Wrong Mermaids

The waves stroked her feet while she wandered over the water. It was typical for her kin to wander over the water. All of them were great swimmers and even able to fly when they were in their true form. But of course it was more fun to surprise sailing humans. When she was younger she sometimes had pretended to be a mermaid with a lack in singing abilities but after a while it bored her. So she started to climb onto anchoring ships. Of course humans were always a bit irritated by her horns and ears but they always supposed that they were kind of decoration and of course they were sure that she somehow had managed to get into the ship before they started sailing and not that she found them in the middle of the ocean. Depending on the age and the gender of the sailors she started to tell them stories. For example that she would be the secret daughter of one of them. When she found sailing couples she normaly pretended to be the secret lover of the woman. It was always entertaining and she did not need to sing to have some fun with humans.

Evie's Closet is a great store when it comes to fantasy outfits for females. Their items range from fairy dresses over gowns for humans to mermaid outfits. This nymph dress is in-between. It consists of primparts which seem to be made of a very thin fabric and of a scale layer for the bottom and the top. It also can be worn without the systemlayer for the top but then it is not possible to wear the outfit on a pg sim. Included in the set are also a gem for the forehead and armpieces which have been made of pearls. The top was first too big for my avatar but the creator recommended to put a resize script into it, which helped and so it was possible to make it fit at the end. Evie's Closet has a 50% sale going on at the moment so its worth to visit the store and to have a look at all the fantastic dresses.
The long hair comes from Magika. It consists of two parts which makes it possible to wear it even with a rather bouncy ao. The set also contains a mirrored version and it is possible to dye the streak at the side in a different colour than the rest of the hair. The resizescript which is being controlled with a hud resizes both parts of the hair at the same time. That means its very easy to adjust the hair to the avatar.
The ears come from the Plastik. They have a bunch of tiny keys hanging of them.

Oh, Twisted Hunt... why do you have to tempt me so? Despite of all the decoys, the 'hunts inside of the hunt' and the various curses that escaped me while searching my way through the variety of stores, I once again couldn't resist to participate. Of course, I could simply refrain from doing it when it annoys me so, but... you can see one of the reasons why I fought insanity to find that little, rotating cube of purple evil nonetheless above. Yes, two of the three more than generous prizes from a store I've come to like for its extraordinary creations: gilded:

The goodies were comparatively easy to find (No.3 is a lovely pose which isn't shown in this post), but even if I'd have had to derender the entire store to grab hold of them, I'd done it without batting an eye. White satyr legs, even more when made in such a stunning fashion, fuzzy fur pants and fancy hair always make me drool - I just can't help it! The Unseelie Hair is a piece of sculpted goodness that can be worn with or without a hairbase and comes in two sizes, small and large, while alpha-layers prevent you from nasty visual bugs when you're wearing your brand new hooves. I'm off to hop through the woods for a little more... don't forget to pay gilded: a visit until the 30th of September when the Twisted Hunt ends, and treat yourself with these little pieces of art!

Isis

Amunent was proud. Not as proud as she could have been but proud. It was not really surprising as she was the most important priestess in the whole land. She served Isis nearly her whole life. First she still had lived with her family and went to the temple every day. But since she was eight years old she lived in the temple. Her grandmother had been the high priestess of Isis and Amunent was supposed to have the same position one day. Of course she needed to pass the test. But she did very well. The moonplate started to glow as soon as she was wearing the holy headdress.

The idea to create horns which look like the ones Isis has is great in my opinion. These horns have been created by gilded. They could be worn with or without the pearlheaddress. The moon between the horns glows. As the horns are mod it is possible to change their size or to tint them. The outfit on the pictures comes from Ezura. I blogged the black version some time ago. This is the white tintable version of it.

Working plans

Sabja and Amphisbaene her friend and confidant were tired. They had worked the whole night but it seemed like were slowly getting what they wanted. Born as human Amphisbaene had been cursed and forced to live as snake but this did not disconnect her from her magical powers soon she was able to transform in nearly every form she wanted to use. Sabja was the daughter of the archmage, so she was often the target of assaults but the snake had started to help her friend. This night was an important night Amphisbaene had spend ages in the workplace of one of the biggest enemys of Sabja's mother. For hours she had pretended to be a sculpture and so she had been able to hear whispered secrets and even more important she knew what the wizzard planed. He wanted to send his men to kidnap and to kill Sabja, one of his apprentices should transfer the soul of one of his cats into her body and revive her again. Nobody but Sabja knew that Amphisbaene was the strongest mage in the town and the snake did not want her friend to be killed. So she forced the wizzard to look like Sabja. Filled up with drugs they locked him in Sabja's room and were amazed finding him the next day and had a good laugh when he asked for milk.

The items in this blog post come all from stores I love and they have all one thing in common. Frippery, Gilded, Sterling Artistry,Kouse's Sanctum and Wasabi Pills take all part at the Fantasy faire. Gilded made the crystal wings they come in several sizes and with and without resize script. The set contains also a crystal mask for the face. The eyes are a donation item from Sterling Artistry. They are very big as it are elf eyes and the textures are wonderful as all eyes from that store. The long ponytail hair with the twigs is the latest release from Wasabi Pills and also available without the twigs and in many many colours. I love dresses in ocean colours and so this gown from Kouse's Sanctum makes me smile. The shades of green and blue are just lovely.

