A Clockwork Spiral - The Future Is Bright

Marie4972 was feeling rusty, albeit she knew there was no oxygen in outer space... no rust could therefore consume her delicate cogwheels and shiny surfaces. Yet, she was definitely feeling rusty. Maybe because she had been orbiting Earth, a robot ejected from a spaceship, in the past five hundred years, all alone...? But she had never ever given up hope. One day they would come for her, and take her back to the family she had been serving so faithfully. Yes, they would come. Marie4972 continued watching the magnificent, bright blue planet, and the lights were reflected in her equally bright, blue eyes.

Steam The Hunt IX - When Angels Fall

She had been the Guardian since... since Eternity had begun. She couldn't recall a moment when she was not watching, alert and dedicated. She had always been true and sincere. Yet, suddenly, she was ruthlessly scrapped. Why...? Maybe because a cogwheel or two needed replacing? Because she required more maintenance time than those shiny stainless steel automatons recently introduced by Management? So nothing but economy mattered now? What about human qualities, such as... loyalty and faith? Are the Machine Guards becoming... plain machines right now?

Luck o' the Irish Steampunks

It was the luck of the Irish, so some said. Others saw fate's manipulation in the slowly turning cogs and gears, those hidden behind the veil, beyond the mist. Each theory had it's acolytes, those who would spread the word, and the belief, along with the spoils to any they counted close enough to be worthy of the secret. The fluttering beat of the smallest moth's wings would send ripples around the world. Gold would shine from the depths, where only earth had lain before. Ghosts would ride these currents, alighting here and there, bringing fortune fair and foul. The bees would fly, their tiny furred bodies carrying with them the secrets of the dead to tempt the living with knowledge they could scarce afford to learn. As the black velvet and spirits began to flow, those caught up by the luck, or by the design came to their feet. Fortune would never find you sitting in one place, you had to go looking for it, had to chase the rainbow's end, follow the eternal workings of the great wheel.

Chasing The Kraken

Captain Kitty Shadowsail never felt so angry and impotent in her entire life. Her beloved clipper was stranded and seriously damaged, the cargo was floating around the wreck, the crew fled… they were cowards anyway, she thought while she wanted to skin them alive. 

Her family had dedicated themselves to hunting down the Kraken. She was never allowed to forget about this quest… and if she was to give up, a glance at her Grandad’s gold pocket watch was enough to rekindle the fire in her chest. Grandad was fabulous, he had told her so many lovely and frightening stories about the gigantic octopus he and his forefathers had been chasing around the globe. Yes, Captain Kitty was a true member of the Shadowsail clan, she had already lost an eye during a particularly vicious encounter with the Kraken… and now she lost her beloved ship. What a shame.

Yet… Captain Kitty suddenly felt weird. She heard a sound… a hated, yet way too familiar sound… the deep booming voice of the Kraken. It was singing, and it was singing for her, wanting her back, wanting her to continue the eternal chase. Captain Kitty listened, and she suddenly felt revived. Oh yes, she was to rebuild the clipper, she was to restart the hunt. She listened to the song of the Kraken, she grabbed her Grandad’s pocket watch with a defiant yet happy smile, and in her single feline eye there glowed a wild unextinguishable fire. 

„Steam the Hunt 6” is on, and many shops offer lovely gifts for the indefatigable hunter. I’m a great fan of the Victorian Steampunk style, so this hunt is a true prizes galore for me. Let me show you some of my favourites here… and if you want more, check out the hunt locations and hints here. The hunt will end on March 31st so you have some time to complete the challenge.

STEAM - the Hunt for tinies

Ephraim the the elephant was exhausted. And a bit annoyed. It was always the same with Elsbeth. She needed ages to dress up. Added there a cog wheel to her dress then some shiny stuff here and feather there. It was horrible. And when he finally had managed to sleep while standing she came around and yelled at him.

I love the tiny community and enjoy to visit it from time to time but im not a real tiny as i spend most of the time in human form and many tinies do not even have such a form. So its cool that the steampunk hunt even includes gifts for tinies. The hunt gift from tiny ruffles contains two gifts a suit for the tiny gentleman and a dress for the tiny lady. To wear them at the elephant avis from tiny inc i needed to stretch them a bit but i guess that most tinys are used to the fact that the bodys of the tiny avis are not exactly the same, as there are tinys which are a bit more slender than other tinys. Both outfits are of course steampunk themed. They both come with a hat which fits to the colour of the outfit. The dress for the lady has some ruffles and is a bit more playful than the formal suit for the gentleman. Both outfits are great for tinys and those who plan to spend some time as tiny.

STEAM - The hunt Preview #3

Omen Zero here, just I have just started to recieve the first trickle of items from STEAM - The Hunt, and I have to say it is an honor to be blogging them. Here you will find some posed couple photos of either myself or myself and dagmar from a photo session a little earlier this evening. Please note that the areas shown in these photos are the hunt gift D&M Steampunk Loft from Dagmars first preview

STEAM - the Hunt preview I

She was content, very content. It had cost her feet but this was a price she was more than willing to pay. Finally she had managed to let her house fly. And who would miss having feet if having a flying house? Instead of whimpering after the big explosion (she had tested some really intresting things) she spend the time she needed to heal on building a pair of boots which allowed her to walk as well as before. The technology she developed because of that helped her a lot to solve the problems with the house. Steam was the solution she never had supposed that.

