Twisted Reunion

At the furthest reaches of the winding gravel track lay the church. So far from the town it seemed impossible that it had ever been a regular place of worship for the number of people it could comfortably hold. Its grandeur and inexplicable presence made all the more remarkable by the constant shimmer of twilight which began on approach, darkening the closer any visitor came, regardless of the direction, or time of day.

Here in the dark, there would often be nothing to see, nothing to hear besides the soft scratchings of vermin, the gentle cries of the bats high above. At other times, strains of organ music drifted on the air, while candle flames set the stained glass in the windows glinting. The curtain of the confessional drawn back, the mouldering velvet covered wood of the seat within creaked as it took the weight of one a far cry from the priesthood. The book fell open with spine cracked familiarity, murmured words and the chill air filled with the blooming scent of roses. Tap, tap, tap, the impatient drumming of fingers waiting to be joined by the beat of another's heart.

Long cold candles combusted, illuminating the living and the dead. Their warmth carried the aroma of roses with the spark of flame, drifting over rosewood and all it contained. Old bones, life regained. Silk spun centuries earlier rustled as it began to move.

"Reunion... " A twisted prayer had brought them here, the concluding word at the end of countless experiments, trials and searches. Could it finally be true... Eyes which had long gazed only only the stars, the firmament of eternity took some time to resolve on the reality of shadow and stone. Could she see him now? Would she know him again?

Three cries from her birds etched in wood were all it took. Final forgiveness found in the the resumption of their eternal kiss. Their danse macabre would begin again, within the walls of their sanctuary, in their own private midnight.

Fantasy Faire - the last dance

Morning had broken, like the first morning. Though, this was the last morning, and the bird cawing over the alcove in which she had slept, while black, was distinctly corvid in nature. Mist thickly carpeted the tunnel system snaking its way through the landscape, as she stretched and yawned, it was through these tunnels she would fly.

Each of the Fairelands had a charm all of its own. There were hours when the brightness and pretty colours called, windmills and bunting turning cheerfully. Others, she needed the hustle an bustle of the sun drenched marketplace, the blown sand scouring everything clean. Mostly though, she was drawn to the twilight and the darkness, as only in these places could the lights be seen to shine. It was here the lights of remembrance could be found, one by one in niches or on branches, in groups, crowding shelves and alcoves, creating all the heat they needed to rise into the air and dance. It was here you would find her, on this, the last day of the Faire.

Soon the mists would rise higher, all the wonderful worlds drawn into being by the Faire would be engulfed, drifting apart for another year. Endings, always horribly sad, were not permanent. Anything learned, or gained would remain, carried within until the calendar brought everyone together again. There was not long left now, she would rather rejoice in what had been achieved than let herself sink into sorry. She would like to take you with her, to stay as long as possible in the world they had created, to stay happy, and revel in the beauty that could be found. She's waiting, all you have to do is reach out, and take her hand.

Wildehaven Marsh to Tangleshimmer Grove

The marshlands had been a good place to grow. Few others from the outside world may have seen Wildehaven Marsh as the adventure playground it had always appeared to the eyes of those fortunate enough to dwell there. In the darkest dankest reaches of the mire, where creatures slithered, crept and crawled, they learned the iridescent and beautiful could be found. In the toads eye were held all the colours of the earth, the snakes scale, all the colours of the sky. Here she had grown, running through silt, tripping over tree roots; until she could climb moss strewn branches, and finally, her wings unfurling, take flight.

Now she had grown, had spread her wing and flown, it was time to leave the marsh. There was a whole word to explore, skills and abilities to develop, always always so much to learn. In the marsh, she had been as cygnet to swan, by necessity her form and choice of vestment most fitted the miasma. Out in the grove, her plumage had changed. Wings hidden, little need here to fly through the trees when such easy paths and waterways beckoned. In the sunlight, her colours shone. Tangleshimmer, this place was called; within it she found new beauty, a new life, and hope.

Hunger

The sound she made when she moved was slight but he could nearly feel her boredom and even more her hunger. But they had just arrived in the town and now they would need to wait until the furniture they had ordered would be brought into their house. The house was new as well. When it would be fully furnished there would be nothing in it which had ever been used by a human. It was difficult enough to have to deal with items which had been build by them. But with the time the marks left by humans would fade and the house would feel like it should and not give them the feeling of being surrounded by food. If they would have known what it means to be human they would have described the feeling like starving while being surrounded by the smell of wonderful food without being able to see or even eat it. Not that it was about smell. They were not vampires.
Still they lusted for humans. But now they had to wait he was not willing to leave the house before it was not completed. Which meant he would need to distract her but there was no reason why demons should not have fun as well.


