With another Menstuff hunt well under way, I found it a good excuse to man up! well I apparently look like the fifth Beatle in my new male look ( so i'm told ) and I can totally live with that! yes it's quite a retro mod look and as it's Fathers day today, I thought I'd pay tribute to my very own & super special father as this is exactly how he used to dress in his youth.

Feeling lucky?

 I was feeling lucky today, on my hunt for the under 50L items I dropped on some great luckyboards that all just fit together so perfectly...how lucky is that? I adore the Somapop store and so was thrilled to pick up these great printed leggings there, with 2 other boards bearing great gifts (one is a shirt for men).

Orient Express

Stretching after having sat a long time on a very comfy sofa in one of the most famous trains of the world, the Orient Express.

This skybox from [-BLUE SKY-] is created with the great idea to transport the feeling of riding a train into second life. It consists of a big box and a train inside of that box. On the inner wall of the box there are animated textures which move around the train so sitting or standing inside of the train it feels like you would be the one who moves. The idea is simple but very impressing in my opinion. I also love the textures which have been used inside of the train. The blue carpet and the wall texture are stunning. The train has a dining room for two persons and two cabins. One of the cabin has a table the other one does not. The furniture is not linked to the train so you could simply remove it and place different furniture if you do not like it. The sofas in the cabins have several animations. The whole skybox has 176 prims and a size of 50 m x 10 m. It comes in a version with and one without trainsounds. In my opinion it is great for taking pictures in it. The Orient Express Skybox will be for a week on the [-BLUE SKY-] Lucky board from 10 March.

The outfit i used for the picturs is free and consists of huntitems and luckyboard gifts. The necklace is the hunt for roleplay gift from cogoo. It comes with a resizescript. I won the skin on the heartsick luckyboard. In the box are several versions of it (with cleavage and without). The dress is an other lucky board item, i won it at Tart. The leggins, the v-neck top and the pink flats are all gifts in the march into spring hunt.

Cold Beach

Standing at the beach and having some problems with the umbrella because of the wind. The weather is a bit annoying and causes cold hands which is even more annoying. At least there aren t too many waves so it is still possible to check the makeup by using the water as mirror.

Some time ago Virtual / Insanity made a really cool frog bag for a hunt. I still like that bag a lot and now they created a bag which looks similar but with a different picture on it. This time its some skulls instead of a frog. Which is a good thing because i think that a girl with a skull bag gets more kisses than one with a frog bag. The purple shirt is a hunt gift in the march into spring hunt. It comes from somapop. Poses with a prop are very good for pictures so i like the new umbrella poses from just a pose a lot. It is possible to change the texture of the umbrella and the set includes the poses, the poses with umbrellas and umbrellas which could be worn with ao.

A fine romance? [3]

He had attended the exhibition, and tried to find an opportunity to introduce himself to her. Not because he was desperate to meet her, of course he was curious about her, but more than anything he wanted her to know who he was, he wanted her to notice. Unfortunately no such occasion had presented itself, as Auguste Chevallier a local cafe owner seemed to be taking her attention all evening!

 He was not so fond of Auguste, and not because he was considered competition in the world of gastronomy! absolutely not! it was more about his overt superiority complex that did not bode well.

That was the last time he had seen her for over a week. He had got quite used to her daily visits to his Restaurant, and had felt surprisingly uplifted by her presence, of course he hadn't realised this until she was no longer there. He casually dropped it in conversation to Marthe that he hadn't had any odd requests for hibiscus tea for a few days. Naturally Marthe picked up this as only the one customer had ever asked for such a thing  " that is one request that Auguste Chevallier will be getting these days as he has commissioned her to do a painting" Marthe replied........ that was when he decided he needed a little fresh air.

Painless Tattoos

Sometimes Tattoos are great but its even greater when they stay just for a short time. Diapop relased henna tattoos for the arms. Thats a good reason to combine them with some more Diapop and Somapop items. I blogged the green scarf ages ago. Its just a clothing layer so it keeps the Avatar rendering costs low. The shirt below the scarf is a ramones shirt. Always a good object to show some attitude. The jeans are also from diapop.

