She adored her new, fresh outfit. Green was her favourite colour, and she wore it whenever she could. For certain weeks of the year she donned red and gold, now and then she had white on, for a few days she was even clad in pink…. but nothing was like the silky, soft, bright green. She felt alive, blooming and splendid when she could wear her emerald dress.
It was May and the last light pink flowers just dropped off the branches of the old peach tree in the garden. The fresh, tender green leaves were still growing but they already foretold a glorious summer. The tree softly rustled as if it wanted to dance in the sunshine. Spring has finally arrived.
I seldom write about Gorean fashion (as in many aspects the so-called philosophy of Gor openly clashes with some of my fundamental principles in any life whatsoever), and I never participate at an event about modern clothes (please convince me about the importance of buying a pair of SL jeans when I can do that any time IRL...). Said that, I must admit I was smitten by the amazing silks and jewellery set that I found in the Event Hollywood Swag Bag offered by Kastle Rock. The topknot and the eyes are also an Event Hollywood gift, and you still have the chance to get them before this weekend is over. I picked up the skin in an Easter egg hunt that will be on for the whole month of April. There are 120 (!!) eggs waiting for you at Dark Romance until May 1st, and if you’re not into freebies... well, the place itself is worth a visit. :)

Relay and Fashion for Life in 2013 is a massive event, with some of SL's best designers putting what are often exclusive objects, items and outfits up for sale to raise money for the American Cancer Society. You can find the Fashion for life SIM here.
I do have to say that I'm concerned that the organisers may not be making the most of the event. Following the link on the SL login screen, or by searching for the event, you get to the SIM above (often under the floor). Here, you can find the gatchas - where you randomly get one of several different versions of an item by paying a low low price. This is of course, great - but this is all that many visiting the event seem to find.
I was walking around for ages, buying from the gatchas, and searching for the stores. Many MANY others (so it wasn't just me not knowing where to go) were doing the same, confusion about the lack of stores was leading to annoyance.
To make things clear - the seven SIMS around the main Fashion for Life SIM, named and styled after the seven wonders of the ancient world are where you find the stores. I tp'd to one as a last gasp hope before giving up and leaving.
THERE THE STORES WERE! I started imming those who had been similarly frustrated in the main SIM - and sadly many were too annoyed at the time they had spent there already to want to go shopping. This is potentially a massive loss of revenue, so if you go, PLEASE let those around you know!
I've not even made it to all of the SIMs yet - I will be back, most likely with enough new stuff for another post.
Relay for Life 2013 is on now! Here in RL, Cancer Research UK has just begun a new style of ad campaign to raise money for the cause. Very different to earlier campaigns, focusing on the sadness, and hope that go hand in hand with a cancer diagnosis, this is all about fighting back. It's positive, it's inspiring, it's time. Go shopping, spend all you can, get fantastic stuff while donating to the most worthwhile cause of all. Life.

Somehow a giant clover grow in my garden. So i asked some friends to visit me. Although it was a strange clover because even the goats who seem to become more and more every day did not want to eat it. We climbed onto the shamrock and Zorah pretended to balance but she had some mean plans ... ouch.
This shamrock is big enough for five people. It is well made as everything from Just a Pose and fits well into the garden or on a st patricks day party. The poses are animated so it looked like Zorah was planing to kick me. I enjoyed it to spend sometime with Dehrynn and Zorah in the garden.

Yesterday finally Fashion for Life opened. It is a Fashion Fair on which more than 100 Designers work together to help the American Cancer Society. The designers create items for the event which are sold in special vendors. The Lindens which are gained through those sales go directly to the American Cancer Society. In the last years this event was called RFL Clothing Fair but as some things changed they also changed the name of the event. They put the reasons for the rebranding onto their site.
This are some of the items from Fab Pony. They made a very sparkly dress with a mix of pinks and black. The patterns are big and i like the idea of making the sleeves not symetric. On their blog they say they make fashion for girls who want to get recognized and this definitly will happen when wearing this dress. The top with the highrise trousers are an other donation item from fab pony. The trousers have really big flares. The hair used with them is a donation item from amacci. It has been created specially for fashion for life. It is black and has blonde tips. The hairbands have a colourhud so you could decide which colour they should have.
The shirt is in the fashion for life hunt. It has some parrots on it. The sleeves are sculpted and look a bit like they moved up without that the person who wears the shirt planed it. The trousers in a very neonlike green and a light grey are also donation items.

Black is this week's dominant *coughs* colour in the '52 Weeks Of Color' challenge, and the massive amounts of this shade in my inventory made it kinda hard to decide. Then I saw Luna's beautiful pic with the harness I'd planned on wearing and needed to change my plans a little not to look like a copycat, but I have to confess that I like this outfit even more than the one I originally had in mind. Many thanks go out to Disembodied Hand, owner of :Defectiva:, who created the most stunning pair of breeches I've been hunting for ever since I joined SL years ago, and to Kyoot for their truely awesome customer service. One of my current pet peeves with clothing in SL is the mini-skirt with the prim panel sandwiched between the legs. But this LeLutka mini-skirt is nicely sculpted so it doesn't look like it's hanging from between your tush. Here I teamed it up with with everyone's favorite - A&M's "Hole" swimsuit/top (layered). The red Lelutka skirt is a group gift for Avenue Magazine Readers.

Truth be told I'm not all to keen on Amacci hair but when I hear the word hair and sale in one sentence I have to come a running so I paddled on to Amacci and had a peek around, tried on all the demos (minus the guys hair but there IS male hair in the sale)

I was only keen on the up-dos but there are long, mid length, short, pony tails and many others so do go have a look and see what takes your fancy!