The whole female outfit is built around a collar 22769 is selling in a gatcha at an event called L'accessories. It is a unrigged mesh item which can be addjusted and used as a eyecatcher. To balance the outfit it is needed to keep the rest of it rather calm, for example by just using a reduced amount of colours. The corset from Ison is very well made and the skirt from hucci is short enough to make sure that the boots, which hucci is selling at collabor 88, are seen as boots not as some kind of leggins. The Mia hair from Wasabi Pills creates a very dramatic look. It is made of rigged mesh. On both avatars horns from Cerridwen's Cauldron are used. They are available in a gatcha at their store. It is possible to choose the colour of the horn as well as the colour of the glow. Here both are white. The horns are made of unrigged mesh and it is possible to edit them to make them fit. On him the hair also comes from Wasabi Pills. It is the Teeloh hair which is inspired by the German singer Tilo Wolf. The hair is also available for females. To have a more interesting look at the shaved part a tattoo layer from Jomo has been added. They have several with different patterns. The eyes are mesh eyes from A:S:S Vision called Naga which look like reptile eyes and are great for roleplay. The skin comes from Nivaro. At the same store there are also additional tattoo layers with beards sold. The clothes are being sold at the mens dept and come from epia. The suit is made of rigged mesh and comes in one piece. There are three sizes included. The shoes are not rigged and have a resize script.
The big picture in the background is made by Spyralle and sold at Futurewave, an event which will end tomorrow. The Voronoi House from 22769's Furniture/House line Bauwerk can also be bought at future wave or directly on their sim. It is a low landimpact mesh house with beautifuly detailed windows and asymetrical windows. The stonegarden on the terrace is a pretty and unique add-on. The Beanbags are being sold by Apple Fall on the Collabor88 event. They include several poses. The kitchen which is seeable on the side on some pictures comes from Kuso.
The used poses come from Captivity Co., Ma Vie and Purple poses. Especially the suitcase poses are great for travel or moving themed pictures.

Fantasy Faire 2012 – A Splinter Of Amethyst

„Ugh!” – Splinter felt disgusted and itchy at the same time. A dress to wear… with wings! What an annoying situation! She was a Blue Steel Spook, after all. The traditional job of her kind was to stalk around in the pits and scare the hell out of those fools who wanted to find something valuable in the ancient mines. Those silly Gemstone Ghosts, on the other hand... Bleah, what a gang of softies! They flap around and whisper instructions to the scroungers, so they can find a rough diamond as big as a pigeon’s egg. A bunch of namby-pambies... who have captured her and forced her into becoming an Amethyst Ghost in order to redeem herself.

Someone knocked on the door of her cell and she heard a chirpy voice. “Hurry up, please! An adventurer has just arrived, he is dreaming of a really big piece of amethyst, so it’s your turn to guide him! No kicking and no pushing, and you’re not allowed to call him a ‘blind idiot’, either! Whispers and fluttering wings only, you hear me?” Splinter didn’t even deign her of an answer. “No kicking, huh?” – she thought. “Then just watch him fall over his own leg... on a huge piece of amethyst, all right, but he will crash and ouch. Big time ouch.” Splinter left to perform her duty, with fluttering wings... and a broad wicked grin on her blue steel lips.

Spyralle products by Kerryth Tarantal are based on a simple yet truly brilliant idea, one of those that make you smack your forehead and shout, “Why haven’t I ever thought of that?” Kerryth has imported fractals in SL, and she’s made a great job of it. It’s a pity Benoit Mandelbrot, the father of fractal geometry, has passed away in 2010... I’m quite certain he would have enjoyed these Spyralle creations quite much.

The fabulous “Rhapsody” gown is a RFL donation item at the Fantasy Faire that comes with a pair of small matching wings, yet I’ve decided to pair it with another donation item, the amazing “Rhapsody” fractal flappies... and if you really want to move in for the kill, wear the matching “Rhapsody” mask as well :).

I’ve shown you the “Beatrice” skin in soft pale Gold by De La Soul here, now it’s time for another tone, the greyish-blue Chrys. The tattoo pattern around the eyes is the same, yet the steely hue gives the skin a very different aura... brrrr, you feel a bit cold when you look at it.

Aurora borealis

Oreithyia was waiting for the wind. Wandering barefoot through the mountains she hoped that he would come, Boreas. He had whispered so often to her through the rocks in the vale. And he had managed to gain her attention. In the nights she dreamed of being with him flying together over the mountains of her homelands. The more Oreithyia yearned to be with the northwind the more she changed. Her hair became nearly white and her skin was paler every day. Once her eyes had been brown now they reminded on the Aurora borealis. But this was the night she finally would meet him.

Those amazing dresses come all from Spyralle Fractal Art to Wear. I like fractals a lot but I never manage to understand the mathmatics behind them. Paco from 22769 often tried to explain it to me and I understand it when he explains it to me but after an hour I do not know how they were made anymore. So this dresses are not only pretty the designer who made them is also pretty smart. She also uses fractals to create wings.
The dress on the first picture is called Chione Goddess of Snows. It is white with a white sheer primskirt, included is also a primskirt with extra snowflakes. On the back the dress has white sheer shoulder streamers. The corset which is available to the dress is amazing. When seeing it I supposed it would be made of prims but it is only on the systemlayer. The shades of iceblue and green are great.
The purple gown is called Gossamer Passion, it has a purple sheer primskirt. The wings have a texture which reminds on feathers but they are also of course made with fractals.

The Glory fractal wings remind on snail shells. The used colours fit well to the relay for life colours. The dress is called Eos Goddess of Dawn. It has a similar top as the Chione dress. The primskirt gradients from white to purple. On the back the dress comes also with streamers, but different to the Chione dress it comes also with streamers for the arms.