The fourth round of STEAM - the Hunt is going to start at the 1st March. This time more than 180 Stores are going to take part. I d like to show some previews of the gifts. The upper picture has been taken in the gift from Morigi Steam . As seeable it is a skybox. The windows could be closed and opened as well as the curtain. The textures are elegant in my opinion. I like the silver leaves a lot.

D & M Dream Furniture also have a skybox as huntgift. As the Skybox from Morigi Steam many metal textures have been used. It is even possible to clean the windows. The bucket on the little table has such an animation inbuilt and the towel on the bucket gives when being touched a piece of cloth which could be attached at the hand. The skybox is 25 x 38 metres and partly furnitshed allready. There are some pictures and even a fire place.

The items from Alkahest are perfect to furnitsh the found skyboxes. That store has a wonderful lamp with gears, some picture frames made of gears and even a flower with a gear as hunt gift. The lamp is very lovely in my opinion. Not only the bulb on the top shines also the two gears at the side light the room.

Zoe's Garden made of course something for the garden. A fountain made of a big gear. The water makes sounds which is calming. The textures are in shades of dark red and brown just steampunkish.

When looking at the item from Arkigrafx i was more than confused. It is a very beautiful building but not very big. It looks very beautiful but i found no machine or something like that in the inside. So when reading the notecard to the item i had a good laugh when recognizing that i had been confused by a public toilet. The item is named Steampunk Vespasiano. It is an public toilet which really are named after Vespasian.

Of course the Hydraulic Boot are an hunt gift as well. I like the idea a lot. For my avatar i had to make them much smaller which was not very tricky. They could be worn with or without alpha layers. I liked them better without but maybe not everybody has no problem with having an avatar who has Hydraulic boots instead of feet. For those it works fine to wear the boots without the alphalayer. The legs are seeable between the rods. The kimono isn't a hunt gift. It comes from 22769. The monocle has been a hunt gift some time ago from Super possessed.

Brown corsets

Standing outside a bar after having performed some really bad cancan dancing. But the plan to get a lot of free bottles with that didn`t worked well. So thinking of what to do next to gain money and power. The brown dress was on the Steambound Midnight mania board (today there is an other great dress on the board but the board cycles so the dress will be on it again soon). It comes with a great corset, which also could be worn with jeans, and three kinds of skirts. The skirts and the corset have a lovely brown flower texture with some lace. There are also some more pieces put into the set like a prim bow for the back or some different belts.

Wandering at nemo

Wandering at the rails at nemo and hopeing that i ll be fast when the train comes. But at least wearing a good and comfy coat.I found out that the train was broken so i managed to get to the ocean without any problem.
The coat will be the gift from ezura in the steampunk hunt. Its a coat with a vest under it and a tie. The collar and the tails are sculpted. There will be soon a fitting hat for the ezura vips. It comes with a resize script which is great. I didn t suppose that a hat would have a resize script but this one has one and its useful.

Impatiently waiting

When recognizing that the steampunk hunt is going to start tomorrow i had a look at the list of the participating stores. So i went to Nachtmusik to have a look if their gift is allready out. The gear there was still empty but i won a nice brown dress on the lucky board.Dress: nM Ombre Blossom Dress (0 Linden lucky board)

Orquidea will have a great headdress in the steampunk hunt. Its a orange golden orchid with a safety pin. There are also some black pearls wrapped around the flower and the pin.

Steampunk heroine

The bluered steampunk heroine flying around to find somebody she could help.When landing she sees some birds and tells them how to fly. She directs them with her hands. But the birds somehow do not respect her authority and fly how they like.
So she decides to help humans and searches for a high spot. From there she shoots little fire balls at the cigarettes of pedestrian to keep them from smoking. When she sits alone at home she always wonders why she is so unpopular. But she hasn't found the reason for that yet.
The third steampunk hunt will start tomorrow. The hero outfit will be the gift from 22769. It comes with great red gloves and somehow reminds me on the covers of the thor comics. The belt comes with a resize script.

Flying over Caledon

As the steampunk hunt ends soon i want to write about one hunt gift i really like. The hot air balloon from Julia Collection.

It could be parked somewhere and has then about 30 or 40 Prims. But you also could just rezz it when you need it.

Its possible to sleep on the balloon.
And you also could go on a tour. Here we started in one of the Caledon Sims and got carried over them by the second life winds.
We even nearly hit a tower but we managed to let the balloon fly up so we didn t get hurt.

The balloon got a simply menu. You could decide if only you could use it or everybody. You only could let the ballon fly up and down. As in a real hot air balloon you can t change the direction yourself. Most surprising is simcrossing in the balloon. As it flys very slowly its more like "hm did we just cross a sim?"

Add on: I asked Suzie Sewell if its ok to use the balloon in Avilion and this was her answer: "Suzie Sewell: Dagmar - wonderful idea with balloon. It is definitely allowed. One of the reasons we expanded the charter in August was so that people could bring some interesting Victorian things into the land, so please feel free to use it :)"

KWZ Omega Point

If there is one shop which really impresses me is the Shop at Omega Point. This is my favourite Dress from there. It goes well with a Aquatic Dragon Familiar.

And as always i did wear DragansVarg *imrae* Boots flat. I think they have been around 450 Linden.

Xstreet freebies and more

Being bored at work i had a look at xstreet and found some nice freebies. Starting with a fae dress and a forest skybox.
