Fantasy Faire 2013 - Prickly Rose

She was given the name "Rosalee" and it determined her destiny from immediately after she'd been born. Can someone practice any other profession than a rose fairy's, with that name? Of course not. Her loving mother pampered little Rosalee, taught her grace and manners... better to say, she tried to do so, she made every effort possible, she insisted, begged and threatened, to no avail. Little Rosalee was a tomboy. A tomfairy. A reckless and stubborn thing.

"What shall we do with Rosalee?" - the almost rhetorical question hovered over the deeply worried fairy community like a black cloud with a promise of thunderstorm. One of their own, proven so inadequate for the task! "Imagine Rosalee pollinating a rose! Ha! Stomping over it, more like!" - grumbled the elders, until...

... until, at one of the weekly assemblies, the oldest fairy granny asked out loud something that first caused a deep silence, then some astonished murmuring, then the happiest and loudest cheers the fairy community had ever heard. What the oldest fairy granny asked was rather simple, "Do dog roses have a custodian? If not, who would be more able to handle their prickly thorns than our beloved Rosalee?"

When I opened the blogger package I got from Jackal Ennui, my first thought was, "Please, someone make a dress and a pair of boots like these IRL, and very very soon!" I particularly love the tendril-like pattern on the gothic doll corset set and the matching bolero, and the delicate embroidery on the boots tells us that the patient creator spent many, many hours working on it.

Then, when I opened another box that De La Soul Charlie dropped on me with love and compliments, I immediately knew I had to combine the sophisticated elven dress and the slightly macabre Kno'hr horns. I'm not sure I'd like to wear them, too, IRL... but in the fantasy world delicate and spooky match quite well.

Eyes: "Fantastical Eyes" in Clarity by Sterling Artistry - a FF2013 exclusive item (85 L$). You find the floating kiosk of Silverr Andel in Titans' Hollow.

Hair: fantasy hair by Tokyo Girl, not available any more.

Poses: "Fantasy Poses" by !Musa!. The poses are a regular item (30 L$) but you find lots of intriguing FF exclusive items in Filomena Quinnell's shop in the Magnificat sim.

[dragonriding]

The new Mens Dept might, or not be even better when you've been riding the dragon, but even without being high there's still some stunning stuff to be found. One of them is most certainly 22769's contribution, the mesh Dandy Jackets, that come in 4 different patterns: dragon (shown in the picture), brocade, flames and peacock. You can wear them as is or combine them with one of the 6 'shirtlets' that are also included in the pack to achieve the look seen in the image above. the watcher

For everybody it was just a café not for her. For her it was the perfect location to watch the others. The others weren't other humans like her they were the ones who followed them. She had not really managed to find out yet where they came from but they were like shadows. But they didn't copy humans it was more like shadows roaming around free. Sometimes she saw a the shadow of a human. The humans they belonged to always seemed to be exhausted. She never was, she had killed her shadow long ago.
The Seraphim Hunt will end at the end of this month. The gift from 22769 is a pretty boho shirt in red and yellow. It comes in the five standart sizes. The blouse goes very well with the wide Mahvi pants from Miamai. Those are also made of mesh and have a great cut.
Mesh can not only be used to create clothes it also looks great in furniture for example the Cafe set from what next. The set is currently sold at the Zombie popcorn brand event and is available in three colours.  The background comes from one of the wonderful Dreamscenes from Garden of Dreams.

For the night

Her skin was bright in the streetlight. Later in the club not only men would turn their head to her. But this wasn't the kind of attention she cared for. After 300 years it was rare that she was feeling anything else but boredom. The only reason for still visiting clubs was that there was nobody else who could do her task. Sometimes she tried to train people but they were all too weak. It was not easy to be a demonhunter and all of her apprentices failed when they were asked to kill a demon for the first time. Maybe they knew that they would become a half demon through it. There seemed to be something in humans which protected them.

