Fantasy Faire 2012 – A Splinter Of Amethyst

„Ugh!” – Splinter felt disgusted and itchy at the same time. A dress to wear… with wings! What an annoying situation! She was a Blue Steel Spook, after all. The traditional job of her kind was to stalk around in the pits and scare the hell out of those fools who wanted to find something valuable in the ancient mines. Those silly Gemstone Ghosts, on the other hand... Bleah, what a gang of softies! They flap around and whisper instructions to the scroungers, so they can find a rough diamond as big as a pigeon’s egg. A bunch of namby-pambies... who have captured her and forced her into becoming an Amethyst Ghost in order to redeem herself.

Someone knocked on the door of her cell and she heard a chirpy voice. “Hurry up, please! An adventurer has just arrived, he is dreaming of a really big piece of amethyst, so it’s your turn to guide him! No kicking and no pushing, and you’re not allowed to call him a ‘blind idiot’, either! Whispers and fluttering wings only, you hear me?” Splinter didn’t even deign her of an answer. “No kicking, huh?” – she thought. “Then just watch him fall over his own leg... on a huge piece of amethyst, all right, but he will crash and ouch. Big time ouch.” Splinter left to perform her duty, with fluttering wings... and a broad wicked grin on her blue steel lips.

Spyralle products by Kerryth Tarantal are based on a simple yet truly brilliant idea, one of those that make you smack your forehead and shout, “Why haven’t I ever thought of that?” Kerryth has imported fractals in SL, and she’s made a great job of it. It’s a pity Benoit Mandelbrot, the father of fractal geometry, has passed away in 2010... I’m quite certain he would have enjoyed these Spyralle creations quite much.

The fabulous “Rhapsody” gown is a RFL donation item at the Fantasy Faire that comes with a pair of small matching wings, yet I’ve decided to pair it with another donation item, the amazing “Rhapsody” fractal flappies... and if you really want to move in for the kill, wear the matching “Rhapsody” mask as well :).

I’ve shown you the “Beatrice” skin in soft pale Gold by De La Soul here, now it’s time for another tone, the greyish-blue Chrys. The tattoo pattern around the eyes is the same, yet the steely hue gives the skin a very different aura... brrrr, you feel a bit cold when you look at it.

Divine Blues

She used to be a member of the Sapphire Tribe, she remembered that very well. Many, many aeons before her world had been vivid, happy and busy… she could hear the voices of men and women and children every evening she climbed up on top of the Tower, in order to taste a bit of everyday life before she had to commence night service, as usual. She had been taken from her family in order to serve the Goddess at the tender age of a hundred and fifty years… oh yes, she still remembered the excruciating pain. Her mother and siblings had been inconsolable… or so she thought, as she hadn’t talked to them any more. Rubbing shoulders with „ordinary” folk wasn’t permitted to the Selected One. 

She was carefully educated by the Elders, and after five hundred years of apprenticeship she was allowed to raise the Moon all alone for the first time. She still got goosebumps at the memory of that very special night. Then… something went wrong. Slowly, yet without any doubt whatsoever. At first, she noticed that the evening buzz and humming and chattering of the city became weaker day by day. People just disappeared from the streets, the murmuring sounds seemed to grow dimmer, and dimmer yet. Then, one evening… all she could hear from the Tower was silence. 

She was shocked… but she remembered she had taken a solemn oath to serve the Goddess and raise the Moon each and every night, until Death decided to come for her. She was alone, her only company were the memories and the ghosts of the past, yet she climbed up on top of the Tower, and silently whispered an ancient prayer before she touched the chilly globe. „Raise, Moon, and spread your rays... I shall always be here to welcome you when your duty is done.”

It’s Not Easy, Bein’ Green

Fern O’Shaughnessy lived the quiet life of a wood pixie. From Spring to Autumn she took care of the mushrooms, the wild flowers, and – of course – the tufts of fern that were growing in her hidden cove among the green hills of Ireland. In Winter she curled up in a comfortable burrow and slept until the first ray of March sun tickled her nose. She was generally happy… yet something secretly gnawed on her soul. She knew there lived some creatures called „humans” not very far from her place… and a starling told her that „human” girls didn’t have green spots or mushrooms growing on their skins, and they wore „dresses” instead of fern blades. Then, one day, Fern O’Shaughnessy heard some noise from behind a bush.

