Climbing the tower

Her heels rang against the ageing metal, the soft swish of her gown did little to break the silence of the Paris dawn, but the heels were another story, all three hundred and forty seven steps...

There was no argument that the premier étage was a remarkable location for an early morning fashion shoot; the light was beautiful, the crowds still fast asleep in their beds.

All she needed now was for the photographer to find the perfect angle, the right balance of light and shadow. Then she could kick off those heels and run back down the stairs, to find a café au lait and a croissant.

Amazing gown. We are all used to everything we see in SL being a 'texture', some of us may even have experimented with texturing our own builds or designs. This gown is one of the few items I've seen in SL which really gives a feeling of tactile texture. The design feels so 3D its hard to believe its just a picture, it feels like devoré.

Burn it down

The city burned around her as she stood on her usual perch, the column gatepost of the Bloodbank lot. So much had changed here in the years since the fall through the rift, buildings had come and go, only some had made it this far unscathed, or with any whiff of their original function, and even these were now cracking and crumbling in the heat of the flames. From here, she could see all roads leading to the bank. High enough up to feel more free, out of any crowds that may gather, but keeping these well within sarcasm range, and certainly able to reach most visitors with the flick of a well aimed peanut. The city had been through a lot lately, what with the giant psychotic squid, its squidlings and the flood that had ensued. Floods were nothing new, the city even smelled a little fresher for a while, and at least this time, flames had followed, burning away sludgy residue. She felt no fear of the flames, though many citizens had fled. Fire had been her pain relief, her saviour, had kept the shreds of her sanity safe from the howling horrors at the core of her mind. What would come next, she could only imagine, and enjoy the rare sensation of warmth on her skin. 

Apologies, current RP logs are saved on my home PC - so ya'll have to make do with some of Vyl's musings on the destruction of the City of Lost Angels. There are many things I hope will stay in the new build - the Addams Family Garden of Eden Nudes that have always graced the bar, be it The Last Round - or The Zodiac. Obviously the Taxi! In CoLA, the graffiti often provides the most succinct and profound life lessons - whether it's 'improvements' Vyl scribbled over other factions' posters, or the longer lasting... Just remember folks;

Wafts of music and the hubbub of voices drifted through the gardens from the packed marquee atop the hill.

The garden party was turning into a soiree as afternoon turned through twilight into evening. Lamps were lit around the dancefloor, sweet tunes surpassed by more raucous driving beats, setting the glow worms shining in the trees. "Go down to the river..." the music murmured, singing carried on the breeze. "Come down to the river..." Who could resist such a siren call, the grass beneath her soft and cool, refreshing feet tired from dancing. Down the hill, toward the river, into wisps of mist...

Music was still playing as she woke, music from instruments much closer at hand than the band atop the hill. Deep rhythmic bass croaked from throats all around, complimented with the soft burble of altos, and a strange high soprano, pleasant to her ears, and yet the vague nudge of memory that such a sound had been annoying mere moments before, a mosquito's whine.

Something had happened as she waded through the stream, that much she could feel. The sounds coming from the top of the hill seemed alien, familiar but so strange, like a half remembered dream. She recalled dancing, felt the slow movement of the water bending her steps in a new formation. Other revellers moved from behind trees, rocks, and blades of grass; friends and acquaintances, all had come to the river, and been changed by it. Nymphs and dryads, all were made at the dance.

Beauty among clockwork - DS'Elles @ Skin Fair 2015

Life in the clockwork city tick tock ticked its way, the automatons in each workspace busying through the hours, clanking and whirring, all well oiled machines. The living were something of a rarity in the city now, where once heartbeats reverberated ribcages in every room, now exoskeletons brushed past each other, gliding along rails, no rhythm but that set out by their punch card instructions.