The items being sold at the 2nd birthday of Chic are lovely. For example  the jacket and the dress come from CIA Designs. The Bolero jacket is even a gift. The prims of the sleeves are adjustable.  The dress comes on the shirt and the trousers layer. The skirt is mod and there is an alpha layer included which helps to make sure that the legs do not stick through the upper part of the skirt.
The hair is one of the latest releases from Wasabi Pills. It is made of non rigged mesh. This means it is possible to move it and to adjust it like prim hair. The cut is lovely and goes great for an elegant or a business look.
22769 are mainly known for their great clothes. But they also sell some nice accessories. For example this clutch bag. It is also made of nonrigged mesh and available in many colours so that there is enough variety which allows to find the fitting one to every outfit.
The wonderful jewellery is available at frippery. The set contains a necklace, a wristlet and earrings. All in the flower design. They are made of a huge amout of prims which creates many details.
The shoes can either be worn in a version with meshfeet or in a version in which only the toes are made of mesh. The design is cute and still elegant. They come with a hud which allows to tint the skin as well as the toenails.

Daydreams of you

Oh I  did get rather excited when Photos Nikolaidis on Plurk allowed us a sneak preview of his release for La Venta eventa for A.S.S and then said it was available, so I had to rush straight there and grab it. I love the romanticism of this outfit and it just so happens to be my all time favourite colour too. It's on pre- release now and available at a ridiculously super bargain price of 75L in store for this weekend. I knew exactly what I would wear with it the moment I saw it, yes my flora boots from Lassitude & ennui which compliment this opulent outfit entirely. And so we have perfectly feminized menswear, well so I think at least :D ....*goes off to daydream* Oh I do love a romantic daydream I do!

Stones and Candy

Her hair had the colour of candy. And she also reminded of something very sweet. Some people had compared her with candyfloss. She always giggled on a very kind and cute way when they did this. But hidden behind the mask, she showed all others, she despised people for thinking this way. But it helped her to get what she wanted.

Of course, she had fought to be seen as smart as she was but it seemed like people were not really willing to change their opinion. It made her first angry but after a while she saw no reason not to gain as much as she could from this and gave up. She used her smartness to build an imperium. An imperium of stones. From farmers she bought stones they found on their fields and after those had been cleaned - the stones not the farmers although those sometimes also could have needed a cleaning - she sold them as decoration to the owners of big gardens. It was worth the efford it was surprising what some people were willing to pay for a stone. So she could buy herself a nice home. It was simple and surprisingly enough for some there wasn't anything in it which reminded on candyfloss.

The festival of sin offers way more than just lust. LouLou & Co. made a wonderful gluttony themed headband. It has many little sweets on top of it and comes in three sizes. Its amazing how many details it has. Happy is a great store for the lovers of classical clothes. For the festival of sin they made a cute blouse with pretty bell formed sleves. The elegant pants are also belong to the festival of sin items from Happy.
The skybox on the upper pictures is the festival of sin item from Trompe Loeil. Its called "The Ka'u Beach". It mainly consists of mesh and is full furnitshed but leaves enough room for own decorations. The skybox has a garden with a pool and a livingroom, bedroom and a bathroom. The footprint is 54m x 29 m and the landimpact nearly 300. The hair is meshhair from Wasabi Pills. As the both Wasabi Pills creators wanted to avoid an argument the Sybille Hair is available in two versions. This is version 2. The set includes a version for avatar with bigger boobs and a normal one. The Boudoir mules from Lassitude & Ennui are an other mesh item, but they are being sold at the festival of sin. The shoes are available in several colour. It is also possible to wear them in a version where only the toes belong to the shoes and the rest of the feet of the avatar are visible, but I prefered the version where the complete foot is made of mesh. It is amazing how much better feet look which are made of mesh than normal primfeet. The colours look way more like skin. The toenails of the feet are tintable with the same hud which is also being used to tint the skin.
The pose on the upper pictures belongs to the envy me set from Hopscotch. The one on the lower are from the pencil set from Adorkable poses, its a set which is being made for pencil skirts but its great for elegant trousers as well. What I really like is that the creator included the mirrored poses. Both come also from the festival of sin.

Beggars banquet

Today I found another fantastic store! I love the fact there are so many undiscovered stores out there waiting for me to find them. Well Beggars banquet is my next favourite (love the name too) everything in store is 50L and there are some really fabulous items for men & women. This is where I picked up this gorgeous red coat which also has a fur lined hood but I decided not to wear that. I have no doubt that the skull scarf I picked up there will be my 'wear with everything' item for the coming months too.

