Love Ulaa - Please Help

"Love Ulaa is a fundraising event which aims to raise at least $200 towards sending Ulaa Coronet to visit her terminally ill mother. She has raised half of her target herself through gofundme. Now it's time for the SL community to step in and lend a loving hand to one of our own."

This morning I've received a group notice from Evangeline Miles of Evie's Closet, in which she speaks of her RL friend in the gentlest terms, and she applies for our help. I don't know Ulaa but I know what it means to be in her situation. Many years ago I had to take a plane literally in hours, hoping to be able to see my father still alive in another country. Luckily, I had the money to pay my fare. Ulaa is not this fortunate. The event is open until 18 August, so you have a few days to visit. Please go and spend your Linden Dollars in the best way possible.

And this had been reason enough for him to stand there now, veiled by the autumnal morning's thick fog billowing out of the forest's depth as if it was a freshly dug grave, his red-glowing hues focused on the lines of the heathen enemy trying to make their way through the river Arges. Yes, he would fight... for a free Wallachia and the eternal salvation of his soul.

I'm always looking out for outfits that tickle my nocturnal taste and are, due to their versatility, not only wearable for roleplay, but also a win when it comes to mixing and matching them with other pieces of my wardrobe. Bare Rose is usually a true treasure chest when it comes to that, and so I had to pick up the 'Spellbound of Darkness-set to immediately add it to my collection. It's a complete outfit that even comes with a pair of shoes, and the sculpted- and prim-parts are easy to fit even on slender avatars. As shown in the picture, the feathered collar has a variety of 5 colours to pick from: black, purple, red, blue and pink (not shown). All in all, a stunning piece of work that is low-price and also transferable, so you can gift it to your friends!

[rockin' the coffin]

Leather, studs, bones and feathers - your blogging cold one is indeed in a rocking mood today... even though he's crawled out of his coffin only 30 minutes ago. But then again, I couldn't figure a better start into the day than rock and vertebrae, so here's the look!



Leather first! Those smexy, tightly fitted pants are from Miamai, and I particularly adore the flared legs and the well-made side lacing - just the right things to make it a beloved piece of your wardrobe and give it a sturdy feel and look. Perfect footwear matches were the 'New Rock'-boots from Little Britain Designs, sculpted goodness in the shape of the RL-brand I own as well, with shiny textures and a look that screamed "BUY ME!" when I spotted them in store. And of course I did!

The 'Vampire Coat' from Amerie has been around for a little longer, but it's still one of my favourite pieces. The combination of elegant pinstripe fabric and chains is simply gorgeous, and I love the decadent looking sleeves and collar made from black and peacock feathers. The coat's prim-parts are resize scripted, and you can also choose to wear the collar without the small chains and cross dangling from it - just in case you don't get along well with crosses.

I guess the body is actually my fav in this post: not only because of the stunning eyes from Poetic Colors, which are brand new and still on a 50% off sale through Sunday, June 12th, but also because of the rather extraordinary hair from Miamai that immediately tickled my fancy. It looks a bit like a high, teased ponytail, with vertebrae of silver crowning it, and the hairpiece blends in perfectly with the hairbase - to be honest, I haven't seen such a fluent transition between sculpts and textures before.

After wearing [Buried]-skins for a long while when wanting to go for a more juvenile look (and never being quite satisfied with the nose texture on my shape), I think I now gained a new obsession after my friend Monica showed me the lickable skins from [.:Mascarade:.]. I love the androgynous, youthful appearance and soft definition of the body, and the unusual look of the eyebrows is also a really big plus. Besides, you can snatch up each for 300L$ for the less recent and 500L$ for the newer skins, a real deal!

As someone who actually has a 'latex'-folder with many subcategories in their inventory, I couldn't help but to snatch up this purdy huntgift of squeaky red goodness that is +DV8+'s contribution to the Dark Future hunt. The male item, Reznik (in firebrick) consists of shirt and pants, whereas the female prize, Merciless (in blood), features a futuristic looking bodice with shoulderpads, stockings and gloves. I'm always amazed how well +DV8+ manages to pull the latex look off, so this outfit will surely become one of my favourites in my Saturday-night-party wardrobe.

Red - the current colour of Luna Jubilee's blogger challenge, the colour of hearts, love and... blood. Luna has blessed us with the colour 'sienna' in the 10th week of her blogger-challenge, and once again I asked myself what it is that turns my inventory into 30k if I don't even own a piece of clothing in each colour. There is a lot of browns in there... the most different shades, but since I don't know what colours might still come up, I usually try to stay as close to the pictured one.

And this time, I thought I wanted to focus on a hair from Discord Designs, a store that offers a lot of nice prim beard styles and pretty cool braided hairdesigns with matching hairbases. But just showing a plain and simple profile shot didn't really feel like a challenge, so I went along with the idea that popped up in my head at night: the cover of a fictional SL-tattoo magazine. Silver, this week's colour of Luna Jubilee's blogger challenge, is something I mostly link with jewelry, wrapping paper and cutlery, but since I wanted to spare you with a picture of myself only wrapped in foil (I'll keep that for another colour... I think), I dug my way through almost scary amounts of silvery hair shades and jewels to present you my first attempt in working with reflections in PS: silver and light with stains of white.
