Mainlining - The Bank Manager

Vyl “Speaking of… have You donated lately Xen?”
Xen tilted his head to the side a little. “No…I havent"
Vyl tsked softly “That needs remedied”
Xen took a step back “Well when someone tells me what it is used for... I will consider it"
Vyl smiled “It’s used like all the other blood we take in there.. for transfusions in the med centres across the city.”
Xen nods "and you have no fear of the blood being used for less good causes?" he eyed her closely, remembering his blood being forcibly taken and used in some potions
Vyl’s smile turned into a grin. “I have no fear of most things.. and absolutely none where it comes to the bank.”she paused, “C'mon then Xen.. even if I don’t get yer shirt off ya'll at least have to roll yer sleeve up.”
Xen laughed "Well Vyl you know what that would take." Chuckling he followed her into the bank, removing his coat once inside.
Vyl whistled "The stripper"
Xen dangled his coat before twirling it, then tossing it across to Vyl
Vyl sidestepped it as she went to the counter, laughing as she collected another donor kit "Im not a coat rack.. and yer gonna need to roll up that sleeve.."
Xen smiled “And there I thought it was all inclusive” he pulled off his gloves before rolling up his sleeve
Vyl ripped open the kit, checking the contents briefly. Bending she hung the IV bag on the lowest hook of the stand, connecting the tubing as she spoke.. "So... nice as possible? Or do ya want to see how far away I can be and still hit the vein with the needle?" Xen eyed her a little warily "Just do as you normally would, I have no preference.”
Vyl chuckled softly, connecting the needle to the end of the tubing. "Very well, gimme yer arm then." Xen raised his arm, stretching it a little, looking down to watch Vyl take it in her grasp
Vyl traced the cold tip of her forefinger across the skin at the crook of Xen’s elbow, her blood calling to his, starting with a tingling sensation, she called it to rise to the surface, the red cells flowing within pushing higher, as if trying to meet her touch. "Dont expect this from any other phlebotomist here.. anyone else doesn’t follow protocol and I’ll flay them.."
Xen nodded, “I meant to ask you last night about lycans, do they always leave one in each of their areas? You know when they go walkies…”
Vyl shook her head "Not at all times.. depends who’s around when.. and wanting to do what where.." she bent her head to his arm, lips parting she licked over the skin covering the now raised vein, setting it tingling with numbness before she tilted her head, piercing the vessel with a single fang. Withdrawing she slid the needle into the puncture, securing it in place with tape from the pack.
Xen opened and closed his fist, watching Vyl trace her fingers along a vein, relaxing back into the chair aware of the needle but more interested in the procedure.
Vyl straightend slowly, running her tongue across the bloodied fang. "Feel alright?"
Xen looked at the needle, eyes following the tube running to the collector "Feels fine, thanks"
Vyl pulled the papers from the pack.. "Time for the questionnaire…Race?"
Xen grinned “Now? I'm a little busy you know and would probably beat you"
Vyl smiled sweetly and reached out, flicking the IV line, checking it was flowing properly, but also making the needle jump a bit in Xen’s arm..
Xen winced "Vampire"
Vyl chuckled again “Good good.. all reasonable so far.. now, do ya know yer bloodtype?"
Xen curls his fingers a little as the needle jumps "No, I usually take it, not give it." Vyl nodded.. "You know how to test? I’ll be testing this… but for future reference?"
Xen tilted his head to one side "Yes?"
Vyl mimicked the motion “Yes? That a question or a confirmation? Xen shrugged “A question. "
Vyl nodded “Ah… I’ll walk you through it sometime then...” she tapped the form with her pen “Any known ailments or diseases?
Xen looks at his healing hands " only to Arch Angels" he muttered.. “but none other than that which I know of"
Vyl nodded "Burns clearing up alright?"
Xen sighed “Yeah the comfrey paste has helped. I may be able to stop wearing the gloves soon."
Vyl eyed the filling bloodbag.. "Arm feelin' alright still?"
Xen flexed his fingers again “A little tingling but so far so good "
Vyl chuckled softly "Well good.. wouldn’t want people think I damage donors.."
Xen laughed “As if you would" he shook his head “You know down lost beach two nights ago there were about 12 of the lycans, recognised a couple of them."
Vyl thought back.. "Wedding.."
Xen smirked “I wondered why they were all dressed up, that would explain it
Vyl grinned "Can happen, even with them" bending her head to his arm again she placed her tongue flat over the needle, peeling away the securing tape and easing the needle free of the flesh. Slowly licking over the puncture, she healed it without leaving a mark.
Xen smiled and raised his arm, turning it slightly to look at the healed wound, nodding with pleased approval. "You do a good job of that…"
Vyl grinned as she straightened, snapping the valve on the IV and lifting the bag from the low hook. "Well practiced..."