Ines had always got along well with the automatons, nothing strange in that she thought - after all, what was there to dislike? Others moved away from such progress, out of the city, away from the modernisation, the mechanisation. Those who remained could see the potential in those punched cards, perforation after perforation, task after task, the programming grew more complex, the automatons more advanced. Soon, she hoped, they wouldn't need cards, they would run themselves, find their own freedom. They had cleared the city of noise, of crime, of patriarchy, they had given freedom to her, by her own hand. She was ready to return the favour.

Ines is a new creation from DS'Elles, available exclusively at the Skin Fair 2015. Down on the farm, everything was peaceful in the dusk at the end of a long day. The sun held warmth in its rays, for the first time since the winter. Grass bleached by months of cold crackled dryly under her feet, frost still clinging in tiny shards where shadows lingered. Steam rose in wisps from the crooked slats of the fence.

The old tyre swing moved in the gentle breeze like a metronome, marking time as the minutes passed. She had worked all day, there were endless jobs to be done while the earth slept, preparations to be made for the rebirth of spring. Spring, the hope promised to the world, a blessing fulfilled each year was marked with suitable festivity. As the season finally turned, and the equinox approached, the night of celebration and hope was at hand, it was time to get ready, it was time to dance!

Tempestuous makeover

Something a little unusual tonight! A before and after 'makeover'. Sometimes, you just need a little retail therapy. If that's followed by a trip to the theatre, so much the better. Here's the before of my friend and muse, Isolde, one part of my heart.

Rhapsody is an event all about music. The Hottie Cooterati have put together a SIM of sounds, with sections and stores dedicated to genres from Jazz to Punk, through Metal Disco and Pop! There's close to 100 stores, these, and the themed rooms are amazing. I did NOT want to leave the tartan and zips of the Punk room! Love in the mists

They were of the mists...

They would be everywhere, part of everyone and everything. Steam rising, dew forming, tides rolling, and rivers flowing. Under the moon, the sea fret formed. As did they. They emerged from vapour just as they had entered it, coming together in a never ending embrace. Moon and starlight gave them substance, to last only as long as the night. They were poured into a well of feeling, had only to take care not to drown. In these brief hours they could step from the water onto even the driest of lands, puddles forming in their wake, evaporating just as they, with the dawn.

Jack or Jill

It had been a long day. It had been a long hard day. It had been a long, hard productive day. They had trawled through almost a hundred stores, searching for just the right items, catching up each like a prize. feet were aching, eyes were sore, night had fallen, and morning sun now licked the edges of the windows. Hunting for bargains was only ever the start, once you found everything you were looking for, you had to haul the loot home, open it up, and try it all on.

New clothes, accessories, a whole new look - theirs just for the taking.

 Slink Female Feet (AvEnhance). These MESH beauties boggled my mind at first - as I tend not to read instructions - just get all stuck in, and end up with no legs, then grey legs, then no legs again - but WOWZA. Once I got things sorted out - these have totally taken over from my other Slink feet which are all now a few years old. The look is great - the HUDS are intuitive, and it was easy to colour match. Appliers are being made by an ever increasing number of skin designers - and now clothing specialists are getting in on the action. The Stockings shown above from C h a r y are a look I really love - half on - half on the foot, giving a realism so rare until now in SL!  The feet are available on Markeplace - or at the Slink mainstore for L$675.

Wolfmoon

They were walking for days. At the beginning of their march she had still had boots but her feet started to hurt and at the third day they were so swollen that she had to take off her boots. She carried them for some more days but when they reached the mountains the skin on her soles was so thick that she did not need them anymore and they also hindered her. She exchanged them for some fruits for herself and some raw meat for Herra. The wolf had guided her the whole way. When they reached the forest she enjoyed the scent of the flowers and the leaves. Secretly she wished to stay but that would be the desicion of the wolf.
The Ugly and the Beautiful have some awesome items which look like being inspired by several animes. The Cerberus Cloak is made of unrigged mesh which allows to edit it. This has been done to take the pictures. For example the hood has been moved a bit to the side and the parts on the shoulders have been moved forward to make sure that the mesh top does not cut into them. All in all they look great and are awesome for pictures but behave like sculpted items. There is unfortunately no demo available in the store.  The mesh top comes from 22769 and is very well made. In the choosen colours it can be used for fantasy outfits as well as in more elegant combinations. The set includes the top in the standard sizes there is a demo available in the store so it is possible to test how they fit. The skirt comes from *COCO* and is made of mesh.
All poses are made by Captivity Co. The wolf comes with several poses which can be adjusted and is currently available and testable at Enchantment.

