Skinthesis at The Fantasy Faire

Well I see what all the fuss is about The Fantasy Faire, it's the most incredible opportunity for creators to be totally unfettered and wow are there some amazing things to be seen. The realms of fantasy in this world are boundless and today I'm sampling out some gems from Skinthesis which are from the day 2 releases. My choices are butterfly themed, being the wings and make up, Ok I might just have a wing obsession now. For the wings there are 13 shades which come in 2 sizes. It's a first for me to blog lingerie, mostly because I've never had any need for it so it's just not something that I own but I just fell in love with this pretty little ensemble currently available at XYROOM and felt compelled to blog it, plus it shows off the skin to it's maximum potential (without being in the nuddy of course *gasp*) I'm loving the tones of this skin by sugar, I like these skins and their funky make ups, definitely worth a peek.

[hairy spring affair]

Spring is a bit indecisive here - after a couple of weeks that were hot enough to be summer weather already, it's grey and drizzling now, so I'm rather thankful for SL's more predictable seasons. And with spring being around, I usually get the urge to give my inventory and looks a make over... this time, it were these two hairstyles I simply had to add to my collection. The one on the left is one of booN's latest releases, an incredibly realistic looking pair of long dreadlocks - in mesh! Needless to say that I immediately fell in love and bought one of the darker colour packs that includes three shades: chocolate, which I'm wearing in the picture, black and purple. Please make sure you're trying the demo that's available in store for free.

The Creators Pavillion is having a spring sale right now (ending April 15th), and that's where I grabbed the hair on the right, a feathery and slightly messy style from the - to me - unknown store called [INK]. Even though it's not scripted, the manual resizing works quite easily, and there is a bunch of 6 shades to pick from for a mere 69 L$ each. Demos are available as well. Since *ARAI* is represented at the sale as well and offers some pieces of their collection at half price, the fresh looking and vibrantly coloured nylon parka in teal made it into my shopping cart, too. Due to both female and male attachments being included in the folder, it's even unisex! Swing by at the Creators Pavillion sale and give yourself (and your home, for there is also several deco- and furniture items available) a vernal make over!

Teen style

So of all people my son sets me a blogger challenge, he says "mum why don't you ever do a look for girls?" I don't ever intend to do child avatar I just don't sit comfortably with that, however it did get me thinking of looks for teens and this is my creation.

Granted sons response was not favourable but hey what does he know he's a boy! and I would totally dress this way if I were a teen, actually I probably did, come to think of it now I actually did own an outfit exactly like this *blushes* But anyway I enjoyed putting this look together and I think it would be rather fun to see more teen style out there on the blogs.

Just one thing of note, I am wearing a delightful skin from wow skins which is at the current weekly event 50L frenzy shop a thon - week starting 27th March. There are 2 colour make ups if you don't like to be as bold with blue eyeshadow.

Daydreams of you

Oh I  did get rather excited when Photos Nikolaidis on Plurk allowed us a sneak preview of his release for La Venta eventa for A.S.S and then said it was available, so I had to rush straight there and grab it. I love the romanticism of this outfit and it just so happens to be my all time favourite colour too. It's on pre- release now and available at a ridiculously super bargain price of 75L in store for this weekend. I knew exactly what I would wear with it the moment I saw it, yes my flora boots from Lassitude & ennui which compliment this opulent outfit entirely. And so we have perfectly feminized menswear, well so I think at least :D ....*goes off to daydream* Oh I do love a romantic daydream I do!

Miamai at fashion for life

My second post relating to Fashion for life includes this delightfully opulent dress from Miamai (can be found on the dream seekers volta sim) which I want someone to make for me RL! I  love every element of this design, the shape, proportions subtle pattern and most of all what makes it for me is the peacock feather neck piece. There is a range of colours to choose from and plenty of other designs in store so please don't miss out on this one. The skin is one I have previously blogged by Hush (also exclusive at the fashion for life event) but It's my current favourite so you'll see me wear this a lot.

