One life, one chance...

High on the cloud mountain the citadel of memories nestled between stone and iron. Each dwelling a fortress for those within its protection, when stepping outside into thick hanging mists meant madness and death. Darkness and swirling winds wrapped around each strongfast, pressing in against brick and glass...

Such special glass, poured aeons earlier it seemed, deep in the mines of the mountain, where no light but coalfire ever reached. It filtered moonlight from the mists, lighting the rooms where it was wanted, letting those who remained inside see what they would. Sylba liked to see, liked to watch. Her watchroom was filled with screens, lit in the gloaming with flickers of those spirits beyond the walls, the ghosts who wailed in the mists.

Within the walls though, she felt as a caged bird. Stories of such, or the lingering memories of them at least, had played on her screens for so many years. Sylba had seen them there, flying free, through skies of blue. Skies far different in time or miles from the purple and green bruised skies above her own cage. The feeling grew stronger each day, demanding recognition. That was when she called for Gryphon.

She called for him each time the lost souls came too close; through the glass high above, and from the screens before her. Gryphon wandered the wilds more than she, charms and sigils added the touch of tradition to his protective clothing, now discarded at the airlock. He would come when she called, whenever he was needed. There were bound together, heartstrings and ropes.

The designs that filled her mind would be etched on her skin by his touch. Already rendered in inks were her fear of living as the caged bird, never free to fly as intended. The sun still shone brightly, if only here in her world of moonlight. Flowers and insects long gone from the lands, but not forgotten, remembered by Sylba as part of herself. The sacred heart, a recent addition, had been inspired by Gryphon. As he had walked through the rubble and wastes of the old city, far from the current citadel, spirits long at rest had stirred again. Following the living, singing the stories of their souls. Belief rained down that night, longing poured over the screens like wine into cups at a feast. That image, that symbol, burned in their minds and soon found a place in her to rest. She had called him again tonight, skin would lie on skin, and images form. What they would be, only the spirits could tell, each had their life, and this one last chance to be remembered...

These jeans are made with a fanatastic texture - very unusual, not your normal denim. In the blue - they look great - here in the grey option - they look like roughed up old tweeds. You can see the shredded material on the knee.

Womenstuff...

From way back when in 2007, I've always liked to look for the best freebies or at least reasonably priced things I could find. From trawling 'yard sales' and freebie warehouses in ye olden days, to the wonder of having more group slots, and from there, more options to link to favourite stores, and their often generous owners gifts. Now, I have my favourite stores groups - sadly 42 slots still aint enough - and as previous posts have shown, I do love a hunt to get new things! A friend had been a member of the Menstuff group for a long while, doing their hunt, and getting things from their 'lounge' of gifts. I actually have pics of him ready for a different post, and after contemplating adding them in here, I won't, it can wait a few days. I digress. After seeing what he'd got, I was convinced to join the Womenstuff group, and see what I could get for myself.  The group is free to join, I was expecting a charge, but there is none. The Lounge of gifts is for group members only, and there are lots, I mean LOTS of gifts. If I remember rightly the grid of gift boxes is 13 x 13, and most slots contain a gift. Everything from hair, skin, shapes to clothes, shoes and jewelery.

Rather than bombard with a mass of items, today I'll focus on three skins, a shape, tattoo and shoes. Oh, and a pose. Still a bit of a mass I agree...

When looking at skins, there are a few places I focus on to see the quality, to decide if it's something I would want to wear. Face is a given of course, I also look for shading and muscletone on the body, and importantly, the quality of the nails. While I often wear prim nails, sometimes it's not possible, especially with the loss of multi attach points on some viewers. When I can't wear them, and I'm already wearing a glove layer and tattoo for other effects, I'd rather not have ugly white tips on the ends of my fingers. All these skins are really excellent for that, some of the best quality texture of nails I've seen actually, which is amazing considering they are free.

Tree ancestor

None of the other fighters dared to have as long hair as Ethelinda. But they did not have her skills and also not her problems. There must have been a tree somewhere in her family. It was not really clear if one of the grandmothers of her grandmothers was one or one of their mothers. But her hair was way thicker than the hair of others and sometimes she grew twigs. So everyday she had to search for new buds and in spring she sometimes had to deflower herself.

