle breeze like a metronome, marking time as the minutes passed. She had worked all day, there were endless jobs to be done while the earth slept, preparations to be made for the rebirth of spring. Spring, the hope promised to the world, a blessing fulfilled each year was marked with suitable festivity. As the season finally turned, and the equinox approached, the night of celebration and hope was at hand, it was time to get ready, it was time to dance!

The Skin Fair 2015 is presented by: Pale Girl Productions & Essences and runs from Friday 13th to Sunday, 29th March.

I have been bubbling over with excitement about this for about a week now. The event is as amazing as ever. TWO sims of stores, showcasing exclusive and outstanding designs from Second Life's best creators. You can expect a number of blog posts as I rave about the goodies on offer!

There is a script limit on the sims to ensure the shopping experience is as lag free as possible.

This skin is one of five tones available in this beautiful new skin from YumYums. You can try Cocoa, Creame, Honey, Latte and Porecelain. Each skin comes with an epic HUD for just about every applier you can shake a stick at, here I've just made use of the SLink Hands and Feet - the HUD also caters for Lola's, Phat/Cuteass, The Mesh Project, Maitreya, Loud Mouth, Nyam Nyam, PXL, Baby Bump and Soul Kissers.

Each skin comes with a fantastic array of options - with and without cleavage for black, blonde, brown, ginger and no brow.

There's an Alpha layer to remove system eyelashes, and a myriad tattoo layers for freckles, brows and blush.

Into the Forest : We Love RolePlay - March 2015

In the middle of the forest two hearts beat as one. This was their way, and the way it had always been.

Their way of life had come under threat before. Centuries earlier strangers had come, driving into their coastline, setting their trees screaming with axe and saw, churning and biting the land in an attempt to render it like the one they had left. The land rebelled, fought back with spiny plants, biting insects, poisonous frogs. The strangers were put off, the scars they left lasted decades.

They had come again, these strangers, this time from sea, land and sky. The people of the forest were few, but fierce. They would join their surroundings, sliding easily through shadow and dappled sunlight. The strangers would not see them coming, footsteps masked by soft calls of bird and beast. River and land working with them, their way of life would survive.

Creepy Kawaii - Last Day!

Jane, Jane, Impunity Jane, locked in the toybox, time and again. The nursey rhyme; formed from the book which had inspired her name; echoed around toybox, and the dusty attic in which it now rested. It had followed the box from room to room, child to child, a horror handed down through generations. In the story, Impunity Jane was saved from confinement by Gideon. There had been no such hero for this Jane. Over the years her strings had slackened, her reach extended, her anger deepened. All those in the box had learned a thing or two through the years. Each child, good, bad or careless affected the toys that they own, just as toys would shape them. Dexterity and logic, colour and form were all learned from blocks, bricks and tiny intricate clothing. Decades had passed since they had learned anything new, the lid had been closed and not reopened. They learned from each other, in the gloom, good and bad. Factions were formed and territories claimed in the wooden box that had become their world. Jane had grown, claws and all, in bloody battles of tangled strings and flying stuffing.

Now these scuffles were over, they were ready. Cute and dangerous, ready and waiting...

OMGacha!

Snow had fallen as one year ticked into the next, the hand on the clock and fireworks bursting amid clouds swollen with winter whiteness. Some had melted in the horizon skimming sunlight of the days that followed, but more fell, and more, and more. Now the sunlight shone on a world draped in a crystalline blanket, powder soft and clean, muffling the sound of her feet. No clipping or clopping accompanied her movement. As she drew closer to the bridge the soft sounds of Tchaikovsky wove through the air, with each step, a growing "C'thulhu fhtagn". Any strangers wandering in the woods during the beautiful dawn would likely be surprised, but all who dwelled in the neighbouring hamlets and villages wouldn't bat an eye. Soon enough she would bump into some of these friends, the sounds of her ride melding with whinnying, trumpeting and the curious noise of a giraffe greeting a dragon. Kicking off their shoes, they would walk, trot, and run in the wonderland of snow.

OMGacha is here again! The beautiful backdrop to these images is the SIM redecorated for the January round. A frozen fantasy filled with pretty gacha machines, each brimming with bargain goodies. There's a good amount of gachas for the bois in this round also. More may follow from this if I have the time! Meanwhile - check out these lovelies, and head on over!

Omgacha... omg the detail. Pretty inside and out (Don't tell me you've never rezzed your mesh shoes to see the work designers put into the insides!). These seem to be for MESH flat feet - I could be wrong - but I don't own these, so to look their best, here they are 'sans pieds'. Platform versions also in the gacha.

Hehehe MadPea do it again. This hobby 'horse' is one of ten versions, touch menu options to perfectly size your ride. Animations for walking and running. Sounds included - perhaps not "C'thulhu fhtagn" but will liven up your trotting all the same!

Tensions were rising at the candy store...

Summer was over, but Elise found it hard to let go. The blossoms in her world lingered, pink blooms still surrounded her side of the shop, the waning season's final stronghold. Customers loved the continuity of candyfloss from the flowers into the shop, where pink and white sugar mice lined up row on row on row.

Beta looked to the future, now October was here it was time to celebrate her favourite time of year. Black grasses curled around the pathways on her side of the store. Leaves has already fallen from the trees, piling up, pooling in blood red swirls. It was time to decorate for the approaching all hallows eve!

Of course, in the end, sweet harmony would reign. The seasons would progress, each would celebrate their holidays and seasons with a toast to each other, their business, and candy!