Donation RP - Timeless for Vyl, the Bloodbank Manager. She can make it easy, or hard, depending entirely on your tastes, and the amusement it might bring her. In a city that rarely gets through an hour, never mind a night without spilling blood, the only means for the wounded to be 'topped up' is the Bank. She takes it seriously... that said, she might have managed to find some mouldy cookies for the donors, but more than likely, some fresh meat. Just don't look to close at the tattoo on the skin...

On Converse Row...

Scarlet had worked on Converse Row for years now. More than a stones throw from the worst end of town, but several tram stops from any bourgeois security. The tangle of narrow streets and lanes followed the same shambles pattern of centuries earlier, under the cracked tarmac and concrete lay cobbles worn by the ages. The Row held many businesses, mostly law abiding - except for high days and holidays...

She walked to work, red heels glinting in whichever light found them, twilight, streetlight or the dawn. Of course she wasn't for sale, no regular to the street, or visitor who would be welcomed back would allow that thought to cross their mind. Dealers and donut munching cops watched over the Row, sentient gargoyles, she had never felt safer. All eyes were on her.

On Converse Row, skin was business. Sold on the street and in the stores, Scarlet catered to them all. She could illuminate any form, deep shadows and beautiful highlights, the ink in her needles brought beauty to the blank canvas of the body. If you can pay, you could walk away as your own work of art.

Music to their ears - The Candy Fair 2014

The train had rattled and rolled through the countryside all night. Sleep had been the last thing on her mind as she stole aboard in the orange stained twilight of the city's railway depot. The click-clacking of wheels on rails had formed a pleasant beat in her mind, lulling her into sleep, resting back on her guitar case. As morning had dawned, pale fingers of light stealing through the crack in the door, she had awoken. Pushing the truck door open wide as the train slowly rounded a bend into some small town, she blinked, rubbing her eyes. It didn't help. Something was very wrong. Except for herself, the world and everything in it as far as she could see, was grey.

So far as she could tell, the town was deserted. No workers busied themselves at the station as the train did not halt, merely slowed, the driver apparently as troubled by the place as she, though lacking her curiousity. Sparks flew as wheels spun in place on the tracks, such was the haste with which the train was asked to depart. Jumping down, Lya watched the train pull away into the grey haze of distance. Turning to the town, still she saw no one, streets were empty, but the stores were open, groceries on the shelves still fresh, though as grey as their surroundings. After some time exploring she sank to the ground outside one store, leaning back against a towering grey telegraph pole to rest. Unclipping the latches on her guitar case, she lifted the unusual instrument from its niche and began to play. The soft notes strummed from the strings reverberated in the still street, tendrils of sound wove from the instrument, their vibrations shaking colour from the air. As the song came to an end, sounds from buildings nearby met her ears, the creak of a swing in the playground across the street... She opened her eyes. The grey shadows, so perfectly blended with their surroundings that she had missed them entirely, regained their form, colour and voices. Clambering over a nearby taxi she scrambled up onto the roof of the market to take in a view of the town, restored to life and colour through music.

Prepare yourself for a sugar overload! The Candy Fair 2014 has arrived - running from October 3rd to October 17th over two sims. Each sim is packed full with amazing stores, offering delightful items in a candy theme, from the lightest sweetest sherbet to the darkest smokiest bonfire toffee. Forest awakening

Deep in her heart was the forest. In the heart of the forest she dwelt. Pines and sentinals formed a near impenetrable barrier around the border; stray trees grew here and there, camouflage in the wilderness. Through the labyrinth of  thickets and thorns, near the centre of the forest, the trees grew less dense. Needles gave way to broad leaves, boughs and branches spread under sun and moon. The clearing ringed a tarn, neither deep nor broad enough to be called a lake, but it brought life to the whole wood, and to her. Each season she woke, covered in fallen leaves or encased in ice. The creatures of the forest scuttled over her skin rousing her from slumber. Water dripped from her hair as her bare feet curled into the leaf litter and loam. Sun and moon beams dappled her skin as she moved slowly around the clearing, her touch caressing bark and fur as she came back to life. Flames flickered, kindling into being on her horns, lighting up the night. Fully awakened, fully alive the forest around her bloomed or withered as was its season. In the clearing she held her court. The throne's eyes were open, the time for judgement was at hand. All the business of the forest must be conducted before the moon waned, and her candles guttered. So little time each season to take in all the beauty her energy created. The woods were so beautiful. She would take the time to enjoy them.

Hotrod

The revving of an engine, and the squeal of tyres on tarmac would always split the night...