Who says I can't wear that?

My father! that's who always said that to me in my days as a real life student. So when I picked up these boots  from Deco in the menstuff hunt , I knew instinctively what I would wear them with...I'd wear them with exactly what I would have done when I was a student.

Spending time with friends

Sitting in the new Somapop / Diapop store wearing the latest Diapop release. The store just opened its new mainstore on a lovely island which reminds me very much on holidays. If it would be a real place i would love to spend my vacations there. As Soma and Dianne, the storeowners, love to DJ they also got an area for dancing there and there are also some smaller shops on the sim allready. Its a nice place to visit. The outfit is available in two versions in a white one and a golden one. Somehow i thought it would be a good idea to use this tattooed skin from Aliza Karu with it but im not so sure about that anymore. But well the jumpers are lovely and i like the texture Dianne gave them a lot.

Au Revoir Mashooka

Mashooka is one of the best stores in Second life. Now their are going to take a break of a undefined time (they will still be on x-street). The store is still open at the moment so there is still the chance to get some things from the lucky chair. And to get a great hunt gift.

The top on the left side the mashooka with love from ... hunt gift. It could be either worn with naked shoulders or with a shirt under it. The golden trousers come from Somapop but the pink dress on the right is from one of the Mashooka lucky chairs.

Bodysuits

Diapop released some cute bodysuits. They are available in white, brown and kind of a mix of yellow, white and grey. The suits come on all layers so you could wear either leggins under them or wear them with jeans. Or you just wear one of them while sitting in the bathroom and using nail polish. Beside the cute poses Croire has some other cute stuff in the for the love of halloween gatcha party. I love the little bows you could get for the head. The bags are also rather cool and many books fit into them. They even got a gatcha for warm carpets with pretty patterns. One of the items from C'est moi is a rather cute shirt.

Somapop and Diapop

I first heared of somapop and diapop when i was a noob, who had found the way to the flickr freebie groups. They had a set of trousers for 1 Linden and i loved them for that. Later i found out that the store has wonderful and uniqe basics which are great for combinations. And that it belongs to two people wich causes also the two brandnames. Many of the items from Somapop are unisex items. For example the t-shirts and the jeans. Its great how they manage to make the clothes look like being 3d with just using the system layers.

At the diapop gatcha it is possible to get nice antlers in different colours. What i really like are the comfy sweaters. They have a knit texture. Of course those sweaters are not only systemlayer tops. The sleves and some other parts are made of prims. The texturing of the trousers is also well done. So they look like they are really worn. For me thats something which makes Somapop and Diapop unique. They manage to make basic clothes which could be combined with a lot of other things.

When having a look at the new Somapop branch on the nam3less sim i met Soma and Dianne together with one of their neighbours in their store. So i used the chance for a quick interview. (Soma and Dianne are the ones without claws)

Dagmar Haiku: Because of which reasons did you choose your storenames and are you using a branding concept?
Soma and Dianne: Tinker Hax from Amflify came up with the idea from somapop. Soma his sl name and pop because pop is POP! And Diapop is the female side from Somapop

Dagmar Haiku: Many stores closed lately. What do you think about that development. Do you think only big brands have a chance in second life or do you think that smaller labels have a bigger success?
Soma and Dianne: We are not so busy with other shops, sure we love to shop here in sl but we like to find new small shops or new japanese shops, they are so talentend. And we think it's a pitty when people who worked hard for it have to close their shops, thats a shame. But we have no idea why shops are closing, private matters maybe? Or too much rent? Dagmar Haiku: How do you get the ideas for the outfits you build? Do you just create what you personally would like to wear in second life? Or are you trying to be trendy?
Dianne Peccable: We just build what we like to wear personally here...or what a friend wants from us ... we dont care about trends.. not even in rl...if Soma likes to wear/build a big pink fluffy hat... he'll do;)

Dagmar Haiku: You also work Dj from time to time. What was your favourite band when you have been 14 and whats your current favourite band?
Soma Mayo: as i was 14 my fav band was kiss and ramones and nothing else....today still the ramones and so much more...from pop, to hardcorepunk