The Jewlery from Frippery fits perfectly to the rest of the outfit or the outfit fits perfectly to the jewlery. The bracers on the upper picture are the Frippery donation items at the faire. They are mod so it was no problem to make them smaller to make them fit. They look like being made of golden metal with tiny purple roses on them. The idea is great and Elizabeth, the owner of Frippery, must have spend lots of hours being very concentrated while building them.

At the fantasy faire also a hunt is going on. The earrings and the necklace belong to the hunt gift from Frippery. They are made of many many small prims and look very beautiful. I guess they suit every princess, queen or fairy. A necklace also belongs to the set. Frippery takes also part in the silent auction at the fantasy faire. The prize Elizabeth offers there is very special. It is one item which will be created special for the winner of the auction. So the winner will be her muse and she will build something unique for that person. Elizabeth's skills are amazing so its a great chance to get something really special and even help the American Cancer Society by doing so.

The Twisted Hunt is on again and running from March, 1st til the 31st. This is the fifth hunt since it was started in March 2009, and the theme this time is 'Nevermore' - right, just like the well-known raven, and many of the prizes are indeed related to this beautiful, dark bird. Known to be one of the hardest hunts in SL, it needs indeed lots of patience, luck and sometimes indescribable camera angles to finally spot the little rotating 'cube of doom' that carries the prize, but I can assure you, the goodies are well worth the effort. 218 stores in total are waiting for you, and I wanted to show you a little selection of the prices beforehand.

Remade

She had tried it again and again. But she had no chance. Her wings were totally corrupted. With every try to fly she only hurt herself more. Her nose was bleeding now for nearly an hour and she did not care. Also not about the wound on her cheek. She only wanted to fly. But this would happen nevermore.

I love the idea of remades which appears often in the books by China Miéville. People who commited a crime and get bodyparts from animals or mechanical bodyparts as punishment. The boots i blogged yesterday from gilded allready reminded me very much on those stories. The ravenclaws and legs from the same store let me even more think about remades. The legs and is spend some time on a posestand together until they were small enough not to sink through the ground anymore. The set with the claws had smaller versions included those fit fine. Both parts come with alphalayers for one part and both parts so that it is possible to wear only the feet or only the arms or both at the same time.
In my opinion those arms and legs are really great roleplay items, for example as feet when somebody put a bad spell on somebody else and this caused that the appearance of the victim changed, or as punishment like the Remade by Miéville.
The black feathery dress with the roses on top is an item from the barbee sale. A sale with lots of japanese stores. All the items are sold for 49$ each. The dress did fit without any adjusting and came with the collar, the top and the skirt. Of course there are system layers included which cover all bits decently.

STEAM - the Hunt preview I

She was content, very content. It had cost her feet but this was a price she was more than willing to pay. Finally she had managed to let her house fly. And who would miss having feet if having a flying house? Instead of whimpering after the big explosion (she had tested some really intresting things) she spend the time she needed to heal on building a pair of boots which allowed her to walk as well as before. The technology she developed because of that helped her a lot to solve the problems with the house. Steam was the solution she never had supposed that.

The fourth round of STEAM - the Hunt is going to start at the 1st March. This time more than 180 Stores are going to take part. I d like to show some previews of the gifts. The upper picture has been taken in the gift from Morigi Steam . As seeable it is a skybox. The windows could be closed and opened as well as the curtain. The textures are elegant in my opinion. I like the silver leaves a lot.

D & M Dream Furniture also have a skybox as huntgift. As the Skybox from Morigi Steam many metal textures have been used. It is even possible to clean the windows. The bucket on the little table has such an animation inbuilt and the towel on the bucket gives when being touched a piece of cloth which could be attached at the hand. The skybox is 25 x 38 metres and partly furnitshed allready. There are some pictures and even a fire place.

The items from Alkahest are perfect to furnitsh the found skyboxes. That store has a wonderful lamp with gears, some picture frames made of gears and even a flower with a gear as hunt gift. The lamp is very lovely in my opinion. Not only the bulb on the top shines also the two gears at the side light the room.

Zoe's Garden made of course something for the garden. A fountain made of a big gear. The water makes sounds which is calming. The textures are in shades of dark red and brown just steampunkish.

When looking at the item from Arkigrafx i was more than confused. It is a very beautiful building but not very big. It looks very beautiful but i found no machine or something like that in the inside. So when reading the notecard to the item i had a good laugh when recognizing that i had been confused by a public toilet. The item is named Steampunk Vespasiano. It is an public toilet which really are named after Vespasian.

Of course the Hydraulic Boot are an hunt gift as well. I like the idea a lot. For my avatar i had to make them much smaller which was not very tricky. They could be worn with or without alpha layers. I liked them better without but maybe not everybody has no problem with having an avatar who has Hydraulic boots instead of feet. For those it works fine to wear the boots without the alphalayer. The legs are seeable between the rods. The kimono isn't a hunt gift. It comes from 22769. The monocle has been a hunt gift some time ago from Super possessed.