Hotrod shone in the darkness. Not just from headlights burning in the night, bathing her in a glow as they swept roadways and buildings, but from the flames licking her curves, part of her being. She was older than she would ever look, meticulously maintained, a classic beauty, still more than capable of setting pulses racing. When she emerged into the world, she had first proven her worth to those who knew her, running the gauntlet of lawmen, carrying precious lillicit whiskey across the border. Speed and agility were her hallmarks, while some of her fellows had been caught, locked up and away, this had never been her fate. Over time, laws, and the world around her had changed, but her popularity only grew. Still lauded for her past triumphs, her beauty was now revered. Racing along highways, and in her work at the garage, people would stare, open-mouthed. Their admiration and care kept her going, in a world of boxy sameness, of safety and computerised sensors, she was real, was raw and dangerous. Forever a challenge to life and limb, in leather, chrome and flames.

 More years ago than I really care to think about (back in 2007) a very good friend of mine had made some tatts, these are they. On one occasion only, she showed them off on a blue skin. She looked like a bad ass hotrod, possibly not what she was going for, but the idea has been lodged in my mind ever since. In a revamp of her store, she is re-releasing some of her classic designs, so I had to try an recreate the look to share with you all here. While the flames look good on all skintones, for me, it will always be the dreamcar, my flaming blue hotrod.

I utterly fell in love with this skin while I was searching for one that would do for these pictures. Trawling marketplace and browsing my usual favourite stores had nothing that would do, and then I found Rue. I dont know when Id wear the skin again, but I couldn't not buy it after trying the demo. L$600 seemed steep for a skin I'd use in one blog post, which many people can attest to, as I was whinging for hours about struggling to find a reasonably priced alternative, but on opening the box - I was amazed. Not one skin as I'd thought, but 19 versions, a SHAPE, and three make-up options. From expense to complete bargain in one box opening!

Another night in the graveyard

It was a beautiful night, the mists swirling through the long grass, catching in eddies like smoke around the rough edges of hewn stone, marked with the names of the dead. Few people came here these days, after the graveyard had been filled, and the church had fallen into disrepair. All who could remember the dead here were now quietly rotting away on their own, or drifting through the air as motes of ash. An occasional gang of some sort or other would scale the wrought iron fence from time to time, seeking a thrill, or a place to lay low. The odd ghoul, or other creature of the night would appear, but they never troubled Salome, in her playful moods, she was more likely to trouble them...

There weren't so many neko around the area, Salome knew, but didn't care. She preferred it that way, finding the cookie craving, constant desire for someone to scritch an ear, subservient pet-like existence chosen by many of her kind utterly deplorable. Certainly she counted several humans among her friends, had shared her time and body with those who sparked her interest and lust, but a pet? Never! She dragged the tips of her claws along the well worn lines in the stone of the crypt she made her home, honing their edges, keeping them razor sharp. She was a hunter, through and through. What would she choose to hunt tonight?

Remember who you are

Styx was her name, not that it showed it on the 'Crazy' nametag she wore, not that she would openly tell anyone, such sharing was far too dangerous in her world. It had not always been this way, before the skies fell, and the morality of the world along with it. She had had another name, another life. Like so many others, all she had been, and all she had known had been taken away. The lies of the politicians continued, showing clearer and clearer through the gloss and spin of their marketing departments. As that came to an end, as the banks crumbled under the weight of hedgefunds and toxic debt, when the lies of public protection became martial law for the 'good' of the people, that was when things had changed forever.

Now her name was whispered in alleyways, away from the boulevards disintegrating under the weight of passing tanks and army boots. She would venture there when necessary, she was a person who could get you what you needed, for a reasonable exchange. Her name was her weapon, her weapon her name. Wanted posters bearing a blurred security camera image of her plastered the streets. She roamed them anyway, always on the lookout for something that could be useful. Through it all, the violence and the terror, she, and those like her remained true. The humanity of the good in the time before, refusing to submit to the distopian present.

I'd created this lil set up around the Diesel Works Bat [Female] It was a gift at the store, and it's definitely not all that long since I picked it up, now, I can't seem to find it - but again that could just be me. It's worth a look, has 6 poses, and versions for male and female avs.

Summer Lovin'... Depraved Style

Flique loved the summer. No more short days. No more long nights, shivering, nothing to do and nowhere to go in the chill of winter. The sun was out, the music was playing, Madonna's "Material Girl" and "True Blue" making the air quiver. The city's toes were all tapping, it was time to hit the streets. As she slipped on her retro cameo ring, and punk spiked cuff, she checked out her reflection in the mirror and posed. The perfect mix of sweetness and edge.