Soma Mayo: theres no problem for me bc the most Dutchies in final are referees ;) (last time was just an accident) and the dutchies who play in the german league are great!
Dianne Peccable: Yes I love to argue about football with him and I would kick him on his ass in sl if Germany would win from Holland in the finals .. but guess what, Germany wasnt in the final :P hahaha but Holland was! :D Poor Soma is still sick from that match! Dagmar Haiku: Is there anything you would like to add?
Soma and Dianne: Ofcourse our shop at sunrise dream....and the new place we run with our Italian friends, the nam3less sim, we have a great club, cool shops there ( Teddy696 Clowes from **KKPP** shop one of the best talented sculpters and scripters) and some nice vendors to rent.. we dj random parties here...or relax at the beach... you all are very welcome there

Somapop and Diapop take part in the creators pavilion Summer sale at the moment. So thats a chance to test the quality of their outfits without paying much. The yellow panda shirt always makes me smile somehow that panda looks very friendly. The harem trousers are from diapop and have laces at the side. The sheer shirt could either be worn with a bra under it or when being in private also without.

Hide and Seek

Today i played hide and seek with my friend T-rexie. He tried to hide behind a building but i found him. I tried to tickle him and then i ran away because it was his turn to find me.
I hid on a store sign. And hoped that he wouldn`t find me there as he has the habbit to eat my shoes after having found me.
But then i looked closer at the shell next to me. And then i looked into it and found some nice clothes in it. I even found some more shells and some more gifts.

Somapop and Diapop opened a new satelite store on a cute beach sim. Its a complete new sim and there are some more stores on it. For the opening they have a hunt there. You search for shells. Some are hidden in the stores and some are just somewhere on the sim. The gifts are great.

The T-Rex was on the midnight mania board at Neon Frog studios. I pestered poor Diana to slap the board and to place it on the sim to surprise Soma.

Party hangover

Sitting tired in an egg chair nibbling at it from time to time to get rid of the hangover. But it does not really work. I even felt so bad that i needed to change my shirt. Luckily i had a fresh one.
After some more hours of sleep i grabbed a t-shirt and went to the park to play football with my friends (after asking the octopus if im going to win of course).
The egg chair is comfy, well made and has only 3 prims, well it wouldn t be well made if it would have 30 prims. It comes from cogoo a cool store in the wastelands. Somehow the owners of that store like having their shops in cool places they also have a branch in little china which belongs to the city of lost angels sims.
The longsleeve shirts and the shorts are from the new basics collection from 22769. The shorts have been available in green at the alphabet soup market but as that has been a limited offer and they looked so nice they are going to release them in some more colours. I hope they will do black ones too. The shirt comes as always on all layers.
The last shirt is something mainly germans might like as it is a Günter Netzer shirt. Its a gift from somapop and diapop to the end of the go4goal hunt and available in the sportshuntgroupmessages.

Cute skirts

I love mnk the textures of the stuff from that store are just superb. So I stalked their lucky boards and got two nice skirts.

This skirt is on the lucky board in their store at Switch. The shirt is the latest groupgift from Somapop. If you click on the picture you might be able to read the text on it. The socks are a dollarbie from Crayon Design and they are tintable wich is quite useful.

Kuri Style

The main store of Kuri Style got a bit rebuilt. Now its possible to sit there on a very comfy sofa. And there are some gifts and cheapies in the store. Some of the dresses are even reduced for a limited time. For example this nice green outfit. It comes with shoes and different wearing options.

Test clothes and more

Meriken is testing a new gift card system at the moment. And to make it possible for all to test the system they give away a giftcard for a free shirt. The system is quite cool. You give the card to a machine, press enter and get the shirt. I have never seen something like that before and im sure its quite usefull.

Im always glad when i find clothing without prims, the system shirts and trousers are much more usefull and you don t need to spend hours on the posestand to resize them. So i m very glad about having found this great shawl top at Somapop. Its wearable as top so its really hot and as its non prim, everything is always covered perfectly.