Speaking of skulls if there's another must have item it's Lassitude & Ennuis' skully pumps . I love love LOVE the detail on these shoes but I also really like the colour options too along with Les petits details, lassitude & ennui have the best colour options to please my palette! Oh and check out this cute unisex hair!! shame about the name - Ken?! hey who am I to speak with a name like Fauna hehe *goes off to look if there are any hairs anywhere called Fauna*

Queen of the night

Oh there she goes again stealing song titles for the title of her blog posts but it was always my favourite from the magic flute. Still trying to catch up on the fabulousness! oh oh this dress! how gorgeous is it! what struck me about it's design is that how well it suits so many different genres , it's a fabulous piece of formal wear but also I love how it fits a gothic / vampiric look too oh just imagine a skin like the one that Storm blogged (don't tell him but I drool over that picture, I might run up and bite him later). Now the hair I wear is a unisex one and is a group gift at Salon de Glow, but as I went to check out the landmark the store looked a little deconstructed, so i'm not sure if it about to move or having a refit , but i'll update the post once I know more. The boots have that Victoriana feel about  them & have a squared off toe , I haven't seen many boots or shoes like that in SL so that makes me love them even more and they come in many yummy colours...ahhhhh.

In uniform

Oh would you look at me sat on that whopper cannon! well only a woman in uniform could get away with that and wow what a uniform hey?! There are 4 uniforms to choose from in the military pinups range new at Alexohol Fashions, all very sexy so it's hard to choose! all outfits include the hat, stockings and gloves. This outfit would be awesome for roleplay but actually i've enjoyed zipping around in it too!

 I think the shoes fit perfectly with this outfit but then they could go well with so many other things too . This particular version are amazingly  free in the Black butler hunt, but there a lovely range of colours instore at Lassitude & ennui too, detailing  as usual is incredible so do please go check them out. Getting in the mood for some Easter glam!

Isn't this gown & glove set from Vero Modero divine! the market for gowns is huge, and it's no surprise when we're all such amazing dancers. I love nothing more than to get glammed and watch myself elegantly gliding around a dance floor. But of course a lady wouldn't want to be seen wearing the same dress as someone else while elegantly gliding no no! 

What I love about this one is the textures, which give the gown such definition and the effect of a boned couture gown. The colour is simply beautiful ( comes in 4 other colours) & would suit any shade of skin and hair, but perfect for Easter I'd say. The lace trimmed choker is a separate item from Lassitude & ennui,. As it comes with a colour changed hud  I've taken a close up image with a different colour below.

This jewelry set is exquisitely detailed and comes with a colour change hud, so you have 7 colour options for the choker, but can also choose to have the necklace with or without the lace trim plus there are options for the metal, roses and pearl, to make it an altogether versatile piece of jewelry, not to mention great value for your linden dollars.

Button me up

Wow do I adore this outfit! It takes so much from the regency period, with this amazing  Bonaparte jacket from A:S:S and the flora boots from Lassitude & Ennui yet so wonderfully modern at the same time.  Well at least  least 200 years ago I wouldn't have had to worry about getting through customs wearing all these buttons would I? ...sorry I think some random stuff at times. Anyway can you believe this jacket is only L$90 ?! mental!

The boots have been made for the forthcoming fantasy faire, and come in every colour imaginable! they have been designed for with a roleplay feel for either a victorian lady or a doll feel...very imaginative, however they're not restricted to this, as I intend to wear them with a nice pair of jean next!

Look of the day

It's been a while since I posted my last look of the day, but then it's been a while since I have wandered around SL in an outfit that I wasn't about to blog. Laughs at the irony in that statement since I didn't intent to blog it and now I have! So as usual my outfit consists of some fantastic freebies, cheapies  and  non freebies. I want to get all gushy about my new boots for the simple fact that I think they are amazing and so integral to this look! I spent so long in Lassitude & ennui trying to decide if I would have the boots with heels or the flats , and then what colour! as there are so many options oooh dilemma! Anyway I'm thrilled with my choice & might have to go back for some more.