She heard the valves  being loosened on water hydrants, spraying cool water through the air, laughing voices, squealing with excitement added to the beat. Checking the blade in the strap on her thigh, Flique pulled on her high-tops and ran outside. Dancing along the road, she squeaked as a spray of water was sent her way by those playing in the sun, holding her blazer up high out of the way, she winked at them, turned to head off, all ready for the evening parties, she had to look good!

The day after dawned as bright and sunny as the one before... Flique's head hurt. The music and the pink champagne had carried her through the night, and back home, glimpses and flashes of memory, of the girls and the boys, all that sultry heat. Only one cure for this, she had to head to the beach. Slipping in to her cut off jean shorts, folding the turn-ups just so, she pulled the new top from her crammed wardrobe, its summer florals on black matching her mood, sunny, with darkness below. Throwing all she would need into her favourite bag, and slinging that over her shoulder, she took off for the beach. The salt air, and the sensation of warm sand between her toes made her feel alive. Soft strains of music wafted over the dunes, weaving between the palm trees, her favourite song. Time to go find who was playing it, and see if they had any sun lotion to share...

The Depraved Summer Love Hunt is on! To me, a lot of the items had a distinct 80's feel to them, which led to all the Madonna... These are some of my favourite items from the stores. This is a really nice skin, looks very youthful, it has built in tan lines, as though from a skimpy bikini. It also has the word 'love' pale on one cheek, as you can just about see in the first image.

Beautiful large iris in these eyes, tonally, they work well with this skin.

Very pale flowers cover the dress, and the skirt flares out nicely, many layers of 'net' so moves fluidly. I had a script stack error on wearing it - but deleting the resizer script fixed that.

Eloise had been out riding all day, through the fields and down the rutted tracks, her blue bike could handle the terrain. it had been a long, hot day, and she had enjoyed the time with her friends in the countryside. Stopping by the river, upstream, well before the pollution of the town hit, they had waded in the cool green water under the shade of the trees. Spreading out the blanket they had shared a picnic amongst the flowers that bloomed wild in the meadow, a playful reminder of childhood days gone by, the plastic cups of sparkling wine a cheerful nod to their adult state. As the sun passed through the sky, and started its descent it was time to head back to town, after all, she had a date. Emerging from her rented rooms, showered and fresh, still smelling of sun and daisies she was dressed to meet Jacques, brushing some tangled grass from the gears, she was ready.

  They had meet one hot day, a few weeks before, when Eloise had stumbled with some friends into the quiet cafe, their loud laughter and chatter fading in the sombre atmosphere. The cafe was, after all, a refuge for the great and the good of the town from the heat of offices and courtrooms. Retreating to one of the tables outside, shaded by the large parasols, yet with no protection from the noise and bustle of the street, the tables were less popular, and much more suitable. Jacques had noticed her straight away, not the loudest, or the most confident ordering, her sweet smile and clear laugh captured his heart. Risking the ire of the strict manager, as he cleared their table, he slipped a scrap of paper on which he had written his number into her hand along with the receipt. That same evening, they met and rode out for the first time. Now each evening, they kept this rendez-vous. Of course, they didn't just ride. The bike was quiet, and could get past the guards in the factory district. Away from the streets and cafes, often busy long into the summer nights, they headed where they wanted. Following the music from illicit parties, or just the flight of a bird, they were free of care and concerns. Stopping often, not tied by the roads, they shared kisses and promises, and would remain forever, even if only that summer, Jacques & Eloise.

be U-Neek at the Fantasy Faire

Thora relaxed, shifting her weight onto one hip as she soaked up the last rays of the desert sunset. She had worked long and hard, and deserved this little break. Her work was a thankless task, thankless depending on how you looked at it. From the perspective of most of the big people, her work was unnecessary, dangerous even. To most of the insects and small creatures, she was a villain, someone out to make their frantic lives harder. To the plants, she was a saviour, and she did her work well.

Thora's job you see, was to place the thorns on the stems of plants, the spines on pads of cacti. She did this all day, and worked long into the night, protecting the new shoots and leaves that worked their way up through the dry dusty earth of the deserts. Running her hands over form, her palms would prickle with new shards, little daggers she would press into the green limbs of the plants, providing them with their armour. Longer, twisting hair she plucked from her head, weaving it into some cacti to give the fluffy looking, yet dangerously tipped coating. The big people, the 'Walkers' would curse her, their skin snagged and bleeding from her work, the creatures would do likewise, as she made it more difficult for them to reach their goals. But all day, and all night, the plants would sing her praises, blooming into flower with more safety, the wafts of their scent hailing Thora, the keeper of desert roses.

It's the last day of the Fantasy Faire, and I'm late with this post -I blame work - but the items are well worth seeking out in the hours you have left!