The Dewi pants belong to the latest collection of the MIAMAI Blacklabel. The Ansiotropic jacket belongs to the same subbrand of MIAMAI. Both items are stunningly unique. The pants are made of very thin cloth which reminds on stockings. But they have panties so everything is covered as it should be. At the sides the trousers have some lace made of prims. The Dewi pants are also available in silver and come on the pants and the undies layer and the set contains also socks so its possible to wear them in highheels. The jacket could be worn like on the picture or with some primparts around the hips. The gloves which come with the jacket are great. They look like being pulled down a bit. It is also possible to wear the gloves without the jacket and to combine them with other clothes.
Wasabi Pills the store where the hair comes from recently moved. They now have their store on the Coraline sim. Captivity Co where the pose comes from also recently moved. Its now on Pluto.

Black Coats

She was a smoker since her last boyfriend had left her. This was about twelve years ago and sometimes when laying alone in her bed she was wondering how it could have been if they would have stayed together.

In those nights she normaly she had horrible nightmares. But when she woke and smoked the first cigarette she always felt better. Of course she could have stayed with him. He was the most stubborn man she had met in centuries. Maybe this was the reason why she fell for him. Of course his blood was also tasty. But he got so angry when she drank the blood of others. After he had been five years with her she offerd him to make him to one of her kin. But he did not want that. They started to argue everyday. He wanted to adopt children, she did not want to get attached to beings which would be most likely even more tasty than him. She was not glad when seeing him ageing. In her opinion it was just silly of him secretly she supposed that he only did not want to become one of her kin to anger her. But then he left. She never really understood why he did not stay with her. She had been willing to stay with him until he would die but he did not want her to do so. Sometimes she supposed that he left because of his job. She never understood why a priest had spend so much time with her.

When seeing the Radu Coats from A:S:S the first time I fell immediately for them. But as they were created for men I was insecure how they would look at my avatar. At the end I was not able to resist and bought the onyx version of the coat. And it fits. Of course it was needed to rotate some of the primparts a bit and to resize them. But this took maybe around 10 minutes. I love the shading of the coat and the patterns on the primpart are very beautiful. The systemparts come on all layers so its possible to wear clothes under the coat. I decided to combine it with the ducttapes from League. The cigarette holder belongs to a set from Icing.

Combat training

She spend ages of training at home. Jumping through the room one knife at her leg the other one caught between her lips. Walking on her hands, jumping around. Her body was covered with bruises and scars from all the training. After she had managed to destroy all her clothes she finally found a solution. So she wrapped herself into duct tape which was the first material which survived her training.

I love the new boots from Perse. As everything from that store they are elegant and sophisticated. At the moment they are available in ten colours here a picture of five of them. The boots look like being perfect for long walks, shopping and also for spending some time in the barn. They look great to short dresses as well as combined with tight trousers. The boots come with a resize script. The duct tape comes from League and the knives are both available at Virtual/Insanity. The short grey dress is one of my favourites from 22769. It is a knitdress which could also be worn as top combined with jeans.

Who says I can't wear that?

My father! that's who always said that to me in my days as a real life student. So when I picked up these boots  from Deco in the menstuff hunt , I knew instinctively what I would wear them with...I'd wear them with exactly what I would have done when I was a student.
{ "you wear such pretty things then I look down and you've got on some miners old boots, you can't go out looking like that!" ... "urghhh dad!"  - * goes off to sulk and listen to The Smiths* }
  The top part of this outfit is made up of 2 different tops - being a tunic ( from oyakin)  and the long sleeve part is  part of a sweater ( from Emery). Love this tutu style skirt ...which [yes dad] would look sweet with some little ballet pumps.

Taped and Collared

Staring out of big dragon eyes after having been captured. At least they did not ask for dancing to filmmusic from Disney. But she was used way better clothing.When seeing the Duct tape set from League i needed to have it. Its pretty cool in my opinion. The set contains three versions of duct tape to cover the upper bits and also three different ones for the lower bits. Also included is some ducttape for the mouth. Its a prim part. The collar comes from Virtual/Insanity. Its one of the prettiest collars i ever have seen in my opinion. It has two inbuild necklaces and looks like being made of a material with a nice feeling surface. Virtual/Insanity also takes part in some hunts today and is definitly worth a visit.