It's a bargain find blog post that's what! Fresh faced for spring

Is it about time you organized your inventory, In order to  push aside those dark drab winter colours & introduce some fresh airy light springtime colours? well I certainly think so! I adore this this pretty feminine outfit, The dress  and comes in a range of beautiful pastel colours, but this green happens to be my personal favourite. It goes great with this pretty lacy bolero jacket does have an extra prim bottom which I removed for this outfit.

 Loving the skin for a fresh pretty feminine look with the  liquid eyeliner effect which I definitely favour! Oh and lets not forget these pretty sparkly eyes which have tiny flecks of pink in love it! you really must check out this eye store! so overall I'm rather pleased with my girly look.

A little Spring Seasons hunting

How many amazing hunt items are there in the new seasons hunt? blinkin loads that's what! I haven't even got a quarter of the way through, but I love everything so far! If you've not done a seasons hunt before , you need to join the group inworld, look in notices and pick up the hunt list, there are no clues that I know of, but if you're stuck ask in group and I'm sure someone will give you a hint. Sixties pixie mode

Today i've gone blonde, isn't that one of the most fabulous thing about SL that you can just change your whole look to suit your mood? I have a thing about hair as it is , but for the purpose of this look I thought blonde was best. Of course it's a more modern interpretation of that look. As soon as I saw this amazing asian style top, which is the latest group gift by 22769 ( male & female versions in the gift ) .

 I knew instantly what I wanted to wear it with. The top itself is so versatile, that you can wear it as a dress like I have here  with tights, also it will look great with knee socks, or with jeans, shorts or simply with trousers that come with the group gift, either way monochrome is just so classic that it just goes with everything!

Look of the day

It's been a while since I posted my last look of the day, but then it's been a while since I have wandered around SL in an outfit that I wasn't about to blog. Laughs at the irony in that statement since I didn't intent to blog it and now I have! So as usual my outfit consists of some fantastic freebies, cheapies  and  non freebies. I want to get all gushy about my new boots for the simple fact that I think they are amazing and so integral to this look! I spent so long in Lassitude & ennui trying to decide if I would have the boots with heels or the flats , and then what colour! as there are so many options oooh dilemma! I'm in my tomboy clothes today or should I say unisex? yes that sounds better. I picked up this lovely vest at A:S:S yesterday and I love it. It's like a waistcoat so will look great over a shirt or on it's own with a skirt, I'm definitely going to play around with a few looks.

Look of the day

Well here is my look of the day, with a very ethnic feel, it's something that I would wear in real life.My dear blogger friend Dagmar asked if I would like to do a 'look of the day' post. I think it is designed to share a bit about ourselves as bloggers ( although I could be totally off the mark here). Like Dagmar I also have a love of oriental/ethnic style clothes as they seem to love their bold prints and bright colours, and this lovely little dress on the lucky board at Awram Viie is no exception.

It's interesting how peoples opinions differ when it comes to SL, some like to express themselves in a way that they wouldn't be able to in real life , however I can't seem to do that I always pick clothes that reflect the real life me. For example I was drawn to this outfit for the colours , something which my real life wardrobe is full of because apparently i'm prediposed to being a 'winter', ...that's according to my friend who is a colour analyst and believes we all fit into certain 'colour types' that seem to fit the seasons of the year...odd you might think but when she told me what colours I subconciously are drawn to I found that she was quite correct, lucky guess maybe ....having seen the outfits I wear?

Getting sidetracked

So my little project of blogging mens clothes has been put on the back burned a little, just a temporary thing  I'm sure. Trouble is I can help getting sidetracked! just as I think I have a great outfit that I want to blog, I get a notecard informing me of something new and exciting that I simply must have! well it helps me experiment. As a rookie blogger , to say my editing/photography skills are practically non existent would be a huge under statement! Good thing the bargains are so great! The top from SMS is my favourite item this year, and the 50L friday belt from Miel is a very close second. There are 2 belts of the same design with 4 choices of texture change shades, so in effect you have 8 belts this fantastic for 100L ?! amazing!

Recently, I had the questionable talent to leave the house and get soaked to the bone by some heavy rain not only 5 minutes later - even when the horizon looked clear and inviting while I was still inside.