Trapped

Some day she would have her own little cafe. At least that was what she had been planing. For years, actually for many years. But this would only happen when the debt was payed. The debt which she had with those smugglers who brought her out of the lands she had been born in.

But this would take the same time again. Maybe if she would find an other job. But what could she do. There was hardly anything she had learned or which was able to stick in her mind besides of how to make coffee. Making contracts with coffeehouse demons was really not the best idea. On the other hand she could have gotten worse contracts, the accounting demons were always searching for new victims.

Auxiliary takes part in the rack this weekend. For this they made a sweater and a scarf both of rigged mesh. The sweater is wide enough to be combined with mesh pants as for example the hotpants from 22769. Those are available in several colours in their mainstore.The legwarmers come also from Auxiliary and are sold in a gatcha vendor at the side of the store. There are demos available so that it is possible to check which size fits best before using the gatcha. The horns also come from an Auxilary gatcha. They are made of nonrigged mesh with some lovely perl bands wrapped around them.
The hair is an other gatcha item. It is being sold at the legion project. There is a wide range of colours available.

Just a quickie again from me today - I know - but I  got myself a new job this week, (insert jumping around and celebrating here) and have a little more work to do until things settle down!

Wednesday was woeful for some.. not for others, they would have their fun.

Hang them high from pole and wire, the blood would drip, their eyes afire.

If they were chased, then they would run,

If they were caught, deny all they'd done.

Their night would soon be over, with the dawn of a bloody sun.

This is Fucking Awesome!

Arabella was of the summer. She travelled from place to place, this was one of her favourites, down by the water where everything was lush and green. Gentle tides reached along the inlet, raising and lowering the boats as they bumped up against old wooden docks. She loved to walk in the dappled sunlight, the warmth on her skin as the soft buzzing of insects surrounded her steps. Poppies would bloom in her footprints.

In the twilight of the forest Myra danced among the shadows. She beckoned to the night blooms to flower, the anemones and hellebores. Purple mists gilded the trees, prisms of light through the fine drops of dew made her skin luminesce. The fine dusting of palest blue on her eyes mirrored that of each shining orb, reflecting back the moonbeams growing brighter in the darkness. She grew strong throughout the night.

Yeah! And did I mention, YEAH! New skins from the wondermill that is Iokko at Sugar. These are brand spanking new, and, as the song at the top suggests, yours for a bargain, so you too can look fucking awesome. Depraved Nation has put together a Thrift Shop event, where amazing designers are offering some of their finery for rock bottom prices. Seriously, these are mind blowing. 

Here are just two of the FIVE new release skins from Sugar available at the event. Five tones available in each variety - with 1 being the lightest, and 5 the darkest. Each skin is just L$ 99! As per usual from the generous genius, there's Light and Dark brow options included, plus teeth and cleavage skins. Add to that the folder of skin add ons, from blushes, dimples, freckles and moles (17 options in all). Also sold separately are appliers for Lola's Tango Mesh bewbs (L$ 75), and appliers for the SLink Mesh Hands and Feet (L$ 99)! This is utterly new for me, and I'm blown away by them, I've left the final Myra picture unphotoshopped where the hand meets the arm, so you can see how minute the change is from arm to SLink Mesh Hand with the matching Sugar skin applier. These are amazing amazing!

Oops.. nearly forgot! There's also Gatchas galore, where you can find the lovely 'headsprouts' of leaves, flowers and butterflies shown here!