 

The noise was made by a leprechaun… a funny green creature, like herself, thought Fern and chuckled. The leprechaun heard her and frowned: „Why are you giggling, you silly craythur? Do you think it’s easy, being green?” Then the leprechaun started chuckling, too. „No, you must know what it means… right, Fern? I know of your secret wish, by the way… and, as I’m in good mood today, I’m willing to grant you it…” – said he, and his chuckles slowly turned into a sinister cackle.

   

Poof! Gone were the mushrooms, the green spots, the skirt and blouse made of fern… and there stood a pretty Irish colleen, green-eyed and jet-haired, dressed up in a marvellous gown… with a silly green tophat firmly attached to her head. „So that you never ever forget that it’s not easy bein’ green!” – echoed the cackling voice of the leprechaun among those emerald Irish hills.

I'm having a Vero Modero day Oh this store has some lovely items. I must start by saying that in my first 2 pictures, I have split what is actually one outfit, so the trousers on the first pic come in the same package as the top & bolero in the second pic. Hair! you know I have a penchant for it, well this particular one is a luckyboard item , however the hairs in store are a steal at only 80L so get down there and grabs wigs folks!

OMG I love this outfit! detailing of the top is great and the colours I love too, there is a green one too which is an unusual shade..HAIR! 30L and is one of my favourites to date! oh but the shoes oh how I love shoes, and if you love them as much as I do then J's has got to be one of your top priorities, they are simply amazing. This pair is divine they just look so great n your feet , particularly with the little prim toes, a serious amount of detailing has gone into these, and I love the fact that I can remove the prims that go round the leg for another different style shoe. Oh better just mention too , that these gorgeous shorts come with a prim  red cuff, but i chose not to wear then on this occasion.

This hair I've been stalking for days on the luckyboard at kmh, and so I've roped in so many people to help me that just about everyone in SL must now have It  (thank you lovelies xx) but I knew I wanted It to go with this dress. I can't help but adore this dress look at the detail!! oh and the colour! oh which brings me onto the shoes! again. Now I know I've blogged these shoes so many times but I can't stress enough that they're going to be one of the best things you'll ever buy in SL, seriously they go with everything, with the colour change script with 112 options you're never going to be stuck with an outfit with no shoes to match, plus group members get a 50% discount every Friday so in effect you're getting 112 pairs of shoes for 75L ....crazy!

At my favourite Sim this evening there is a party to celebrate the birthday of Debelah Ballinger Happy Birthday Debelah! to celebrate this event there will be live entertainment with professional musician, AM Quar whose musical styles have a great range between, Latino, blues, ballroom &  Rock, so it should be a fun evening!

A fine romance? prt.2

Today  his mind wandered as he wondered whether she would come back. He noticed that she visited the restaurant every day that week, and he couldn't think why he was so curious about her, so as he entered the Bar he was strangely comforted to see her there.

"Hmmm she's alone again, yet rather dressed up" he pondered whether she might be meeting someone this evening, then Marthe  his waitress and family friend spoke to him and interrupted his thoughts as though she were reading his mind. The wise mature lady had noted his curiosity as subtle as it was "she is an artist and is keen to view the exhibition upstairs this evening, perhaps you may like to accompany her and introduce her to some of the locals? ....." said Marthe .... "me? why would I do such a thing?" he scoffed  and headed back to the kitchen muttering under his breath, as Marthe smiled to herself.

Finally culottes!! ok so with this whole outfit they're a little more like hareem pants, but they're culottes really they are! IZM has come good yet again, and not only by providing us culottes (yeah yeah the culotte thing was a personal challenge of mine) but they put them on the lucky board! eeeeeeeeeek! so they come complete with the belt and cute embroidered bag attached, also with the leggings with tie around the knee.I have a feeling these with be a firm favourite of mine for a long time.
